I saw Sam Switzer at the Adult Dental Clinic at Foothills because we were unable to get a time to work for me to visit his separate office, but I have also dealt with his office staff via phone several times as well as had a few phone conversations with him.
Unfortunately, a lack of attention to detail by him, and poor execution on the part of office staff in their basic jobs makes this a 2 1/2 star review. I feel badly about that, because he seems nice & did try to be helpful, plus it is possible that some of his bad info came from Foothills (I review that clinic separately).
However, he saw me in person and I know I explained my need for special accommodations both on the phone and in person, plus the geneticist's letter on my file gave important context that any medical professional should understand. I told him what I needed and why, confirming no surgical suite in town would touch my case, yet he insisted I could have a root canal at a surgical suite and reassured me it would get booked the next business day, and that his office would call me with details.
Of course, he was wrong, and his office never called (just as they never returned my first call to them in mid July). He then tried to make up for these errors by trying to find someone who would do an alternate procedure, but gave them all wrong info about my requirements, making his enquiries useless. I had explained my requirements on the phone again, so he had zero excuse for this additional delay.
Rounding the 2 1/2 stars down instead of up because if his office had returned my mid-July call, we may have been able to do the root canal in a timely fashion. The multiple delays mean I instead had to have the tooth removed. Sam, hire some folks who can dial a phone number, if you care about your patients. read more
