Breaking for lunch after a Tai Chi cross campus walk.
    Eric L.

This beautiful campus has it all. I was there for a day of Tai Chi straight up. Paths through the woods and gardens lend themselves well to contemplative walks and to conference destinations.

He encouraged the other students to join in with him to tease this student. My daughter told me what has been happening and so I told the principal what happened. The next day he continued to work at the school. Nothing was done about his abuse towards the student. Since my daughter told on him she became a constant target of his aggression and anger. Yelling at her and belittling her. Last week Mr.C threw a basketball towards my daughter face. She was standing up against the wall and he threw the ball violently near her and caught the ball. While yelling at her. My daughter started to cry and because of her crying he yelled at her some more. I told the principal in a meeting and she not only protected the teacher by saying she knew him for 5 years. The issue of race came into play because this is a black girl and the other girl he choked was also black. Just trying to find the source of his anger. The principal flys in a rage and tells me that since I questioned the race issue that my daughter was expelled. Don't send you child here unless you want your kids to be abused and unprotected and discriminated against by the principal Mary Rose Worrilow and Mr.C. They are disgrace to all Christians!

The staff member who assisted me did not introduce herself, offer a professional greeting, or engage in a meaningful conversation about the program. When I asked questions, I was largely directed back to the packet instead of receiving clear explanations (after requesting for piece of paper to capture nuggets, before she handed over the packet). I was also surprised to learn that the program is not accredited, despite the significant tuition and additional costs for prerequisite courses ($5,000.00 2 classes). Overall, the experience left a poor first impression and did not reflect the level of professionalism prospective students expect when exploring educational opportunities.

Then Suddenly around 94/95 There was a first year Electronics Teacher ,who used to work at RCA, who was also male started sexually harassing me. I wasn't sure as to what to do, plus I was very insulted by what was happening to me by this person. All I wanted was to get my degree as fast as possible and get out of there. I was very pissed off with this teacher to say the least. I never forgave this Person for the insult they did to me;I should have said something to the main office but I didn't want to start any trouble. I regret not saying anything at the time when I had the chance. I never went to my graduation nor did I ever go back to finish my dual electronics degree. Good riddance.

Always a really uplifting experience to walk around this arboretum…read more Awesomely, you can download tours from their podcasting link (http://www.scottarboretum.org/special/podcasting.html), which makes it really enriching. The arboretum is all over campus, but my favorite part is Crum Woods, located at the back of campus, behind some dorms. I always approach it a certain way, and like to head through the outdoor amphitheater (where graduation is held) as the start of my trek, but the official Arboretum Office is located off Cedar Ln (which is off of College Ave). You can download a map of the woods trails online, and that also shows a portion of campus. If you find the amphitheater, keep going into the forest from there, and you'll pick up the trails of Crum Woods. Dogs are welcome on leash, and when picked up after. The woods trails wind up and down hills, through different patches of vegetation (woods, field, etc.), and you'll see the nearby Septa rail line (formerly the "R3") traversing the landscape. While the specimens on campus are beautifully groomed, much of the arboretum (though certainly well cared for and maintained), is not all manicured like Morris Arboretum, or Longwood, or Chanticleer. It is left more natural, which I find really pleasant, but for those affected, please note, this does make a good portion of the arboretum inaccessible for handicapped people. And, even for those who are able-bodied, I do recommend sneakers, for sure, and some comfortable walking clothes. Your body will thank you, especially on a hot day. I think a lot of people enjoy this place for different sentimental reasons. An ex-boyfriend of mine would go there every Thanksgiving with his family to take a walk after the big meal. I have family who are "Swattie" alums, who seem to just see it as part of campus; a trip down memory lane. Some people like to exercise there, etc. It's weird, the different people I have been there with, all have such different reasons to like the place. My special tie to this arboretum is my grandfather. My grandfather was extremely into horticulture in his retirement, creating his own local orchard, to develop new holly hybrids, which he got to name and all (sorry I don't know the correct horticultural terminology for producing a hybrid). He had a good relationship with local horticulturalists, and in the 70s the Scott people and he did some sample trading (as the family story goes, I believe my grandfather got a Magnolia cutting, and they got a Franklinium cutting), so there may be some of his trees in the arboretum today. So this place always reminds me of my grandfather, and the time I spent with him in his orchard. The Scott Arboretum is really special to me for this reason.

Even if you're not a gardener it's a beautiful place to just wander the 300 acres of trails and enjoy a beautiful day surrounded by nature. Did I mention it's free! Very sweet person. The supervisors when stylist asked about my hair "go ahead you know what to do, you don't need me", that's when I had to speak up & address my concerns. Then supervisor realized I was serious. I told Her about the way she responded & they apologized. All teachers do is walk around & don't check on students to see if everything is okay w/ client. There's yelling across the school "I'm taking breakfast order for Chic fil a, who has money to order today!" Supervisors look at you as if from another planet, rolling their eyes. I was sorry my stylist was graduating & they recommended someone else for my next visit, but after experiencing horrible atmosphere my last 3 visits, I've opted not to return. Sometime you want relaxing experience & the music is too loud where people have to talk loud. It's like this every time I visit this location. The supervisor's & manager is unprofessional. Sorry I have to drive further for service at another school that's not Empire & I love the services, students are very nice, very professional & staff always walking around making sure everyone is happy & satisfied.
