I had a milestone birthday coming up and I wanted to do something special. I love going out for…read moreafternoon tea, but I have quite a few vintage teacups and saucers of my own and decided instead to have a small tea party at my house instead. I had done this in the past, but it was so much work - getting all of the ingredients, making the sandwiches, cut the crusts, etc., and I certainly didn't want to do that for my birthday. I searched online and found Yellow Rose Tea caterers, and it sounded like exactly what I wanted - someone to come to my house, set everything up, serve tea, and then clean everything up afterwards! I contacted Sarah at Yellow Rose Tea, and she responded back right away and answered all of my questions. She then provided a quote, and I chose an available date. There are several tea packages available, depending on if you just want tea, sweets, and scones, or a more substantial luncheon tea. I ended up choosing the Afternoon Tea experience which included salad and soup in addition to the traditional 3-tiered tea tray and scones. After I paid my deposit, Sarah worked with me on the menu for my tea. They have so many choices for each item - sandwiches, scones, soups, salad dressings, sweets - but it was a lot of fun choosing the items. Sarah also reconfirmed that I wanted to use my tea sets, because they have everything for the tea party if you don't - teacups, saucers, silverware, linens, dishes, etc. They also need access to a full kitchen, so they can set up everything. Sarah contacted me regularly and answered any questions I had as well leading up to the event date. Exactly at the appointed time, about 90 minutes before my tea party, Sarah and her sister (Rebecca the pastry chef) showed up wearing cute floral aprons and then unpacked the tea in my kitchen. When I say they brought everything, they really brought everything. They brought their own dish soap to clean the dishes, and tea towels, and gallons of water and ice, and all the dishes. I didn't have to do a thing. They set the table for tea, and it looked stunning. In fact, when I posted pictures afterwards, one of my friends asked what restaurant I was at, that's how amazing it looked. My friends started to arrive, and everyone was very impressed with the table as well. As each Guest sat down, Sarah or Rebecca came out of the kitchen and asked them what tea they would like from a very large selection of Tea Forte pyramid steep flavors and then each person got their own pot of tea. Throughout the party, the Yellow Rose Tea team kept my Guests filled up with tea, replacing tea bags, recommending new ones, and topping off hot water in the pots, and rinsing them out if a different type of tea was requested. From the first course of fresh salads with two types of dressings, to the yummy potato leek soup, to the cranberry orange scones with clotted cream and two types of jam, to the 3-tiered trays filled with sandwiches, pastries, muffins, and sweets, all the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The team timed everything and would serve the courses and then take everything away when we completed that course. It was like being a guest in my own home. Also, I clearly ordered too much food, so there were quite a few sweet items left on the top tier of the trays, and the team offered carryout boxes so everyone could take their leftovers home! As my friends kept saying, the Yellow Rose Tea team thought of everything. As my friends started to leave, the team cleaned up all the dishes and even cleaned my teacups and left my kitchen exactly how it had been. I can't say enough about how wonderful an experience this was. Sarah and Rebecca did a fantastic job, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

