Luckily we got away from New Orleans just in time before the coronavirus hit. Once I arrive I was first impressed with the foundation work. After talking with my sister she told me that this was supposed to be a four-month project. All the while she would be staying in a camper on the property. 10 months later she's still in the camper and the house is far from done. His workers I believe are all work release from jail or ex-convicts that he pays $10 an hour with very little experience. He was even robbed twice while working on my sister's house. Stealing his work truck and tools. Everyone was very unprofessional that he subbed the workout to besides the stone installer and painter. 10 months later in the siding is still not finished on the outside. The inside was painted and the floors we're down but the windows were dripping rainwater and saturating the finished floors and walls. Then the kitchen, he made the kitchen plans on a 2x4 which caused the fabricator to remake five different cabinets at my sister's expense. first installed the lower cabinets in the upper cabinets 12 inches apart and said that there was no standard but yet you couldn't even fit a coffee maker in between. That's whenever I knew there was a real problem. I brung it to his attention and he was embarrassed. So much that he wanted a meeting the next day to tell my sister and brother-in-law that he would be pulling off the job as long as me and my father where there. Keep in mind there is a major pandemic across the globe and New Orleans is a major hotspot. My sister wanting her house finished said that we could go somewhere else and begged him to not leave. The house is still not finished and probably has another two months so a four month project turn into a year. Save yourself the trouble and find a professional.

Over a year later, and we are at basically the same level of completion. The house was started in the Spring of 2017, and TNT has given excuse after excuse as to why it is still so far from being completed. - Still no stairs on the front of the house or rear deck areas. - Still areas on the front and rear of the house that lack the required log siding. - Still no deck rails, or screened enclosure. - Still not one exterior light installed on the entire house. - Still exterior outlets missing. - Still missing soffits in front and rear of the house. - Still no chimney cap, or connecting ductwork for the fireplace. - Still many uninstalled light switches and outlets. - Still a huge hole in the ground around the propane tank. - Still sunken areas over the electrical and septic lines. - Still about 80% of needed interior trim missing. - Still not one ounce of exterior stain applied to the house (even though you took a draw on it) - Closet doors still not hung. Owner of company has made construction draws for work not completed or even started in some cases, and has refused to reimburse me for money I extended to purchase building materials.

We're so grateful we found Reid's Home Repair for our big basement refinish project - great work…read moreand great humans! Our home was built in 1913 and gut rehabbed in 2024. However, the basement was not finished, but had rough-in plumbing installed. We were looking for someone to finish the basement (4 rooms total), including adding an additional bedroom with closet and full bathroom. This included all electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, door installation, flooring, trim, and painting. Mike was quick to respond to my original inquiry, come check out the space, and provide a quote. He was timely, friendly, and easy to collaborate with. We changed our mind a few times on final design - we appreciate how patient he was with us while we narrowed in on the final plan. The final quote was very detailed and he provided helpful information on the areas for potential cost increase (given that the home is old and there could have been unexpected things identified after work begun). This helped us set our expectations for the project. During the project, he kept us up to date on progress or concerns and kept the area very clean (ensuring very little debris made its way outside the basement into our home). He managed all of the subcontractors (electric, plumbing, carpet, etc) so we didn't need to worry about a thing. Made it super easy by having one point of contact! His work speaks for itself. There were a lot of difficult aspects of the basement to figure out (i.e. uneven walls and ceilings, tricky vents or pipes along the ceiling, water/electrical shutoffs needing to be accessible, etc), but he managed to turn the space into exactly what we were looking for. The attention to detail makes all the difference! In the end, the project took about two months (including carpet installation) and final cost was in line with the estimate. I'd recommend Reid's Home Repair to anyone!
