Sarah was so sweet from day 1! She was upfront about all costs and worked within our budget. Come the big day, she displayed the bouquets and everything out in each suite beautifully and set up the ceremony area just how I pictured. Florist give us a zelle account to send payment, we send payment, a mother later she sends an email on a Thursday stating she never received payment and had other clients she could work with that day if we didn't send payment, emailed her proof of payment immediately and proof on contract signed, they waited until Tuesday to respond with oh we don't check that account often. We had a great experience with Sweet Stems and Sara as the florist for our wedding! We booked our wedding through Wedgewood and Sweet Stems was our assigned florist. Flowers were probably the major aspect of wedding planning that my husband and I felt most uncertain about (we didn't know what we wanted, what we should expect in terms of cost, had no real flower preferences, etc.). On our first call with Sara, she clearly explained what was included in our Wedgewood package and what options we had for add-ons. She answered all our questions and made suggestions for flowers we could use to achieve the color scheme I had in mind. After we had to change our venue due to construction delays, we got on a call with Sara and talked through what changes we needed to make for the new space and again, Sara made things very easy for us. We had a couple small changes along the way (e.g., we changed our minds about corsages and where we wanted "memory" flowers placed), which we were able to easily handle via email with Sara; she always provided us with an updated contract so we could make sure everything was as we wanted and we knew the pricing. On the day of, Sara and her team set everything up beautifully. They went above and beyond by draping chiffon at our ceremony site and moving our ceremony flowers to our sweetheart table after the ceremony was over. We had Sweet Stems for our assigned florist booking through Wedgewood Weddings. Working with Sara was very easy and accessible during the initial planning. She has her appointment calendar set up so you can select what time works to meet even a few weeks out. I recommend creating a Pinterest board for the first initial meeting with Sara so that she can easily set up which flowers and colors you are looking for your vision. After the first meeting we had all our flowers, colors, orders and price set. Before the wedding Sara didn't mind meeting with me a few other times to go over extra designs and orders. At the end I felt very confident that Sara was going to take care of us for all of the floral needs. When the day came we were blown away with how beautiful everything turned out. We were extremely impressed with our ceremony arch and sweetheart table which was a big highlight in our wedding decor. All our flowers for the wedding party stayed intact the entire night and had the color pop we were looking for. The bouquet also held together overnight before taking it to the flower preservationist the next day. Sara from Sweet Stems is very thorough during your initial meeting and works to put together a vision board of flowers based on your budget. Her arrangements were beautiful, and her team set up everything quickly and efficiently. The bouquets, especially my bridal bouquet, were spectacular. I ordered one less boutonniere than I needed, and Sweet Stems quickly made one for our groomsman. I am rating 3 stars based on two disappointing parts of my experience. While none of these things were a day-of show stoppers, based on the time and effort it takes to plan a wedding, they were certainly a letdown. 1. As you can see on the style board, there was a specific theme we were going for. The colors were oranges and peaches. When I went to go see my cake on the wedding day, there were two giant ugly red flowers on the cake. There were also red flowers in my table arrangements. Nowhere in the proposal did we ever agree upon red, and it totally ruined the look and cohesiveness. While I understand there can be substitutions based on flower availability, Sweet Stems should have picked something within the color palette and not decide to pick a totally new color. 2. Communication. Communication with Sara after the initial meeting is difficult. She can take over a week to get back to you regarding questions and concerns. Her email system also makes it impossible to read her messages. Her email signature is so much bigger than the rest of the body of the email. Emails that come from her system are difficult to read because of the formatting and the length/size of her signature. It was hard to keep track of everything. Overall, I felt okay with my decision to hire Sweet Stems but the two items outlined above would definitely prevent me from recommending them to someone else. read more

Our wedding last weekend looked absolutely breathtaking, and an enormous part of that is due to the beautiful work by Sara and her wonderful Sweet Stems team! I cannot recommend them more highly enough! :) The consultation with Sara was easy breezy because she KNOWS weddings. Rose petal coverage? Wrist corsages? Boutonnières? I honestly had no idea how to choose florals for a wedding, but Sara walks you through every step. She was careful to listen to all my needs and wants. My original florist was booked and passed me along to Sweet Stems so my entire list of floral needs were already put together. Sara took my pre-made list and did not ask me any questions about it. She didn't ask me if I had any questions leading up to the wedding day or if I wanted to see any examples of florals she's done similar to what I was requesting. I never received a phone call or an email through the entire process. Reaching out to her was nearly impossible as she is extremely untimely with her responses. I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she's just bad with emails but on the actual wedding day, no one came up to me to see if I liked any of the florals or even a congratulations. I can't even say that I met Sara that day as no one introduced themselves to me. Even my other vendors asked me who they were so they could make sure to not recommend them to their other clients. I was shocked we were spending so much money with them yet not one person said a single word to me or my husband. Secondly, we had 20 pillars at our reception which we agreed would be filled with Italian Ruscus for $1100. The flowers that ended up being put on the pillars were ferns. Not only were they the wrong plant but they were also extremely embarrassingly done. It looked like my 5 year old niece put them up. I reached out to Sara to ask for some kind of compensation to make up for the wrong florals and I have been flat out ignored. A month has gone by with no response yet. I would really stay away from them as they clearly don't show to care very much about their clients. I really have been so disappointed with how they have handled everything. read more

Sara brought my vision of all my flowers to life at our first meeting and picked flowers that were so perfect for me, even if I didn't know it before I walked in her door! Prior to knowing exactly how many tables we were going to have, we paid for our centerpieces. After doing the seating chart, we realized we had paid for 4 extra centerpieces. I'm so glad that we hired Sara for our wedding! Everything turned out beautiful. First, when you submit a request for a consultation on her website it notifies you it'll be a 48-72 hour turnaround which is great because it sets the expectations of when to expect to hear back. She spent way more time than I expected with me for our initial consultation, it was very personal and she legitimately seemed interested in who we are as a couple and what our expectations were. Throughout the entire wedding planning process Sara was fantastic to work with, we updated our order at least 3x...every time she made the necessary changes without arguing (I had some fun potential vendors I looked at lol) and when I asked for her opinion on some of the changes she had good suggestions that made sense for us. She truly cares about her clients and that's very clear throughout the entire process, especially once you see your wedding flowers! Day of, she showed up an hour early to drop off our personals which was fantastic because that meant our photographer had an extra hour or so with these florals than expected! Sara also set up our ceremony and reception site (yup we had 3 locations...), all of which looked beautiful! My only complaint is that I only had one wedding to plan, so now I have to find an excuse to hire her again :P If you're in the market for a florist, without a doubt I'd highly recommend hiring Sara with Sweet Stems! I am a very big floral person so florals were a really big deal for me when it came to my wedding. I knew I wanted something bright and fun and different but wasn't really sure how to make that happen. After speaking with a couple other floral vendors I was not feeling too excited and then I came across Sweet Stems.
