I live in an Asian shaved ice desert. Perhaps that's why I'm already super enthusiastic when I travel and find some. Simply the gratitude of it being present in middle America sets me up to have a good experience. Someone complained in a review about the "false advertisement" of having shaved ice as most Americans know it. It's hilarious to be that they assumed it to be what they know as shaved ice. If they had tried the Asian shaved ice, I guarantee they'd enjoy it and wouldn't have complained. If you know about other culture's shaved ice, you're open to try new things and let yourself be surprised. I digress. The shaved ice found here is the Korean version, Bingsu. It's very similar to other styles, but this one is mostly milk based. The menu is pretty extensive, including smoothies, yogurt, juice, coffee, boba tea, and of course shaved ice cream. We came for the shaved ice cream, so we tried the strawberry & mango first. It mixed the two, which surprised me since I had assumed it would be half and half separated. The combination worked beautifully. There was whipped cream, strawberry and mango syrup on top and we asked for mango popping boba. It was so delicious! The best way I can describe it is a feathery texture that melts in your mouth. We also tried the coconut one which came with condensed milk and coconut shavings. We also added strawberry popping boba. Highly recommend either/bob. Since the consistency is light and fluffy, even though the portions are generous, you don't feel stuffed afterwards. The place is spacious and has tall ceiling, making it very open. There's seating available on both floors. I enjoyed the Korean music playing and the tv translating the lyrics. The volume was just right (as opposed to some reviews out there complaining it was too loud). I probably wouldn't try to make calls inside though. The guy at the counter was super nice. He kept smiling really big the whole time he talked to us. Made me smile too. He also told us about the Korean cheesecake they have for sale. It looked delicious and fluffy so I got the coffee one. It was more of a sponge cake than cheesecake but it was delicious. Highly recommend. read more

I love Korean style shaved ice and this place popped up when we were looking for one to go to after dinner. It was super cute in there, I love the vibe and how there is an upstairs and downstairs. We ordered the strawberry mango and green tea shaved ice. They weren't the best I've had but they also weren't bad. I wish they included some toppings. It definitely isn't super authentic when it comes to the tradition Korean shaved ice. And the flavor is good but not the best. Everyone there was nice as well. read more

I can't quite remember which tea I tried, just that it was a recommendation from the individual working and that I would definitely try to remember in order to purchase a second time. My child ordered a rose boba, and we enjoyed sitting by the window. The atmosphere was super relaxed and inviting, which I don't often feel in most places. My child is often overstimulated with too much noise which was not the case. We have been back numerous times, both for quick pop-ins and also for staying a little while. We came here to study and decided to try some of their drinks this time. My cousin got the Thai tea coffee and she said it just tasted like Thai tea with a bitter aftertaste (she would not recommend). I got the Viet iced coffee and it was literally just sugar water. It was so sickenly sweet and left a gross sugary aftertaste on your tongue. This is super disappointing because Viet iced coffee is supposed to be strong, coffee-wise, with a hint of creaminess and sweetness from condensed milk. I wouldn't get it again or recommend it to anyone lol. I'd rather go to Starbucks for sugar water instead. As a study spot, the place was great. There are a bunch of tables, outlets, and free WiFi. The music wasn't too loud either. It's unfortunate the drinks aren't the greatest here though, cause the place is super cute. :/ read more

Before even getting my tea, I was appalled by the beautiful ambiance with paintings and hanging plants alike. The service was quick and it's a great place to just sit and enjoy your drinks. Good choices of teas and slushies. We prefer the frozen smoothies with original Boba, and this place makes their Boba perfectly. Just the right texture and sweetness without being bland or too hard or gummy. They have a great variety of flavors too. But the highlight was the shave ice cream. I wasn't sure what to expect but got the strawberry mango shave ice cream, and oh what a treat! They take frozen ice cream and shave it like a snow cone...this takes a great flavored ice cream and then makes it airy which somehow made it feel creamier and light. If you go here for Boba, don't skip the shave ice cream. They even offer durian flavor...but I'll save that for another day. read more

Being from Houston where I have 6 boba shops within a 1 mile radius, my boba standards are extremely high. So when my siblings recommended this place, I had extremely low expectations. Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised. I first tried the Thai Tea Coffee and was completely blown away by how good the recipe was! I will say that this shop's recipe leans on the sweet side, but you can adjust the sweetness level and customize to your liking. I also tried their mango passionfruit H2O delight and really enjoyed how weird it was. Imagine a carbonated mangonada... weird, but refreshing and unique to my tastebuds. The shop is spacious and decorated with much character. I came her post-covid so I wasn't able to go upstairs to check out the seating area, but it looks like a pretty cool place to chill/study with friends. I also enjoyed the service from the baristas. Out of the 3 times I stopped by, I was met with good service. Two of those times, I experienced a little bit of communication barrier due to language, but it seemed to be more on my side because when my drinks came out, they got my order down perfectly. I also called in a big order and they were so great about getting everything correct and out efficiently. I think I met the owners during that visit, and they were super nice and friendly. Overall really enjoyed this boba shop, and more than anything, I'm so happy Wichita finally has a good drink shop to satisfy boba cravings. Not gonna lie, those other boba spots, despite their longstanding presence in the city, completely pale in comparison to Sweetpops recipes. Would highly recommend this place. read more

Why do you have Shaved Ice on the outside of the building, and it even lists it online that you have shaved ice. I went in to find out it is Shaved Ice CREAM!!! A very cute find! The interior was impressive with the decor and design inside with the large peacock mural leading up to the upstairs dining area. The boba hear is made with powder (unfortunately), but the tea itself is not too sweet for 100% sweetness. I tried the honeydew milk tea and the flavoring wasn't entirely there for honeydew milk tea -- it was just a hint of honeydew with lightly sweetened black milk tea. Not bad, not the best. They also have a large shaved ice menu I'd like to try out eventually. However, this place wasn't too bad for the price and would like to give it another chance. read more

My friend and I come here a lot to do homework or just hang out and catch up and we really enjoy it, but this time we came in to sit down and the music was so loud we couldn't even hear one another or even take a phone call at all. My friend went down and asked her to turn it down. She turned it down a couple notches and I had to yell from the top floor to turn it down more because we couldn't even hear and she couldn't even hear me. My friend had to go down again and ask again or if she could pause it. She said she has to keep the music going, but we were the only two customers there and it was still horrifically loud I could hear the music through my noise cancelling headphones on a call. We were still the only people there by the time we just left. It was not enjoyable at all and really sucked because we had been looking forward to catching up. Not for sure why keeping the music so loud was necessary nor why it it's for the customers and we were the only ones it was very unpleasant. We were expecting fresh strawberries, kiwi and mango to top it off like the gentleman had described but got thinly slice kiwi, thinly sliced pineapple and flavored jello. This rating is for the mango shaved ice. It had a strange cereal taste to it. And what I initially thought was cubed fresh mango was actually some orange gelatinous pieces. It wasn't bad, just not very similar to traditional mango shaved ice. read more
