Stopped by Sweet Cheeks Meats for lunch. They are only open from 11 to 2, and it is primarily a butcher shop, but the lunch offerings are worth making time for. We ordered a burger and a sandwich and both were delicious. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, with quality meat that clearly reflects what they do best. They have an outdoor dining area, but most people were doing takeout since it is pretty cold right now. Service was efficient and the setup makes it easy to grab food and go. Great little lunch spot that was recommended to us by our river rafting guide. Lunch is 11AM-2PM so we just missed it but amazingly they had exactly 4 sandwiches left, and they were tasty! This is actually a butcher shop but they do sell sandwiches and each day is different and you can find the sandwiches for the day written on a piece of butcher paper taped to the door. Best gem in midtown. Steak sandwich is the BeSt in town. Buffalo chicken dip is amazing. Can't speak more highly of Sweet Cheeks!!

Driving through here on the way to Grand Tetons and I gotta say that I was severely underwhelmed with the food. I want to give the benefit of the doubt that the meat and other butcher items are good, but the prepared food just isn't. It comes down to the fact that the meat was dry and under seasoned. The food isn't the worst but definitely not deserving of the price or the good reviews. Could literally go here everyday but would need to have a way to work off an extra 1500 calories!!! Rueben is a go rite on Wednesday's too and thei dogs.... Geeeeesh, they're all great!! Meat shop; if you're going in open minded and not locked into nothing.... They usually have great cuts available. If you're looking for something specific, I'd call ahead first. Service is 5 star.... Wish these guys were in San Francisco! Despite the amazing butchers and fine food we have there-- this place is exceptional. No doubt. I normally wake up to bone broth I make to start my day.. but visiting my parents for a family emergency I didn't have such resources and looked in Jackson on my way in.. but country options are few for sipping broth.. little did I know this Treasure was hiding right behind the grocery store the whole time! Amazing beef sipping broth AND pre cooked DUCK CONFIT bathed in fat ready to throw in a pan. Came out perfectly moist - an amazing feat for duck even when you roast it whole! Let alone a tailored leg and thigh AND 3 Amazing terrine options - I chose the pork variety to accommodate my darling step father for a lovely breakfast skillet. There were six fresh sausage options - I took four and can't wait to try them! They even had Wagu and too much more to describe. Nick, Nick, Nick. Great guy, took care of me, and never ceased to impress me. Ordered what I needed on short notice. From bone marrow to bison, venison, boar, and trout. Always came through with surgical precision. Sandwiches, burgers, and beef sticks were otherworldly. They certainly know what they're doing. Avoid the naysayers. I am so sad this place is so far away from our home in Norfolk, Virginia! We stopped in while visiting family for vacation to get some pork belly. We had just eaten lunch and were super bummed to miss out on the delicious sounding grab and go sandwiches they had for lunch. They let us know they also do breakfast, and would have breakfast burritos the next day. It was our plan to stop in the following morning, but then I remembered I had seen their breakfast burgers on an instagram post, and we confirmed they do those every Wednesday morning. I'm down for a burger ALWAYS and knew we had to come back for that. The Royale Wit Cheese is a grab and go (aka hot, ready, and waiting on arrival!) burger with cheese and a fried egg. They have a really delicious spicy sauce and some other toppings ready to add. Don't skip the spicy sauce!!! These were so good. Great quality meat, hot, and really held up pretty well considering they're pre-made and kept warm in foil. I think this would be a Wednesday tradition if we lived here!!!! Definitely make it a priority to stop in for the burger or one of the other breakfast or lunch options if you're in town. read more

selection was poor as it was at the end of the season. The meat that we did get was phenomenal. i'd go back again but earlier in the season.

They won't give you scrap parts of the animal (tails, chicken feet, necks, marrow bones) because they say they put all of that in their stocks and can't spare any. In our case, we wanted these items for our dog and we thought the "local butcher" would be the best place to get them from! Nope. Not here. And now Sweet Cheeks is "expanding" their business space. But instead of moving to a larger location with, like, more customer parking, they are choosing to FORCE out the neighboring business which is a Hispanic-owned local niche bakery that has been there for longer than Sweet Cheeks. Sweet Cheeks is "so successful" that they need to expand, yet they apparently cannot do so without harming another unique business in town. It would be far easier for successful Sweet Cheeks to find a new location to go to. But they are instead choosing to force the smaller, more eclectic business to leave. That's definitely the final straw. I will not be patronizing them again and I encourage others to go somewhere else as well. read more

Two days in a row we were in the little Mexican bakery next door stocking up on goodies while we watched person after person after person go into this butcher shop and emerge with what looked like a wrapped sandwich. So, we finally decided to check it out on our way out of town a few days later... after raiding the bakery next door again. Glad we did! Those breakfast sandwiches were fantastic. Homemade biscuits, home made sausage, perfectly cooked egg and a mild white cheese. What a perfect carnivore breakfast sandwich. We drove that day all the way to Seattle (15 hours BTW), ugh, on the power that that lovely breakfast sandwich gave us. MUCH better than.. dare I say it, McDonald's, and 50 zillion times faster. BTW staff was fully masked and gloved as were the customers. Jackson is very Covid aware. read more

I was in the mood for a steak but Jackson was so crowded and I wasn't in the mood to people anymore so I stopped at this place to get a steak to make for myself. The shop is nice inside, very close to downtown but far enough away that parking is easy, it's not crowded and the most important part - there is a case full of meaty deliciousness. The butcher who helped me was really nice and I ended up getting a couple NY strips to grill back at my Airbnb. Seriously the best steak I've ever had in my entire life. It was tender and full of flavor and just unbelievably good. I ate half for dinner and woke up thinking about steak and eggs before a day at the Tetons. If you live in the area or are just visiting treat yourself and stop in - you won't be disappointed. They also have local fruits and veggies (not sure if this is all the time) and a couple freezers full of sauces and all kinds of other delicious looking things. read more

Beyond delicious! I was visiting a friend in Jackson, and we stopped in to pick up two filets for dinner. We simply seasoned the meat with a little salt and pepper, grilled to a perfect medium, and finished with a little butter. The meat was amazingly tender - you could cut it with a butter knife! They also sell awesome grab-and-go breakfast sandwiches and a chef's choice of lunch dishes every day (things like sandwiches, meat plates, or tacos).
