I chose Freedom Auto Repair because of its excellent reputation and specifically sought an…read moreindependent shop to objectively diagnose persistent front suspension noises on my 2018 Chevrolet Malibu after extensive suspension work had already been completed elsewhere. Before my appointment, I completed their online intake form with a detailed description of the symptoms and my request for a comprehensive diagnosis. My appointment was on June 29, 2026. Jeremy, the owner, rode with me during a test drive, and together we identified multiple distinct noises coming from the front suspension, including an unusual noise that could be felt and heard through the brake pedal. Before I left the vehicle with them, I understood that all of those concerns would be diagnosed and repaired. Freedom Auto Repair kept my vehicle from June 29 until July 21. During that time, they contacted me several times to thank me for my patience, which I appreciated. When I was notified the vehicle was ready, I asked to test drive it before paying. During that drive, it became apparent that while some of the noises had been eliminated, several of the original noises were still present. I calmly explained that this wasn't consistent with my original service request or with my understanding of what we had discussed before I left the vehicle. Unfortunately, that conversation took an unexpected turn. Jeremy immediately disputed my recollection of our initial discussion and insisted we had never discussed eliminating all of the noises. That was not how I remembered our conversation. He became increasingly frustrated, stated that he was "through with this car," and after I questioned his version of events, he told me, "get out of my shop" and "don't you ever step foot in it again." At no point did I refuse to pay for the work. In fact, I had cash in my hand and intended to pay after confirming the repairs addressed the issues we had discussed. Instead, Jeremy returned my keys and refused payment. While I ultimately wasn't charged for the work, this experience wasn't about the money. It was about the way I was treated as a customer. After waiting more than three weeks for the vehicle, I expected to have a professional discussion about the remaining concerns. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, dismissed, and unwelcome simply for questioning whether the repairs fully addressed the problems I brought the vehicle in for. Every repair shop can encounter a difficult diagnosis. What distinguishes a great shop is how it communicates with customers when expectations differ. Unfortunately, my experience fell well short of the professionalism I expected based on Freedom Auto Repair's reputation. I cannot recommend the shop based on the way this situation was handled. UPDATE AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE BELOW After reading Jeremy's response, I want to clarify several points. First, I did not refuse to pay. I had just come from the ATM and arrived with cash in hand. Such is easily verified with a simple review of his in-store surveillance. Jeremy and I agreed at drop-off that I would test drive the vehicle before payment, so my request to do so was exactly what we had discussed. Second, this has never been about what was or wasn't written on the repair order. During our initial road test, Jeremy and I identified multiple suspension noises, including the brake pedal noise, and my understanding was that these concerns would be diagnosed and resolved. Several of those same noises remained when I picked up the vehicle. Third, Jeremy says I insulted him. I did not call him names or use profanity. I told him, "You are being dishonest and twisting yourself into a pretzel to rewrite the nature of our discussion when I dropped the vehicle off." Readers can decide whether that was a personal insult or my frustration after being told a conversation I clearly remember never happened. Finally, Jeremy states he performed "three weeks of work" while also claiming the approved repair was simply replacing both lower control arms. My vehicle remained there from June 29 to July 21. I'll let readers draw their own conclusions on whether that makes sense or not.

I own a 2011 2.0T GENESIS Coupé in Aqua Mineral Blue & I brought it to Jeff & the other good folks at Swift Appearence to get them pulled. My poor car had dents all throughout the roof, both roof rails (with one looking like a bullet hit it), a crease in the driver-side door that was about 1' across, & multiple shopping car dings on the passenger side. Needless to say alot of these dents were major & were nothing short of a challenge for them-- all thanks careless/ inconsideration of other people. I was fully aware of the costly repairs and Jeff was completely open & transparent about what I should expect in terms of cost & results & was willing to walk me through all the details. While some of them would never be able to be 100% masked with the PDR process, Jeff & his team were still able to exceed my expectations. The bullet-like pinhole on the passenger-side roof rail and the crease on the driver-side door were fixed 95% and if you don't know where to look, you will not find them, & everything else looks incredible! This place has glowing reviews & after meeting & speaking with Jeff & his crew I can see why: they are a great group of people who are friendly, honest & have a deep care for attention to detail. I think I can safely say they are one of, if not THE BEST PDR body shops in the high desert. If I ever am in need of their services again, I will certainly be back. read more

