I had never been here before, despite hearing about Hobby Lobby for what seems like eternity. As a…read morecraft junkie, I imagined it just like Michaels. However, it is not. Hobby Lobby is a mix between Michaels craft store and World Market and Pier 1. It has fancy furniture for purchase, tons of kitschy decorations, and the occasional crafting project spewed about. I came here to make a "coffee station" I had seen on pinterest, but to my surprise the metal basket that hangs above the furniture, not even the coffee cart itself, just the basket thingy was $99! I nearly panicked and abandoned my project altogether, instead refurbishing and cleaning off my kitchen counter to make better utilization of my space for coffee needs. Hobby Lobby is the kind of place you LOVE to window-shop, and perhaps buy things that are super expensive, or if you are lucky and on sale, maybe to get ideas or abandon them as I did. I do want to go back. I think that it expanded my idea of crafting, as they have so much furniture and decor too. I'm pretty sure they have coupons too, I hope.

I had a great time visiting Duck Commander in West Monroe! Having grown up watching Duck Dynasty…read morewith my family, it was really cool getting to learn more about the history of the company and the Robertson family. The staff were so friendly and immediately made us feel welcomed. The tour price is very reasonable--especially considering it includes a free duck call! Being able to explore at your own pace made for a relaxed experience, and standing right there seeing the warehouse where so many classic TV moments happened was awesome. They also have a really neat gift shop stocked with great merchandise. If you're a fan of the show, you will definitely enjoy checking this spot out!

We HAD to stop our way through! We have watched the show and followed Sadie's journey. Willie has…read morebeen at our church a few times, we love the Robertson fam jam. The young associate manning the front desk today was on her phone and didn't acknowledge us until my husband walked right up to the desk to buy tickets. She said tour didn't start until til 3 (it was ten minutes til), so he assumed he had to wait to pay when she said nothing further. When it was three minutes past he decided to ask again and she exclaimed she was waiting on him (we had no idea what we were waiting for!). Anyway, the tour is great! It was very cool to see pieces from the tv show and Sadie's costumes from a few dances on DWTS. We laughed when we saw the carved wooden statue of Willie (remembering the episode and how it went down!). At the end of the tour it has a few plaques writing about the new movie "The Blind" that came out last month. We got a Duck Picker duck call (for mallard hens) with our paid tickets and it can be taken apart to clean after blowing on it time and time again. Super neat to actually hear it in person instead of just on tv :)
