The turf area is super cool for training one on one, yoga/stretching, body weight exercises, etc.! I have yet to try the group fitness classes out that are held in the group fitness room but maybe in the future! They are relocating to a newer and I would assume larger facility on county line, which just makes the drive a few minutes longer but I don't mind at all. They informed all of the patrons that all new equipment would be placed in the new Madison location, which is great! Another cool thing that I hope they're continuing is the smoothie bar in the front, I haven't had one yet but I've been wanting to try one. I also think its great that the womens (and I would assume mens) locker rooms have multiple bathroom stalls, showers, lockers of all sizes, and a sauna! Theres also multiple tanning beds and its a 24 hr facility! A very chill laid back atmosphere where everyone is actually committed to working out and nobody bothers you. Much appreciated mutual respect between everyone there.

I signed up while visiting family and was told If there was no gym in Tuscaloosa I would be able to cancel, come to find out, it has to be a new residency in order to cancel. I did end up having to pay out of the 2 year contract in order to cancel. On the plus side the owner did call and try to make it right by offering compensation retrospectively but the fact of the matter is you are singing a contract that is hard to end. If you are unsure, go somewhere that has a more favorable cancellation policy. Good gym and nice people but for most I would recommend a noncontractual gym membership.

It does not stop at the gym, Empire Fitness is the home of Cross FIt Madison. I do not know a lot about cross fit, but you look at the results of the statewide competition and you will find the winners at Empire Fitness.
