The chicken sandwiches and biscuits were hot and fresh. It's a very thick piece of yummy white breast, with a clean crunchy breading. Not overly spicy and thankfully less sauce than other places. Compared to Mary Brown's there is less seasoning but it is thicker and crunchier. $5.99 is a good deal these days. The biscuits were excellent and made a nice side for only 99 cents each. I would avoid the Mac and Cheese - it was very soupy, little noodles or cheese. Ripoff for $2.29 even if they would have filled the pathetically small container.

The only trash bin was overflowing and the bathroom lacked toilet paper. It's better to do takeout but we decided to eat there. We went for the family combo with the $6 drink upgrade. We were too hungry so I didn't get to snap picks before everyone already started eating . We were 4 people and there was enough left over for another person. We took the really creamy mac'n cheese and the rice and beans as sides. The mac was a bit runny but very satisfying and the rice was added on top of the cooked beans. The biscuits were soft on the inside with a golden baked exterior. Since we had our chicken right away, they were immensely crispy.

Their food was delicious, but I was unhappy with their inattention to order details. I ordered 2 regular Big Mary sandwiches and 2 spicy Big Mary sandwiches upgraded to brioche buns. Despite paying extra for the bun upgrade, all the sandwiches came with the standard sesame seed buns. I didn't realize until I got home. Since I can't eat sesame seeds, I had to use my own bread at home and my husband got to eat some empty buns. The chicken was crispy and delicious though. The spicy chicken was pretty spicy too, I was impressed. Since I ordered on UberEats (for pick up), they compensated me for the bun error, but had I just ordered from the store, I would have been out some money, or I would have had to go back to the store for them to correct it. The sandwiches were $10.39 each on UberEats, but there was a BOGO deal going on. It's $0.89 per sandwich to upgrade to a brioche bun. Staff were pleasant, but need to pay more attention to order details. There are a few seats inside to eat in. The restaurant is bright and clean. Street parking only. (23)

Their chicken is always a generous size, crispy, golden, juicy and flavorful. They give you a massive amount of fries perfect for dunking in their sauce which is perfection and they actually have coleslaw that you actually want to eat. Prices are so inexpensive (around 10ish dollars a meal) and they have a special on Tuesday's that is basically a two for one deal. You can eat in, pick it up or have it delivered.

The Short Version: Take out only Chinese restaurant in Old…read moreOttawa South. Food was just OK in my opinion. The Long Version: I've known about Eggroll Express for many years now but just recently got around to trying it. What finally enticed me was a BOGO (buy one get one free) deal on UberEats plus a save $12 when you spend $40 or more. I saw that they had Cantonese Chow Mein on BOGO for $22 and General Tao Tofu on BOGO for $21, which totaled $43 minus the additional $12 deal, so it turned out to be only $31 for four dishes. I couldn't pass that up, LOL. I ordered on my UberEats app and then drove to the restaurant from work. True to what the app said it was packed and ready to go by the time I arrived. Pick up was quick and seamless and staff were courteous. The Cantonese Chow Mein was not bad, but I found the BBQ pork way too fatty for my liking. It did also have two large shrimp, some lean pieces of chicken, mushrooms, onions, broccoli, and Napa cabbage. No wow factor for me but it was decent. The General Tao tofu had good flavour. It came with onions, broccoli and green peppers. The tofu is deep fried tofu puffs. They were a little bit spongy in texture, but this is the nature of that type of tofu. Again I found the food was satisfactory but lacking in wow factor. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a small container of complementary steamed white rice. With the multiple deals I got each dish worked out to be $7.75. For this price I would get the Cantonese Chow Mein again. I personally would not pay the regular price of $19 for the Cantonese Chow Mein. Bottom line, it's North Americanized Chinese takeout. The restaurant is exclusively takeout there is no dine-in option. Although there is a metal bench and a single chair for you to sit and wait for your takeout order. Street parking only. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy my meal at this location. I wound up ordering the Classic Rotisserie Chicken Breast and I got that with fries. The first thing to come one was the creamy coleslaw, and it's stellar. It's well prepared and the dressing is actually quite addictive. I could eat this every day. The main dishes came out a minute or two later and everything was fresh and hot. The fries are decent but nothing spectacular, while the gravy is somewhat flavorful but awfully thin. The chicken was a little on the dry side but it was quite flavorful otherwise and I enjoyed the crispy skin. Our server disappeared for long stretches, which was disappointing, but otherwise we quite enjoyed our meal. I'd never pick the place over Swiss Chalet but there's nothing wrong with St. Hubert.
