1 Star - Extremely Unsafe and Poorly Managed Community…read more I am writing this review as a deeply concerned parent and tenant. I live in this complex with my newborn baby recently released from the NICU and my 12-year-old child who has asthma, and our living conditions have become unbearable due to ongoing harassment and constant exposure to smoke and heavy sage burning from our neighbor. Despite months of complaints to the leasing office, corporate, and even the police, absolutely nothing has been done. The neighbor continues to burn sage so heavily that it burns our eyes and throat, and the smoke fills our apartment daily. They have also threatened me and my child, harassed my guests, and slam their doors so violently that pictures fall off our walls. I recently had a total knee replacement on November 17th, and instead of recovering in a safe environment, I am dealing with constant stress and unhealthy air conditions. We even contacted ECHO Housing, who advised the neighbors to stop, yet the behavior continues every single day with no action from management. Corporate refuses to return my calls, and the office has shown zero concern for our health or safety. This complex does not protect families, children with medical conditions, or tenants dealing with legitimate safety issues. The quality of living here has gone completely downhill. So many long-time tenants have already moved out, and it's clear the management's priority is filling units--not maintaining a safe community. If you care about your health, your children, or simply living in a respectful and well-managed property, look elsewhere. This has been the worst living experience I have ever had, and they have officially lost a responsible, long-term tenant.

Alex responds well to maintenance requests. Paying rent has an online system that is very efficient/ flexible which I really appreciate coming from a place that ONLY took money orders. Neighbors are very considerate too. I didn't realize my puppy child barks when I'm not home so they were kind enough to inform me first so I could fix this disruptive issue. No complaints since :) If you are a dog lover, definitely consider this place as the community really watches out for your pup in case they get out. I found my neighbors corgi wandering around and quickly returned him home. There are lots of areas for your pup to play as well as relieve himself. They even provide doggy bags!

They took extra time with me, answered questions thoroughly, and actually listened to what I was looking for instead of making the whole thing feel rushed. A lot of apartment complexes make the experience feel very impersonal, but Canyon Creek felt much more welcoming. It was nice dealing with people who actually seemed to care and were willing to spend the time helping me explore different options.

BEWARE!!! Monthly…read morerent increased by nearly $500 in 3 years! That is an increment of nearly $5,500 - $6,000 per year! Additionally, the utility charge was a flat $95 until last year. This year, during lease renewal, they added a term called "a more fair and equitable method of calculating utility charge." Who would think that this means they are going to increase the utility charge by 120%? According to them, a "more fair and equitable method of calculating utility charge" means increasing it from $95 to $210. The apartment next to mine has been vacant for nearly a year. I have seen 4-5 different tenants in that apartment over the past 3 years. I hope you understand. So, I strongly recommend: BEWARE before you move in here. I'm paying the price for my laziness.

Safeway is right across the street; Creekside Park is adjacent to the property; and tons of schools are within walking distance. Sometimes I feel very spoiled! Every summer the pool is where we see the neighbors and spend some wonderful time. I like the diversity, because I have a child, and it is family friendly, but there are also some residence in their early 20's, it's nice to see the assorted population get along. Feels like home. The staff has been absolutely amazing. Always so kind when I see them around the property. I have called or emailed and gotten a response every time. We had an emergency and they responded in the middle of the night for us. Also, a fire alarm went off a few years back, and they all responded with magnificent care, even though nothing was on fire. Really, this kind of thing can not be beat.

At this point we are breaking the lease. We have holes in our carpet, broken door (huge safety concerns - considering we have cops at the complex nightly and even had a swat raid a few months back), lots of dirt on the walls, lights falling out of fixtures, mice, general pest issues everywhere, our fence is rotten and needs to be replaced, screen door has had holes since we moved in. So many issues that go unrepaired simply because they dont care. Im so happy to be leaving this place. It has been a nightmare from day 1. I am sure even though all these issues were documented since we moved in that they'll still keep our deposit. I highly recommend staying away from this place!!!

I only had to move out due to changes related to my work, otherwise, living here was heavenly. Neighbors were nice, amenities and the construction of the apartments were exquisite. And as mentioned before, the complex is managed so well by Kiersten, Jacob and maintenance Diego, who are all extremely responsive and organized. Maintenance, was always great too, even though I did not need them much, place was brand new and in great working order! Even though I only stayed here for a few months, it felt like a long little vacation. I found a less expensive apartment and since I had another month on my lease and didn't want to miss getting the place, I let the management show my unit while I lived there. They did rent my apartment but charged me every cent until the new tenant moved in even I though Im pretty sure the turn around time was not immediate. They were down to one maintenance person. I had fallen hard on the property due to a missing hand rail my first day of packing and it made moving far more difficult and expensive than I had anticipated. In spite of my injury which should have gone to court for negligence, the manager was rude the day I left after paying my prorated rent until the new tenants move in date. He even mentioned that I had not had a rent increase as if they had done me a favor In the past. I had heard "it's not in my pay grade" too many times and him passing the buck whenever possible blaming the owners of the complex. I limped away with a bad taste in my mouth. I'm afraid some of the other neighbors will also leave now.

The complex is very family friendly and we enjoy walks to downtown and Mission Hills park. Alisa, the property manager, is very approachable and is quick to respond to emails. I'm always shocked at how quickly she can get a repair man out to our apartment. I highly recommend Brentwood Apartments!
