Oryana Community Co-op is hands-down my favorite place to stop in Traverse City for a vegan meal,…read morewhether it's breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee. Oryana is truly a vegan haven. Not only do they have an amazing selection of grab-and-go items, but their made-to-order options are equally impressive. Their vegan dill wrap is one of my favorites and packed with flavor. I also love their prepared tofu slices, especially the curry and smoked varieties. Most recently, I tried the peanut tofu wrap and it was absolutely out of this world, incredibly flavorful, satisfying, and very filling. They also have fantastic options on the hot bar. One standout for me is the vegan breakfast burrito. It's only around $4, surprisingly filling, and loaded with flavor. A little messy to eat, but completely worth it! If you're vegan and visiting Traverse City, Oryana is an absolute must-visit.

This store is absolutely incredible. It's a medium-sized store but it has so much to offer and I enjoyed it it doesn't feel like on the side a big box grocery store. This store is unique and many ways and the prices on all your grocery items are actually very fair. You can expect to find hard to find vegan items, a great selection of Health Products your bathroom or just everyday life. The cafe and the little dining room in the back is such a great touch to the store. The soup selection is awesome incredible awesome featuring some vegan items. Great selection of alcoholic beverages as well! I also visited it's sister store only a couple of miles away and it's just as good but I feel like this location has a slight Edge over it. Highly recommend checking out this store if you're in the area or are vacationing like myself.

When we got there, the hostess warned us that the pizzas were taking up to an hour to make. I appreciate that they warned us before we committed to dining there! We didn't mind the wait. There are no waiters, so you order everything at the bar then they bring your food to you with a table number. I ordered the raspberry beer and it was really good. I typically don't like beer, but I love fruit flavors. As an appetizer, we got the red pepper hummus and it was meh--I didn't really like it. It was thick and had the texture of cold refried beans and instead of pita, it was served with tortilla chips that tasted like Tostitos brand. For my flatbread pizza, I chose the Wolverine which was topped with pineapple, pepperoni, jalapeños. I've never had pineapple on pizza so I can't really be a good judge, but it was alright. I liked how thin the crust was. For dessert, we got the mini ice cream bars as recommended by the woman sitting near us. They're Ice Box Brand Ice Cream Bars by a Michigan-based company. They sell two sizes: regular and mini. I chose a mini toffee crunch and it was the perfect size. It was really good. I'd love to just buy these ice cream bars to have at home!!

She knew the amounts and recommended some awesome dishes. Not only was her food delicious, it was presented beautifully or should I say deliciously. We asked for soup and salad to meet the needs of several family members. She will even take your favorite recipe and prepare it with her flourishes. Three soups included a vegetarian mushroom soup, chicken Chilli, and a beef stew that was astounding. Jill roasted the beef before adding it to this marvelous stew. I really do not know her secret, but guests could not get enough of it. The soups had wonderful homemade garnishes as well. The big green salad was a work of art and included two homemade dressings. If you can get on their busy schedule with your catering event, grab the date. You won't be disappointed.
