When I called back I got someone else who said I should probably have her do an assessment. So I showed up this past weekend and had her do the 2 minute assessment which was basically the instructor asking her to swim to her then float on her back. So I decided to set her up for lessons, although I was not impressed with the swim instructor. The lady at the desk told me there was an $80 registration fee and then $25 for the assessment. First of all no one told me there was a fee for the assessments and she went into exactly the class I figured she would go into so I was a bit irritated. Anyway I decided to set it up regardless. I did ask on the phone how many children were present for each class and I was told for the five. There are eight children present today with one instructor. So that's another annoyance. This location is very convenient, so I would love it to work out. I guess I'll give it more of a try but so far I'm not impressed. Another side note, in order to see the lanes fully you have to sit inside the pool area and it is like 100° in here! I'm sweating bullets. But it's only way I could get a full view of what my daughter is doing. The teacher is very perfunctory and doesn't crack a smile. I'll have to see if I can get her private lessons perhaps with someone else here or try somewhere else altogether.

Have come here for a few weeks now and can already see the improvement of my son's swimming technique and confidence. The swimming instructors are a little more firm than other toddler or young kids swimming academies and that's a good thing as their ability to swim and improve can be seen and progress cam be observed. I appreciate how accommodating they are. There are so many swim instructors/staff working. The staff are very warm and caring. There is a huge window/seating area to see the entire pool and my child feels reassured since he can easily see us. The facility is very clean and has many changing rooms, restrooms, hair dryers, etc. The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly. My almost 4 year old has been going to weekly classes for the past few months. He was very scared of the water before, but since starting the classes he is less fearful and seems to enjoy it now. Depending on the day and level, there could be anywhere from 1-4 kids in a class. Although, I wish they would cap the class to 3 kids so there is more time in the water, I still think he is learning a lot. We will see how long it takes him to make progress and will post an update.

I recently left a 5 STAR review for the Briarcliff location, where we had a consistently positive…read moreexperience. After relocating to Johns Creek, we've attended this location for the past three weeks--and unfortunately, the quality has not matched what we previously experienced. The facility is noticeably outdated, with rusted benches in ALL of the changing stalls--something I find concerning, especially with my child barefoot in those areas. The amenities also feel neglected. The same worn coloring sheets have been out for weeks, and the provided markers don't work. These may seem like small details, but they matter when creating a welcoming environment for kids. At Briarcliff, the staff went the extra mile they had connect 4, cornhole and bubble machines going on the Entry and Exit of Class they even gifted the kids Ballons and sickers after EACH SESSION. My biggest concern is the lack of consistency in swim instructors. My son has had a different instructor EVERY session, making it difficult for anyone to assess his progress accurately. He's been with Big Blue since July 2024 and was thriving--yet here, they wanted to demote him back to the beginner class based on a single instructor's brief interaction. One instructor, in particular, was overly aggressive and even ripped a bandage from my son's finger during class without knowing what was underneath--an inappropriate and careless action, especially not knowing my son's sensitivity. To make matters worse, I was told I'd need to get in the water and teach my son the Bright 1 material MYSELF. If that's the expectation, I might as well be the instructor I find that request unacceptable due to the fact that I have spend over thousands of dollars with this company. I've since WITHDRAWN my son from this location, and he is now happily enrolled at Aqua TOTS. Based on our experience, I would NEVER recommend the Johns Creek location to other families.

Once we arrived for our lessons, several weeks after registration, we recognized that it was a bit chaotic. There were parents and children everywhere. Directions were not clear on where to stand and how groups were being identified. I asked several workers for instructions and was passed along to someone else. After about 10 minutes, someone did make an announcement for the next session times and called the children by name. However, none of the employees seemed to know that was happening. I wish I could say that the chaos ended after that first week. But instead it only lessened. When our lessons concluded, the instructor gave my son a certificate with the wrong name on it. She had to ask who he was after 6 weeks of instructing him. Chaos.
