Sweet munchies are often what I crave after a drink or two--often caused by the spike in blood glucose, the phenomenon of which I learned of in my Nutrition courses. Alas, college led to nutrition, drinking, and sweets-eating. Contradictory, no?
You may have heard of this whole cupcake craze. No, I KNOW you have heard of this outrageous thing exploding in the world's "progressive" food cities. But... only a select few of you may have actually heard of cupcakes in jars! I was so pumped to see this deal online, so I snagged it right away and sent in my order. The ordering process is NOT difficult in the least. If anything happens, Carol is right on the email communication and will gladly work with you.
My voucher allowed for a dozen, which normally runs $30. That may seem steep, but consider this: $3 in gas to run to your local cupcake vendor, $0.50 a mason jar (which you keep by the way), and the quality of the cupcakes are ridiculous. I would gladly pay this any day.
The cupcakes are ridiculously moist, and seeing as they are in a jar, they last up to a week in the fridge and a couple days at room temp. But, my 2 roommates and I packed these down in a day and a half. The red velvet was our runaway favorite. With that slight tartness, the cupcakes really did well with the cream cheese frosting and chocolate bits on top. They triple layer these suckers, so there is an excess of frosting to cupcake ratio--nearly 1 to 1. So for all you frosting folks out there... enjoy. The vanilla was my least favorite, but like many Americans, I am definitely more of the chocolate individual. This brings me to my last one: chocolate. Good stuff.
