At the same time, I ran into someone I knew from the old Jewish Business Lunch (Walnut Creek), gave some tips to a couple who were new to the area, and was impressed that several politicos showed up. Beware! Here is why: We decided to sign my son up to play…read moreindoor soccer. We knew that indoor soccer is aggressive as we have an older daughter who played for several years in a different state. The referees where we used to play may have missed some calls, however never was a player left on the field when they were down and injured. Tonight my son was shoved by a straight arm push into the boards. No call was made even when my son did not get up. The parents, coach and players were all screaming at the referee that a player was down and still the referee ignored the fact that a player was not getting up. When the opposing team's goal keeper finally got the referee's attention, the referee finally stopped the play to check on the player. When my son still was not able to get up unassisted, our coach was called over to help him off the field. This athletic center was ill equipped to handle injuries even though this is a contact sport. Their first aid kit did not contain ice packs to provide basic first aid. This is not the first occurrence with poor game management and refereeing by the assigned official. Having been involved with soccer for many years and having a husband who is a certified referee this brings up the question of what level of proficiency the officials associated with this establishment actually possess?

Timing was prompt and while we waited we ordered some drinks. I was surprised how reasonably priced the cocktails were! We all enjoyed our drinks a lot. The bourbon mule was great. The only recommendation I would make is more non-alcoholic choices as we had one person in our group not drinking. The actual simulator experience was $60 for an hour. We were able to get through 3 holes in the hour as novice golfers. While I do think the pricing is a bit high, it's the only simulator experience in the area that I'm aware of and the experience is great. I would come back to try some of the mini games as actual golf on the simulator is fun, but more for experienced golfers who are looking to tune their game. The level of statistics you get on these things are crazy. Overall I thought the Golf Lodge was a great experience and a cool new spot in Carson. I would go back just for a drink or two at the bar and to watch others golf, but also to try out some of the other settings in the simulators.

I did the cast and catch for 5 people. I found it overpriced. The guide left for 30 minutes and just let us practice on the golf course without any instruction. The golf course was in play as well which was a little odd. The pond was full of weeds and while we did have the experience, I was not worth 200$ plus per person. I asked for a discount because I was a large group. They did not agree. The second trip was far worse, we went to a location that was nice. I went with my two kids aged 12 and 13. I found the guide to be aggressive and somewhat unpleasant. It was uncomfortable to me and something I'm not used to. But I wanted my kids to have a good time as it was their first time. The payment arrangement was not clear as well. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, I also tipped the guide just out of habit. I gave more than 15%. But in the end I was left with a sour taste in my mouth and regretted using this outfitter. I contacted Matt and let him know. No action was taken, Disappointed and I will not use this guide service next time I'm back in Tahoe.