I want to let you all know how impressed I was the instant I walked into Jeff's shop. He has one of the cleanest and most professional shops i have ever seen. I took him my car that had a dented crease across a rib on my door that someone let their door cause. I had already gone to body shops and was told prices from 900 to 1300 dollars to repair, paint and blend. I didn't even think Jeff had a chance of getting the dent out. He removed it so well my wife couldn't even find where it had been. I am amazed at the result. Nice guy and great result for a fair price. While I am not and haven't ever been a Customer, per se, at Swift, what I will tell you is that I was involved in a Fender-Bender in San Diego one morning on my way to the Doctor's, with a Woman who happens to live in the Victorville area and had work done before at Swift Appearance. She agreed to keep this incident away from the Insurance Companies, as I claimed total responsibility and promised to pay for whatever damages I caused. While not going into great detail, what I will tell you is that Jeff, the Owner, has got to be one of the most Honest and Straight-Forward Individuals that I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with and if you live around there and don't do business with Swift you're missing out! read more

Just got a dent repaired on my 2017 Miata. The dent was at the front edge of the passenger side door. Jeff and his crew took it out and the door looks just as beautiful as when I first bought the car. His attention to detail is apparent in all areas of his shop, from the decorative touches in the front office to the immaculate condition of the service bays. This business is amazing!! My suv had a huge dent in the back and Brian some how got it out, you can't even tell it was ever there. I can't believe how good it looks it's like magic. Was very hesitant trusting my new Lexus to PDR after reading reviews on other shops and guys down the hill. Called caliber collision and they recommend swift for PDR and I felt a lot better. Man I am glad I went to swift. I was in and out in 30 minutes and the price was very good. The dent was in a bad spot right by the door jam and he got it out (young guy) and it looks 100% brand new. I had a huge shopping cart ding on my BLACK truck... Stuck out like a sore thumb! I always wanted to get it fixed but I thought it was going to be too expensive. I usually don't write bad reviews but considering I'm out 500$ for a ceramic coat, I need to spread awareness.. here's my experience.. I've had Edgar work on my vehicles since late 2019, and up until today I will no longer be using him. I've been very loyal to him and his business as he really does great work (even still today). But unfortunately his communication, and customer service skills are lacking big time. And as of late I feel very betrayed by his business practices. So just for reference I had spoke with Edgar about getting my jet skis ceramic coated in late February/ early March when I got my truck ceramic coated by him. So we set a rough date, and he gave me the pricing. I agreed. I hit him up on IG on the 15th of March because he had an opening available for the 16th. He asked if I could front him 150$ of the overall 1000$ total to buy marine ceramic coat product. I sent it. He shows up around 6 pm and starts working on the first ski. Finishes around midnight and say he will be back to finish the second ski the next day. Fine no problem. So I end up making my first mistake, paying him in full for both skis. 150+remaining 850$. Well that's where it started going downhill. Reschedules, no call no show, no responses, unkept promises. My time is very valuable so I can't afford to do this for MONTHS on end. So by April 19th after many missed appointments and reschedules I asked for a refund. He called and explained he didn't have the money anymore. Ok I'll give him a reset so we reschedule. So 3 months later after more reschedules and missed appointments along with our time frames not aligning I'm calling him out to do the right thing. Send me a refund so I can get someone else to take care of me. There is way more to this story but I will leave it at that. Please be cautious when working with Edgar as he hasn't been great as of late, make sure he does the work before you pay him, and don't put up with getting rescheduled and pushed aside when there are many other people out there that could use the business!

The installer let me know that if the tint came off or any bubbles they would replace it and to not hesitate to call and come back. It is all part of the manufactures warranty. I paid $184 and it was a lot cheaper than the competitors. Most asked for over $200 for the same job. I recommend L&R to everyone in the high dessert!
