Turns out Ryan is also a trainer and a genuinely great guy. Ryan is very knowledgable and personable as well as very encouraging, and he is always smiling - except when it is his turn to lift lol. Margate Barbell is primarily a powerlifting gym, and Ryan is always around to make sure you are using correct technique to avoid injury. If you prefer circuit training Ryan's got plenty of tricks up his sleeves to keep your heart pumping. It's a smaller gym, but boasts a great atmosphere and great people. I've been training with Ryan since October 2016 and have noticed a big difference in my strength and general overall fitness. I highly recommend you stopping by and saying hi to Ryan.

Yet, unlike chains, University Fitness is not a "seen and be seen" place; so, no dropping weights on the floor with a loud bang followed by making sounds to get noticed. This is not a "pick up" joint! Members go there to workout. Personally, I like the fact that there are no contracts, no deposits, etc. -month-to-month. You can have a very large class size and don't feel like you're on top of each other. The coaches are super friendly and they are attentive to every customer. They keep an eye on every client's performance and makes sure you follow correct posture and form throughout the workouts. This is a big deal to me cause if you don't do these types of workouts correctly you are susceptible to injury. HEW coaches don't lose a beat. They remember everyone's names and keep the environment upbeat and fun. This keeps me coming back for more. The location is large, clean and includes ample parking, full bathrooms with showers as well as a kid room where parents can bring their toddlers while they workout. If it weren't for the fact that my job is located down the street from HEW I would've never discovered it. Hopefully a Miami location? A girl can only hope.

A Great Location, but Some Areas Need Improvement…read more I really like this LA Fitness location! It's the closest one to my home, which makes it very convenient. The building itself is visually interesting, with two floors, and there's plenty of parking. The staff is friendly, and I also love the convenient location near several stores, including Publix, which makes it easy to run errands before or after my workout. However, there are a few areas that need attention. The restrooms could use some renovation. Moisture from the showers and steam room seems to have caused rust on the mirrors and metal partitions, making the area look worn out. Some of the cardio equipment on the second floor, particularly the treadmills, also needs repair or replacement. Additionally, the stretching mats are very dirty and seem to need a much deeper cleaning than a quick wipe with disinfectant wipes. Overall, I enjoy working out here and appreciate the convenient location, friendly staff, and spacious parking lot. I just hope management will invest some time and effort into maintaining the equipment and improving cleanliness. With a little more attention to these details, this location could be even better!
