Shame on You!!!! If I could give zero stars, I would!! Because of COVID-19 and the strange if not preposterous hoarding of toilet paper, we got into town and went from store to store looking for some. Everyone was out, except for Swansons. They had quite a few 4 packs of TP in generic shrink wrap at $3.99/pack! If that wasn't bad enough, it is the lowest quality I have ever seen (see photo). Price gouging is shameful and reprehensible. We will never step foot in that establishment again. read more

Wow, racisms alive and well. I didn't realize Swanson's was the gateway to hate and intimidation. While my clearly Hispanic friend was purchasing groceries she was treated rudely, and disrespected. The cashier, some tall middle aged - long greasy haired, hand tattooed man (if we can call him that) decided to not bag our groceries, even though he bagged the groceries for the person who checked out before us. In a loud moaning hateful voice, that he insisted that I must bag my own groceries. The kicker, he started to literally throw groceries down the belt after he scanned them. Not once did he look at us in the eyes or acknowledged our courteous salutations. All we could think about was how "Our poor tomatillos never have been treated like this ever before." Funny not funny. As our rotisserie chicken was ungracefully man-handled, my friend had to scream " don't throw the chicken". His reaction, he slammed the dang chicken. Well, I guess this is what you should expect from Swansons grocery store. So shameful and sad that you are a part of Washington State. this is not the gateway to the Olympics, just the gateway to some depressing, un-inclusive, jacked up grocery store that needs to look at its soul to learn how to be inclusive if they do not want to go bankrupt, for not keeping up with the times, selling man handled tomatillos. (groceries were thrown hard enough that the bags were ripped). This is a sad day and pretty traumatic experience. I hope the mayor of Hoquiam Ben Winkelman see's this and has a great talk about how damaging this is to his community. Sorry Swansons, you will never get our business ever again, and I hope anyone reading this see's how the can be treated, just for being a different shade of the rainbow. read more

Leave it to Swanson's to become famous for so many things... BAD things! Now they just jacked the price of their Coffee Mate flavored creamers to the highest price I've ever seen in any store in my life for the large size... $4.59!!! OMG, it's like $3.89 at Wal-Mart every day, and maybe 20 cents more at Top Foods and almost always on sale for $3.79 at Safeway (it's like $4.19 at Safeway when it's not on sale). What really shocked me was how I went in a week ago and Swanson's had it on sale for $3.31, then I go back the following week and it's sky-high! This is the kind of store than always made me wonder why groceries don't raise their prices very slowly, like maybe 10 cents a week or something, so customers can gradually ween themselves into their high price. Instead of giving us all sticker shock by jumping up so much so fast! read more

I purchased groceries at Swanson's today. The checker's hair and clothing looked like she just rolled out of bed (it was slightly past 4PM) and she was eating bread or a roll and dropping crumbs all over the checkout counter as she rung up my groceries. I was not impressed! Swanson's used to do so much better! read more

We called the number listed on their website to confirm the new location since they've moved since our last trip to the area. Upon answering the phone some lady blabbered what we can only assume was the name of the store and/or her name so fast we couldn't understand. After giving up on having her repeat what she had just blabbered, we then asked simply "What is your address?" She had us repeat at three times while sounding completely dumbfounded! She asked "What do you need that for?" Seriously? "What do you need that for?" What kind of a question is that when we're trying to FIND YOUR DAMNED BUSINESS! We decided to find another store to pick up our supplies at! So Swansons, if nothing else, please train your staff on how to PROPERLY answer and phone and answer the SIMPLEST of customer service questions! read more

I live in Seattle and I visit this grocery store on occasion while passing through. New ownership has taken over the store and it looks much better than it used to when I last visited over a year ago. Lighting is brighter and the store looks cleaner overall. Customer service is friendly and just the right amount of attentiveness to customers without being overbearing. In general, the store appears to be under better management. read more

I disagree with the other rating. The prices here kind of suck. There are some things that are average (and maybe some things that are a little cheaper...maybe) but some of the basic items are more expensive. The coffee is a lot more expensive and so is the soda unless there is a good sale. Even then, the sales at Safeway are usually better. Earlier tonight I was in there and the roof had a leak and some nasty water dripped on me. I say nasty because it smelled really bad. The employees are usually pleasant and the bakery items are yummy. read more

I moved to Hoquiam this past summer and I shop at Swansons here because it is close by and I walk, I don't have transportation. I find the store clean and pleasant and the clerks very friendly and helpful. There is a "fair" selection of items that are average priced for a small community and most of it is fresh and good quality. I did get some bad garlic one time. I do wish there was more selections of the things that I like, of course, such as goat cheese and soy meats, large size vanilla instant coffee instead of small sizes, but I understand it is a small store. Overall it's a good store and I'm just thankful that is close by. read more

First off let me say when you live in a small town like Hoquiam you grow to love your small stores like Swanson's. It is no Safeway or Top Foods, if you want one of those, you have to go to Aberdeen.. keep driving down the main drag till you are almost out of town you can't miss them. But you won't get the same hometown feel there as you get at Swanson's. When you walk into Swanson's the checker's know your name, and they ask you how your kids are and how the new roof is coming on your house.. it's a nice feeling. They also make sure that your favorite brand of coffee is on the shelf... Less than 2 miles down the road, at the Safeway the checker could care less who you are and if they are out of your favorite coffee they'll tell you to drive another mile down the road to the TOP foods. Swanson's has hometown feel in my favorite hometown :) I heart Swanson's, nuff said. read more

Prices almost as high as a small convenience store. People pretty helpful. Occasional good deals in ads and sign out front.

The cashiers are nice and friendly. The prices are not. Whenever I go grocery shopping I drive right by Swansons. They are WAY over priced. You can find what you need at any other store for MUCH cheaper. read more

Very unhappy!!!!! Been shopping over 40 years, wanted to order some chicken for dinner, called for a price so I could so I could buy some, was refused!!!!!! Can't give you a price, sorry!!!
