Subject: Unacceptable Customer Experience at Kenosha Location…read more To Whom It May Concern, I'm writing to share a deeply disappointing experience my fiancé and I had at your Kenosha location. During our recent visit, we were met with unhelpful, dismissive, and frankly, racially charged behavior from your staff. When we entered the store looking for a plant, the employees--three of whom were standing together chatting--made no effort to greet or assist us. After being asked for help, one of them vaguely pointed down a lane and offered no further support. When I later approached another employee, a woman wearing brown glasses, her response was shockingly rude and condescending. She looked at me, smirked, and said, "We are all out, not a single one we have," with a smug smile and an attitude that was completely uncalled for. The way we were treated made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was clear that we were not being given the same respect or attention as other customers in the store. Whether this was due to race or simple disregard, it's unacceptable. We chose to take our business elsewhere--where we were greeted kindly and treated with basic human decency. I hope Stein Gardens & Gifts takes this feedback seriously and addresses the behavior of its staff, as no customer should feel belittled or disrespected while shopping. If i could give zero stars I would!

I'm not sure how this place stays open with Home Depot, Lowes and Menards as options but I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you're a budget conscious shopper.

Well I tried to buy soil... $42 a yard you would think that I would get pulverized screened…read moresoil.... nope I got weeds, huge rocks and blocks of soil... see the pic... thats what I got... that huge piece of concrete is about 12" x 8"... omg.. thats right .. there was screening or pulverizing... I would go to another place for top soil... now the reason why I gave them a 2 was that I did speak to the manager and she gave me a half off discount on my next yard... but that soil was the same as the original... I know they were short on soil but then charge less and do not say it's pulverized.... thats shameful. !!!

Horrible experience with Breezy Hill. Had a landscaping project done last year by a professional…read morecontractor. Chose Breezy Hill for the perennials due to proximity to my home in Salem Lakes. Spent over $1,000 on a variety of rose bushes, shrubs, etc. Landscapers planted them, installed the weed barrier, and landscaping stones as is customary last July. Everything looked great and I was a happy camper for a few months. 2026 rolls around, and nearly half the perennials that we purchased were completely dead. They did not survive the winter. I took pictures, emailed Pam at Breezy Hill to see what they could do. Here is her response: Hi Mike, Thanks for sending these pictures. As you know we do not warranty cash & carry items and actually never warranted Perennials at all. We are confident they are healthy when they leave our care since we are all gardeners here, but overwintering is our biggest challenge with our very volatile and extreme temperature fluctuations. The way to ensure best results for this is to remove all stone from their vicinity and mulch instead, which moderates and insulates temperature and moisture for our plants, much as would occur in nature with plant debris forming the mulch layer. Stone does the opposite of this causing even worse fluctuations while also cutting off oxygen and sometimes water to the roots. If there is landscape fabric under the stone that should also be removed since that makes even worse conditions for the plants, e.g. no oxygen or water to the roots, sours and compacts the soil. I'm here to help with more suggestions any time today, July 4 until 7:00, July 5 10-4:00, July 6 after about 2:00-7, July 7 9-6. Thanks, Pam No offer to refund or replace even a portion of the plants, no offer to sell replacements at her cost or at a discount, NOTHING. Needless to say, I won't ever be going back, and I live just around the corner. Do not recommend.
