TERRIBLE customer service....ive worked in night clubs and bars for 15 years and this gal that was…read moreworking was hands down one of the worst I've come across in a long time. We came up for the 4th of July weekend and decided to stop in for a drink. It was later in the night and since it was July 3rd it was slammed by any means. Maybe 15 people in the whole place. We sat at the bar and waited and waited and waited. The bar tender look over at us and went back to chatting with other customers. No big deal right? Maybe they were ordering and we were in no rush. Finally she came over and we ordered and got our drinks. That where the good part ends. We finished our drinks and were chatting away thinking she would come back by. After about 20 mins she still hadn't come back. She looked over at us at least 4 times and then went back to giggling and chatting with some friends. Finally we were able to get her attention and we told her we just wanted to close out and she said sure I'll be right back. Then she went right back over to her friends and proceeded to keep chatting and laughing with the same 5 people. After 10 mins went by I tried to wave her down and she looked over at us and went right back to chatting and then what seemed like more friends came in she went to hugging, chatting and serving them. She made more eye contact with us and even when I motioned to close out she look right at me and turned back to her friends and continued chatting. We ended up just leaving and calling it at night. She seems more interested in talking than making any tips or helping any customers.

I have an enormous problem with the Wheel Inn and I'm afraid there's nothing that can fix it. It's…read morenot the fact that it's an hour and a half drive from where I live. It's not the fact that everyone there is friendly and kind. It's got to do with their wings. The wings are...outstanding! Better then any that I've had in Missoula. Or, in that matter, pretty much anywhere else. They are perfectly fried. Seasoned with just enough heat to make that beer taste extra delicious but not so hot that your mouth becomes a cauldron. There's a full menu that includes, from what I was told, outrageously good burgers. Maybe next time. Take a seat on the deck and be prepared to be as happy as you can be. If Leah is working your guaranteed service with a smile. The Wheel Inn is my new happy place.

I can't remember the last time I had a burger that good. And the server? She was a one-woman show, absolutely slammed, yet somehow she kept the whole place running -- always showing up right when I needed something, even when it looked like she hadn't glanced my way in ten minutes. I still don't know how she did it. If you're in Philipsburg, don't miss this place.

Tom, the owner, is pretty unsophisticated as well. All in all, this place can be missed. Good thing they've got a liquor license, that's the only thing keeping them afloat.

That said..... we were seated at 1815 and after appetizers and drinks, we didnt eat until 2030. Now, for 9/10 of us the appetizers and meals were fine but for me, I ordered their NY strip medium rare, Chicago style IF POSSIBLE. If they couldnt do that, as long as it was medium rare, Im fine. Unfortunately, my steak arrived almost well done. It was dry and not flavorful at all. The staff offered to make me a new one but I declined as we had already been at this establishment 2 1/2 hrs.
