When our turn and because we were a new patient, our Nurse took the time to ask thorough questions about Lucy's history and purpose of the visit. Then took her right in and within 15 minutes, she was back with very little anxiety. Prices for services are comparable to others in our area, but for some reason, this felt like a "home-town" Doctor visit despite not being able to enter the building. Unfortunately, my experience surrounding the euthanasia of my dog Paisley completely shattered that respect. Paisley was my best friend. I picked her out, named her, and loved her for her entire life. I found a tumor on her over a year ago and repeatedly told my family, offered to schedule vet visits, cover all costs, and handle transportation. Those offers were refused. I was not informed when the decision was finally made to euthanize her. I had to find out from someone else. I was promised the opportunity to be involved, to ask questions, and to be present for the discussion and goodbye. Instead, I was forced to watch over FaceTime while Dr. Murphy and my mother repeatedly left the room to discuss matters without me. When I tried to ask if they could wait so I could be included, I was talked over and told they would proceed anyway. The rest of my family was given notice and allowed to be present. I was intentionally excluded from my own dog's final moments. Regardless of circumstances, the lack of empathy, communication, and basic compassion shown to someone grieving the loss of a deeply bonded animal was devastating. This experience caused immense emotional harm, and I would never recommend this practice to friends or loved ones. Paisley deserved better. So did I. Edit: I also find it concerning that this practice appears to ask clients to edit older reviews, which has the effect of burying negative feedback. That feels inappropriate and raises serious concerns about transparency.

The staff at Prince William Animal Hospital (PWAH) was patient and sweet with him. The vet spent almost 30 minutes in our room, sitting on the floor with him and throwing him treats, all to build trust and report with my dog. She took the time to try to make it a positive experience and establish a relationship with him to build on in the next visit, so that we might start to address his fear / aggression at the vet. While it was a bit expensive (~$70 for a wellness visit), it is worth it for the staff's bedside manner, quality of care, and investment in your pet's wellbeing. If you have a dog with behavioral issues (anxiety or fear), I cannot recommend PWAH enough. Going to the vet has been an ordeal in the past (other vets wanted to sedate my dog at every visit), but now I feel as though I've found a place invested in caring for my dog and helping him learn through positive reinforcement and trust building that the vet is not a place to be feared.

It has been a couple of months since my 1yo Samoyed, Olly, came back from the 10-day in-home…read moretraining that Mike and Jerri offer. At first, I was very nervous about letting someone have Olly for this long. He would take off after everything and was very hard to control. But, they made sure to send pictures of Olly on his daily excursions. I would see him sitting at various stores and I was delighted to see he was doing so well. When we went to pick him up, I couldn't believe how much he had improved. His basic obedience was on point, like never before. He was also more polite in unexpected ways. He's a very vocal dog, and we noticed that while he spoke just as much, he was literally softer in volume, as if he now understood that he can be too loud. He stopped going into bathrooms and creating messes. Best of all, I was able to take him out into the world on a leash and prong collar, and we both enjoy it. I will admit, I am bad at keeping up with the training - which is why I decided to do this program in the first place. OIly is definitely not problem free, but he's way more of a delight to own and, if I do better with the training tips Mike and Jerri offered, then I'm sure I can get him back into shape in a week or so. But, truthfully, just the fact that I can now take him anywhere I want with me and have a pleasant experience made it worth the price and the 10 days of separation.