I quietly suggested that she bring us a fresh tier of food. I guess she was just following her first instinct to "get the bug". A fresh tier of food was brought, but honestly, the scones tasted stale. The bread on the finger sandwiches wasn't very fresh either. Some of the desserts had a strong artificial taste. Overall, the food was surprisingly underwhelming, and some offerings were tasteless and not very fresh. I received the wrong tea and it took a long time to get that corrected. We were instructed to turn our teapot lid over if we wanted more tea, but it seemed to be a futile effort since no one was coming to check on us. I literally had to raise my hand to get attention for our party of 5 on multiple occasions. The table decor was beautiful and thoughtful. There were a good variety of teas offered. So, any chance I get to visit a tea room, sign me up, because I will be there! It's also pretty dope that it's a black-owned & run establishment. Truly the stuff my DREAMS are made of. So, needless to say, I've visited this tea room in support a handful of times now. The tea selection is not super extensive - but it is good. They also offer other drink options - including champagne if you want to make your tea experience a "boozy" one. The food option is pretty typical of what you'd expect from a tea experience. I always recommend going with a friend or two to make it even more of an affordable experience. Speaking of affordability, it is pretty standard pricing and, one could argue, Pretty in Pink Tea Room does offer a MORE affordable tea experience in comparison to some other tea room experiences in and around the Orlando and greater areas. The food, as mentioned, is good. I've really never had a bad experience with the teas offered or the food prepared. I do not typically go to tea rooms on an empty stomach, so that may also be affecting my overall viewpoint. Parking can get a bit tricky, but there is free street parking on the main thoroughway and additional parking out towards the back of the business block that the tea room sits within. The staff is super sweet, helpful, and attentive. All in all, for it to be a small, local, black-owned tea room experience, it is quite good. The decor is, to be expected, all PINK with cute vintage moments for great photo-ops. They also have various fascinators and props you use to add to your tea room experience and for photo-op purposes. While it is a small tea room, there is ample room to move about the space. Seating is limited, so it is a wise choice to book ahead to secure seating for you and your party. Outside of that, if you have not already, please patronize their business. Miss Pat explained everything as the courses were served--a bit of history and descriptions. I don't think a crumb was left! Then, of course, we took advantage of the many gifts in the shop. Most of us found at least one item to purchase, either for ourselves or for someone special. You cannot go wrong!!!I also purchased my favorite Muffaletta mix because it has no onions in it! I truly felt like I was having afternoon tea with a member of the royal family. I enjoyed this tea's flavor and Ms. Pat came around and refilled our teacups on a timely basis. I added some cream and two sugar cubes and it was delightful. The tearoom experience comes with 6 courses *with x/10 ratings: 1st Course--Strawberry cold soup, fresh fruit, and jalapeno honey. Ms. Pat told us to pour the jalapeno honey on the fresh fruit for an explosion of flavor. She said the jalapeno honey works really well with the fresh fruit. She was not kidding! That combination might seem weird but it worked perfectly with the acidity of the fruit mixed with the sweetness/spiciness from the jalapeno and honey. The strawberry cold soup was also very fruity, fresh, and light. It reminded me of eating freshly pureed strawberries with yogurt! The fruits ((berries and pineapple) were also fresh and you could tell in each bite. We also had some pita dippers with some brie/jam! The brie combined with the jelly on top of the pita chip, was one of the best bites ever! 9/10 for sure! 2nd Course - Veggie tray. It consisted of fresh heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, and carrots with a side of homemaker buttermilk ranch. the veggies were fresh as well and I felt each snap or crunch every time I took a bite of a veggie. No complaints here! The real show as the fish dip and we found ourselves wanting more of it. Then came the deviled eggs. They were so creamy, flavorful, and soft. I wanted to take the whole tray with me!! I love eggs and here, they know how to do their deviled eggs! After about 10 minutes, I did notice my back pain was a little bit relieved n more relaxed. I will definitely return to try out the Kratom.

I understand that friendships exist outside of business, but I believe a business should remain neutral and treat customers fairly. Being asked not to return because of a private breakup left me feeling hurt and unwelcome. I truly appreciate the good memories I had there, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope the business considers keeping personal relationships separate from how customers are treated in the future.

I figured that they may be doing a Mother's Day Tea as most tea rooms do, but I had to message her on Facebook to ask as there was no information on it anywhere. She replied that she was and put us in for our reservation. The location is great- right across the a pier. There is parking outside, and after tea we walked around the park near it. While the tea seating was at noon, the doors did not open until about 12:15 as she got ready for us. Not a huge deal, but would have been good to know as it was hot outside. Once we got inside, the place is beautifully decorated. Teapots and teacups everywhere, lace and antique furniture, colorful and feminine decorations. She even had a photo station set up for Mother's Day and offered to take pictures! Since everyone was sat at the same time, the three tiers were already set up on the table, salads were set, and iced tea was poured. She came around to ask us our choice of soup (broccoli cheddar or greens and pork) and that came around as a second course with a mini quiche. Everything was great, dainty, and filling. On the three tiers was your usual afternoon tea varieties. Bottom tier were sandwiches. The cucumber sandwiches really surprised me as they were served topped with balsamic vinaigrette! I have been to a lottttt of tea rooms and had hundreds of cucumbers sandwiches and never seen that! It was amazing! The chicken salad sandwiches were on a store bought croissant and made with canned chicken (or that is what it seemed like) but they were still good! I believe she runs this tea room on her own and I understand that not everything can be home made. The scones made up for this- they were fresh, soft, and some of the best scones I have ever had. And again, I have had hundreds of scones! Unfortunately they were served with whipped cream on the side instead of a clotted cream or Devonshire cream, but they were so soft and fresh that they could go without cream on the side. The third tier was the sweets. Some macaroons, cookies, and mini cupcakes. Again, seemed store bought but the things that were homemade made up for it. The salad, soup, cucumber sandwiches, and scones were the highlights of the meal. She came around with pots of tea and poured those who wanted it, rather than taking orders. You could request types of tea to be made, though, so that was alright. It seemed like all the tea were types of celestial seasonsings tea which I love because I grew up on those. The Bengal Spice chai was made with milk which was lovely. This is the only tea room I have visited in Florida so far, but I would come back! A vanilla, almond danish, strawberry cheesecake, blueberry scones, chicken salad croissant, chocolate cupcakes and pimento cheese on a ciabatta bread. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful. Wow. we felt as if we were stepping back in time
