4.5 stars Flex Rent…read morein Zermatt is in a perfect location--literally about 100 meters from the ski lift, making it super convenient to grab your gear and head straight up the mountain. I showed up without a reservation, and they were able to fully outfit me with a jacket, pants, helmet, boots, and a snowboard. They also allowed me to store my clothes and shoes at the shop while I was out skiing, which was a huge plus. The staff was very friendly, and the whole process--from fitting to walking out ready to ride--took about an hour. The only downside was that goggles and gloves were not included and were quite overpriced, which is why I'd give it one star less. That said, it's Zermatt, and things are generally expensive. In hindsight, it was still better to have them than risk not being prepared on the mountain. Overall, a very convenient and efficient rental experience with great service.

This was booked and prepaid in advance and I had contacted them way in advance to let them know we would be arriving late in the morning about 3-4 am. I called them when we landed in Geneva, Switzerland about 11 pm to let them know we are on our way. It is a 3+ hour drive with no traffic. After getting our rental car and luggage we arrived at 4 am Sept 13. The man kindly woke up and drove us to the next taxi stop which was suppose to be included per our booking reservation and the website and it was not. (the taxi driver said because it is so late it is 17 francs. We arrived at our hotel about 4;30 am) On our departure on Sept 14 at 2;00 pm we got in our taxi to go to the shuttle stop. Now this time the driver says it is included in our pre paid booking and then we are shuttled to the Cristophe station to pick up our car. We get to our car and it is parked out front for us to load up. The lady at the station check us out and says we owe another 20 francs for a late arrival 4 am and and another 12 francs for the second day. Now I am pist. This was prepaid and we arrived on Sept 13 at 4;00 am and left on Sept 14 and 2;00 pm. She is saying it is 2 days and we are being charged for waking them up to shuttle us, a taxi that was suppose to be included and additional days. This says it is 24 hours but keep in mind when booking you will pay for a lot of BS if you don't watch it. I refused and we did not pay.

Klettersteig / via ferrata gear in the summer is fairly straightforward, and CHF20 for the day --- cheaper than I'd expected. New-style EPS helmet (rather than hard plastic), a harness with speed buckles, and a progressive-tear via ferrata setup; mostly very-new-looking Petzl gear. Front desk staff was polite, if uninterested in dealing with rental customers; the rental desk was much more friendly.

One pair of skis got damaged when skiing on piste with an instructor so we took them back only to be shouted at and told that we couldn't have any more skis we would just have to ski on the broken skis or have no skis for the rest of the week. He was incredibly aggressive and shouted at us and stormed off refusing to speak to us or help. The rest of the staff were incredibly apologetic and embarrassed by his behaviour and had to help us behind his back! Do not use this company, they will take your money for insurance but won't honour it.
