I received a gift certificate to mon petite. During check out I was told that I may not use the gift certificate as the items I wanted to purchase where on sale. I received this certificate from a dear friend, who specifically asked if I may use the certificate on sales items. The answer was yes. The certificate does not have any "fine print" nor is there any written policy. The owner is eager to take your money however not so eager to work with the customer. Very disappointed.

I was specifically looking for a tweed jacket with elbow patches, which ended up being impossible. However, they had a brown wool country blazer with suede elbow patches which still ended up being exactly the look we were going for. In fact, the picture didn't do the coat justice for how high quality and lovely it actually is. While the prices are indeed in the higher end, particularly for clothing for youngsters, they have a great sale page. I ended up getting the blazer for 30% off of the original price. It is designer clothing though, so expect to see designer prices. You won't be disappointed in the end result though - you just might end up hoping your child doesn't hit a growing spurt for a while! High quality clothing also means high quality hand-me-downs too though. Finally, the primary reason I gave Mon Petit 5 stars is for the above and beyond service I received. My husband and I often remark that customer service puts the word "service" highly into question these days so any time that anyone shows that they really care that their customers are happy I like to do everything I can to extend my praise. This is one such occasion where they shouldn't go unnoticed. I had come down to the last week to find that perfect jacket and when I finally did, I only had 5 days to get it to us in Utah. Their site only showed one option for shipping, which estimated 2-5 business days for arrival and since they are located in New York, I worried that it might not make it before the weekend. They have a "contact us" page where I briefly laid out my predicament and asked if there was any chance that I could pay for an expedited shipping option. Very early in the day I received a phone call that she was just about to prepare my order when she saw my email and was on the UPS website with several shipping options for me based on my needs. We got everything settled and I hung up knowing that I had been very well taken care of. The jacket arrived exactly when she said it would (thanks also to UPS, of course:) and looked even better than I had anticipated. If ever I need to find more anglo stylings for children again, Mon Petit will be my first stop - and most likely my last.
