We eat Thai food in our home at least once a week and rice, at least 3 times. I was going through…read morerice and Thai food withdrawals while traveling in Switzerland and, in our search, for a place to eat, we stumbled into Prik Thai--and what a find. My husband speaks Thai so that was good but the server spoke some English. We ordered Pad Thai (we usually steer clear of it in the states because they make it too sweet in most Thai restaurants but the server convinced my husband), Massaman curry, chicken and vegetables stir fry, papaya salad, and drunken noodles. Everything was delicious and what we expected, except for the drunken noodles--they were completely different to what we were used to but still very good. I am very glad that the server convinced my husband to get the Pad Thai because it was amazing. My favorite, however, was the Massaman curry; combined with the rice, it was absolute heaven. I was happy. The food is great, prices are very good, and service is quick and friendly. Our family was in their very happy place and ready to explore more of Luzern.

Yelp Review 2026 #44:…read more We came to Prik Thai because of multiple factors: it was close to our hotel, we wanted food with flavor, it's highly rated on all review websites, and it had been raining all day. I saw pictures of their Pad Thai and it looked the same as the Pad Thai I would eat in Bangkok. So, I knew what I was going to get even before getting here. We walked past this restaurant several times to/from the hotel and there's always a lot of people. It just has to be good. The restaurant is small with maybe 10 tables. To see the menu and place your order, scan the QR code. Our server brought us our drinks and she asked us if we placed our food order and we had to show her what we ordered. A few minutes later, our food arrived. But we didn't have plates. We asked for plates and the server seemed confused. We were too. Are we supposed to eat straight from the plate the food came in on?!? Chicken Pad Thai: Looked legit. Piping hot. I cut the egg-wrapped pad Thai in half to let the steam out. It had red onions which changed the flavor. This was a cross between pad see ew and pad Thai. It had a smokey/ barbecue-esque flavor to it. The portion was massive - it can be shared by 2 people. Did not finish. 2/5 Spring Rolls: It comes with 3 per order. Piping hot as well. Very oily. All I could taste was oil. Did not finish. 2/5 We waited over 30 minutes after we gave up eating to get our check so we could leave. But all the employees took their dinner break all at the same time. We had to walk to the counter so somebody could acknowledge us. Our server, who was still chewing, asked us if we wanted our leftovers to-go. It wasn't good when it was still hot and fresh. It certainly won't be good cold. My hair and my clothes smelled like cooking oil after.

I had the classic pad thai with shrimp on top, And the beers were so cheap (4.5 CHF), the rounds didn't stop! The place is quite small, and our group was large enough, that lingering longer would have been tough. It was cheap, tasty, and packed on a Thursday night- I think this place must be doing some things right. ;-)

I made a reservation because apparently this place can get super packed (which it did) but they seemed to get a bit confused. They managed to seat us without a problem though. I hate it when I feel rushed, but I kind of did, just because people were waiting and wanted to sit, and we were still talking/ finishing our drinks. BUT to be fair, they said the reservation was good till 8:30, so it's ok that we had to leave. Anyway, on to the food. I ordered the glass noodles with brown soy sauce and shrimp. The portion was big, the shrimp were huge, plentiful, and delicious, and the noodles were fine but the sauce was a little lacking. My friends Red Curry chicken was out of this world. SHOOT! It was good. It was creamy and had a really big red curry taste without it being too spicy. My boyfriends cashews with chicken in a tangy sauce was pretty good! It had a nice flavor. The first go was a little rough. I was too scared to order anything that was even remotely spicy because of previous reviews (thanks Jamie!), and it's good that I played it safe the first time. The poor couple next to us was dying with their green curry. It was actually a little entertaining watching them try to choke it down. They would take a deep breath before each bite, and then sweat, drink a bunch of water, and move on to the next one. I probably watched them for way too long...but really, they couldn't handle it. I think it's just a matter of learning what you like here, but it takes a go or two. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to come back, but I wanted to. The prices were really great and the food came out quickly. For me, it's kind of rare to find such a good restaurant with so many options (and pictures), all for such a good price in Zurich. Their seafood dishes were even pretty low. Almost all of the dishes were between 18-20CHF.
