I was crossing stuff off on my list before a big European trip and wanted to get my international…read moredrivers permit. I've heard you don't need it, but that some car rental places want it and its good to have if you get pulled over. I wasn't event planning on stopping in, but I was in the area on a weekend and decided I'd get it out of the way. I wasn't sure if they needed additional paperwork, but if I tried and had to come back, at least I'd know. I didn't realize but they were closing just as I walked in because they shut down at 4pm on Saturdays. I mentioned that I was looking to get my IDP and the guy said to come on over and he would take care of it anyway. It was very nice of him and saved me the trip of coming back. I filled out a form, he took some passport style photos (which were free because of my AAA membership), and gave me the info I needed. Within 15 minutes I was walking out with my permit all ready to go and some personal tips on driving internationally in the countries I was heading to. It was an excellent experience.

Not happy with AAA Car Care / Mount Pleasant - Tried to use for a Tire Rack installer and though…read morethat part went ok I asked they check a small antifreeze leak that turned out to be a water pump problem. They gave me a vague quote of $4000 to $7000 dependent on what needed to replace suspecting all hoses and thermostat, etc will also need replaced when get into it. When I tried to question and understand I received attitude and a take it or leave it response. Took it down the road to an Audi dealer and got a $3k quote (this is where you'd expect a high quote) and then to another Euro car sevice guy in town who did great repair job for $1800. Don't let the AAA affiliation make you think this shop is trustworthy. They are not.

I was with State Farm for almost 5 years. I had a few minor claims (windshield damage from rocks,…read moreetc.) and then one accident where I crashed into a ditch near by apartment building in October 2013. This was just a few weeks after my fiance died, leaving me as a single mother. State Farm called me shortly after to let me know I would no longer be receiving comprehensive coverage. Thanks for that phone call during my time of intense mourning and trying to arrange all the affairs of my now deceased fiance. I had someone/something take a huge gouge out of the passenger side near the door about 9 months later. That jacked up my premium once again. This past October I did rear-end someone in a minor fender bender. Premium went up once again and while I was not pleased with the continued knee jerk reactions after relatively minor damages/incidents, I stuck with them because I knew eventually my premium would come back down. I received a voicemail about a month ago from an agent who asked me to call her regarding my policy. I called her back, left a voicemail, and didn't hear anything back. I get another missed call/voicemail today stating the same issue. I call back and once again she's not available, but calls me back this time and tells me that my policy isn't being renewed. It ends in 3 weeks. The only explanation is the fender bender back in October. She claimed a letter was sent (nope) and that she had sent emails (also nope). I've never dealt with a less customer service oriented company. Learn to treat people with some decency, especially during difficult times.
