With the loss of these doctors, this practice has steadily declined over the years. thankfully as my kids get older, the less we need a doctor. Today, I needed to schedule a follow up appt for my son who was in a major car accident. When calling there have been over 30 callers ahead of us so we have waited only to be disconnected after waiting for 30 minutes each time. This has happened 4 times now and I am currently still on hold waiting for the 5th time with 19 callers ahead of me. I have wasted over 2 hours trying desperately to make an appt with our doctor and still can't get through to anyone online or on the phone. This has been unbelievable for a doctors office. I am currently shopping for a new doctor for my children.

Some are a little less personable and seem very cold and just not much of caring for my little toddler. But we have also had some great ones, I really just depends. Usually the wait time isn't that bad either which is good since waiting with a sick toddler is no fun. Overall the 4 years we've been here care has been pretty recommended!

Since last year, I have had frequent appointments with Dr. Maria Streck, one of MUSC's immunologists, who fortunately for me, practices out of this convenient location. What a pleasure ... park right outside the storefront (lots of free parking) and walk right in. Check in is quick and Dr. Streck is always on time. Pre-visit check in is completed on line, prior to my visit, so review by staff is quick and easy. I've had some major and still emerging health issues over the last year and Dr. Streck has been wonderful. She is patient, supportive, compassionate and explains terms in a manner that is easy for me to understand. She quickly responds to questions I send to her through the MUSC mychart portal, unfortunately, a rarity these days. While I'm not sure where my journey will take me, Dr. Maria Streck, is a constant I can count on.

Their is two sides to the waiting room, one for the sick, and one for the healthy. They have a great fish tank in the middle so the kids have something to look at! I have Dr. Smith as my sons Dr. and I just love his personality and professionalism. He likes to make light of everything and I truly appreciate that. His nurse Bianca is so awesome as well. She always has the biggest smile on her face and is so caring. I am so happy I found this place and as long as I am in Charleston I will forever bring my children here!

From top to bottom - intake, nurses, doctors, etc. - the experience was amazing. I didn't catch everyone's names, but The Kenzies and Dr. Roth are two I remember. There was minimal paperwork (likely due to the transfer), everything was well-explained, including the risks and possible side effects of the medications he received, and very little waiting. Literally my only complaint is that the 7th floor vending machines don't work right and do I even CARE when my kid got such good attention? I am so grateful to everyone here that my boy is OK and I feel confident that they gave him the best possible treatment. J.Ja

My 18 year old, high school senior, son came into the ER on April 17 with acute chest pain. They…read moredid imaging and found a 10.2 cm mass between heart and lungs. He had a biopsy on April 18. He began chemotherapy on April 23 with a diagnosis of T-cell acute lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia. He has been inpatient during this time. The pediatric oncology team here is fantastic. We have met 5 of the oncologist and each one has given my son the reassurance and encouragement needed. He has definitely had some difficult moments adjusting to this surreal news, and the care team and nurses have gone over and beyond to help him get the care he needs. My son was also diagnosed with TY1 diabetes at the age of 9, so dealing with the diabetes on top of the cancer diagnosis has made this much more difficult to navigate. Again, the entire care team has really been supportive and helpful as we navigate the predictably unpredictable nature of his particular situation.

I am a single mom and have been unable to catch my bill up. My daughter could have died the day before and when I went for the appointment I was actually turned away due to my non payment. I could not believe it... money before a child's well being. I left in tears and thank goodness the hospital saw her. I am now going to Coastal Pediatrics. I left in tears about how she spoke to me and my mother. Dr. Eglen barely explained anything she was saying, and her tone of voice was demeaning. I will never be back. If I could I would give negative stars.
