Kind of don't want to tell a single soul about this place because I want to keep it all to myself. What a magical gem Sweetwater River Ranch is!! My husband and I eloped in Cañon City less than a month ago and we stayed at Sweetwater River Ranch. There is not one single complaint I could say! We hope to come back every year! Thank you for a beautiful, quiet, magical place to begin our life together!

We loved this place! We brought our son and his friend to camp Colorado without much of a plan. Sweet water River Ranch was a gem. Gavin was extremely helpful and a great host and was even able to accommodate us for an extra night... we loved this place so much! Bathhouse was clean and convenient and we slept amazing with the sound of the river flowing right through our sight. It was Amazing! The tent site was a dream. We stayed across the bridge right on the river. We can't wait to come back!

    My wonderful campsite...riverside.

Stayed 3 days and 2 nights and loved every minute. It was only a short beautiful drive from Colorado Springs and worth every mile. We had a tent site on the opposite side of the river from the rest of the park. The walk across the wire foot bridge was exciting. The even provided a cart to get your gear across. Camp site was nice and big with a fire pit and picnic table. The bathrooms were super clean and had plenty of hot water. The price was reasonable, about $50 for two nights. I usually camp at state parks and this place made me reconsider. I think the biggest compliment I can give is that I'll go back because I never go to the same place twice. The best part of the whole adventure though was the owners, Dave & Joan Nowlan. They were both very nice, helpful, and welcoming. I also really loved their sweet dog, Ursa. She came over and hung out with my family and German Shepherd, Kenzo.

Our most scenic campsite during Colorado trip!

Just nestle on long grassy bank we found this gem during recent camping trip. Our G1 site is absolutely gorgeous with the Arkansas river flows right next to it. Gentle sound of water rushes downstream, cricket singing, frog croaking, trout splashing... occasionally interrupted by cars passing at distance, sing a long lullaby for our restful sleep. Well, we both have our earplugs on to diminish the HWY50 somewhat! Combo restroom and hot shower are among the cleanest we have seen. We love the no quarters hot shower and the peaceful setting to wake up to. Will definitely come back for more.

Markus was knowledgeable about the river and all the questions we asked! There was a bit of a wait after arrival to start the tour. But the bus rides to and from the launch site was pretty short,

Keep in mind that we were instructed to arrive 30 minutes early, so in total we were standing around for about an hour. They had also called us the day before and asked if we could move our tour time from noon to 1 PM. Looking back, agreeing to that change seems like it just resulted in us waiting even longer. On the zip lines, you have to brake yourself by grabbing the line with one of the gloves they provide. The gloves were old, worn-out welding gloves. I had to exchange mine three different times because they all had holes in them. Even my final pair still had a hole, but I was told it was fine. The zip lines themselves were okay. There was supposed to be a drop at the end, but apparently it wasn't open for the season yet, so instead we were slowly lowered down. As for the scenery, I honestly wasn't very impressed. The views felt fairly average to me and looked like a typical desert landscape. Considering the price, I expected something a lot more memorable. I've done a cheaper zip line course in Virginia that I found more fun, with better views and a better overall experience. The cherry on top was being accused of smoking marijuana because of a supposed smell and "glossy eyes." I have never smoked in my life, so that accusation was pretty frustrating and left a bad impression on what was already a disappointing experience. Overall, I felt this experience was a complete waste of money. Between the delays, worn-out equipment, missing attractions, and the accusation from staff, I honestly wish I had never booked it in the first place.

Guide of All Time. Funny, knowledgeable, calm in the chaos, and somehow knew both river facts and dad jokes. He could lead a TED Talk on how to have a good time on water. It was our family of four (two adults, two kids -- 12 and 15, professional eye-rollers) plus another awesome family we met on the raft. Total strangers at first, river besties by lunch. Echo Canyon clearly knows how to pair people up -- no drama, just good vibes and shared paddling trauma bonding. The river itself? Just enough rapids to make us scream-laugh, plus plenty of chill spots where we could float, swim, or yeet ourselves off rocks like majestic river creatures. It was basically summer camp, adrenaline edition. Speaking of lunch: we expected, like, a soggy sandwich and a dream. What we got was a deluxe box lunch -- huge, delicious, and teen-boy approved (which is saying something). Energy fully restored. We were ready to conquer the next round of splashes. By the end of the day, we were soaked, sun-drenched, mildly sore, and so happy. JP made the whole experience feel like a guided nature documentary with more laughs and fewer khakis. Book the trip. Ask for JP. Make friends on the raft. Eat the lunch. Jump in the river. Live your best life.

We both have experience with this company from rafting the Upper Salt River in AZ. Unfortunately the water levels didn't cooperate but, the rafting company modified the itinerary to give us the best possible adventure possible. Day upper upper Browns Canyon which led to class I've and the use of duckies. Operation am not a fan but, half of our group loved them. We were then driven 1.5 hours away for our dinner and tent camping (3 miles from our put in). Ryan and Eric our guides cooked a great meal and catered to the group. We awakened to a mist and heavy fog, which we were served pancakes and sausages for a warm breakfast, and let's not forget hot coffee. We then departed at 8:30 for our trip down the Royal Gorge were we hit class in rapids, lots of class 3s, great geology, good company, lots of fun and a great experience. Ryan our lead guide and Eric did a great job for 2 days of providing us a great experience and memories. You have many choices but from a personal experience this is the best company to deal with. We are already planning next year's multi day trip.
