After thinking this cute little store was closed I found them in Blackhawk Plaza by accident really. It's quite larger now and the boy section grew with it. I was just perusing and was going to buy what ever caught my fancy. The owner was there and she was very helpful. I'll admit I'm picky when it comes to my sons clothes. We don't do collars or anything sports themed. I had to say "No" to quite a few things. There were some very cute car themed long sleeved shirts I bought. We live anything skull themed any time if year and they had a selection to choose from. Oh and adorable shirts with doggies on them. A few times I was a bit straight forward when I said that some of the nautical themed things looked like prison wear. You know, dark blue with horizontal stripes. The shoe selection they have is nothing I'd buy. For some reason the style for uppity toddlers seems to be clunky leather peasant like shoes. I could never force my son into them. They are hideous! Sorry, I'm opinionated and picky. I had to restrain myself from buying a beautiful gold sequined purse. Yes, they have purses too. For myself, I did buy some really cute mini hair bows. My inner little girl comes out occasionally. Overall I do enjoy the store and the clothes are always the highest of quality.

How can you do business if you are never open. Cute clothes through the window wouldn't know because you can never get in

Reasonable prices but you're assured of classy items and brands and very quality merchandise. I can never go wrong shopping at McCaulou's. They'll even gift wrap purchases free and they do an expert job!! Great shoes!! Amazing kids selection. Tons for women. Teens. And more.... Lemme boil it down for everyone. If you say there's something wrong with this department store, then there's a lot wrong with YOU. The End.Best

I brought up that a button had come off a pair of shorts, and the initial response made it seem like it was not their problem to fix it. After I was taken aback and complained, they offered a 10% discount. Then I asked if they could contact their Lafayette store to check whether they had a skirt I liked in a smaller size, and it felt like even that was too much trouble. I also spoke with the assistant manager about the service, but I can't say her attitude was much better. What made it even more frustrating was that this happened on a Saturday afternoon, and the store was practically empty. You would think they would want to take the time to help loyal customers. To be fair, I have shopped at McCaulou's many, many times, and this was the first time I had such a negative experience. Still, it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and made me reconsider spending my money there. In this economy, with so many shopping options nearby in Walnut Creek, customer service matters. McCaulou's of Danville, please do better.

Although Blackhawk Plaza is technically an outdoor luxury mall, I consider it more like an entertainment center that is designed to relax and de-stress. I've been coming here regularly after moving here some 7 years ago and as a new parent, looking forward to coming back. I never come here to shop, since the small boutique shops are not for me. Restaurants are okay for the most part, but you're paying more for the location. The entertainment options are great: 1. Blackhawk Auto Museum is a must for car lovers, but they also have a special China exhibit and regular natural history in their main museum. 2. Ducks everywhere! You can destress while watching them swim and dive in the giant pond, and even feed them from food from Draegers. Lots of outdoor art too dedicated to ducks and geese. 3. Century Blackhawk, at least pre COVID, is an older but great theater where all seats are luxury recliners. 4. Gigantic parking lot. 5. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with Creamistry for hot days and Starbucks for any days. For casual eats, I like Beep's Burgers. 6. A playground for kids and grassy areas. 7. A Crunch! gym and a new martial arts studio coming soon. For COVID times, they offer outdoor Zumba on Sundays. 8. These used to have outdoor concerts here Pre-Covid. Even though we're still facing the pandemic, Blackhawk Plaza still has its charms. Its sad to see so many businesses close, but the ducks are always there to cheer people up.

Not many retail stores, but more fancy eateries for the upper class. There's also an Equinox, which is a famous fancy gym. Everything is almost expensive as Santana Row. Some security guards are walking around on duty. The parking garage is a bit curved when you enter and exit. I only like the Christmas tree area, which is beautiful to look at in the evening, including the water fountain in the kids' area. It's nice to walk around and take profile pictures, but not much to do until the holiday season. Overall, this is great for families to hang out and for rich people to dine in.

Shout-out to the unknown vendor who built the 2026 "Year of the Horse" photo booth. A heads-up: the space availability numbers posted outside the parking garage weren't accurate at all, which made the search more frustrating than it needed to be. It was also tough navigating through the crowds at times, especially because the toddlers in our group couldn't see anything over the crowds. That said, City Center Bishop Ranch truly offers something for everyone in the family. There's a splash pad that's perfect for little ones, plenty of restaurants at every price point for picky eaters, and even fun options for adults- like a DIY cocktail crawl for the 21+ crowd. We once made it our mission to try every margarita on property! I ran into my retired high school teacher, bartending at THE LOT (movie theater). On the shopping front, I do all my Anthropologie returns here, and I've been refreshing my inbox waiting for news about Rico Rico Taco opening here (I'm obsessed with their Oakland location). As for dining, I've enjoyed meals and treats from Slanted Door, Salt & Straw, Roam Artisan Burgers, Philz Coffee, Mendocino Farms, Marugame Udon, Delarosa, and Boba Guys. I still can't believe that sleepy San Ramon now has so many fantastic eateries and experiences all in one place. It's quickly become a go-to meeting place for our extended family.
