We spoke with her for a bit and since we weren't really ready to buy a stick on site she invited us to come to her shop (A Chic With Stix) for a fitting and to try out the vast assortment of sticks she had so my daughter could find the right fit. My wife and daughter, and one of my daughter's teammates and her Mom, took the trip down to Fair Haven to check the place out. Kendra took a tremendous amount of time working with my daughter and her teammate to ensure that they got the right stick, a stick which felt right in their hands, a stick that was appropriate for their strength and swing and in all of the time she spent with them she didn't try to upsell them on more expensive sticks. My daughter ended up with a field hockey stick that she absolutely loves. We had such a great experience working with Kendra that we recently (two weeks ago) went back to buy my daugher a new indoor field hockey stick for the upcoming season and she once again took her time to help her find the perfect fit. As you can tell, I can't heap enough praise on A Chic With Stix as my daughter would never had gotten the kind of personal service she got here from a big chain store and we would have had to guess as to what stick to get her. Disappointed by the Service - Would Not Recommend…read more I recently played this course and unfortunately got rained out after only three holes. While I understand that weather can be unpredictable, what I found unacceptable was the complete lack of flexibility or customer service. Despite rain being clearly in the forecast, there was no mention of a "no refund / no rain check" policy when I paid. It wasn't until I returned to the clubhouse, drenched and hoping for at least a 9 hole rain check (I would have taken a coupon for a bucket of balls), that I was told--rather rudely--that there would be no compensation of any kind. A staff member named Ricky was dismissive and snarky when I asked about a possible rain check. He pointed to a small sign in the corner, claiming the policy has been the same since the 1990s, as if that somehow made it reasonable to exclude this basic courtesy. This lack of transparency, poor attitude, and total disregard for customer experience left a bad taste. There are too many great courses out there that treat golfers with respect and common courtesy. I won't be returning--and I'd advise others to look elsewhere before paying an excessive amount of money to play a course where the staff has a pretentious attitude and 0 care for the customer.
