This was Hands Down the Best experience! Loren was our guide, was very knowledgeable about the gators. They even have names for them and know where the larger ones hang out. Loren explained a lot about the eco-system of the swamp. Never was I worried or uncomfortable being my1st time around maybe 7 gators at once. The Big-gins have different territories, so there where many stops along the way. Highly recommend.

If you're in New Orleans for a few days you have to venture off the beaten path for a few hours and take a Swamp Tour! When are you gonna be in Swamp Territory again? We took a tour on a Monday Afternoon. A big bus came and picked us up from our Hotel and took us to a little shack off the freeway, looks sketchy but they don't really need much there. We took the small 6 passenger air boat. Our tour guide was Rodney. He was very entertaining and informative. They give you gnarly earmuffs to block out the sound of the wind as you're gliding through the water. We came across at least 10 different alligators. Rodney has different names for all of them. He teaches you how to make a "Quack" sound while he feeds the alligators right there off the side of the boat a raw chicken drumstick. At one point I got to feed an alligator and pet it on the snout (it's on YouTube if you search Swamp Adventure). Rodney also pulled up on a bank and got his stick and pulled in the HUGEST brown spider you will ever see in your life... It crawled over my arm... I was scared $hitle$$ but I trusted the guy. He stuck it in this old man's ear... it was quite the experience. I will never forget it! Great time!

Great tour and experience from start to finish. Captain Gary was an awesome guy who knows how to keep the tour fun and interesting, a real mans' man kind of guy. Here is the checklist to follow: -Bring Cooler and Beer -Put Beer in Cooler -Get on Boat with Cooler and friends and Captain Gary -Ride on boat very fast -Enjoy the air and the view -Enjoy a few beers -Enjoy a few more beers -Talk to Gary, ask Gary any question you want, let Gary tell you things (best southern accent in town, and really funny guy) -Let Gary feed Gator, and let Gator almost get on boat -Ride some more and drink some more Sound fun? I thought so, now go do it

My mom and I did this tour as part of a package through Tours by Isabelle in April. SO. MUCH. FUN. You get a taste of the swamp, see the flora and fauna, have the air rushing through your hair as you fly down the water, and if you're brave hold an alligator chick. (Note, I was not brave but my mom was.) Rodney our driver and guide was funny and informative. He even stopped at one point and picked us a lily when he saw us pointing at them. The Airboat ride was exhilarating and I'd suggest wearing dark clothes because you may get a bit of splash on you... and well... remember... it is a swamp. They provide you with ear protection because the 454 engine is quite loud. But you make stops along the way to look at points of interest, birds, plants, trees, flowers.... alligators, so you can easily hear one another once the engine is off. The gators get CLOSE. So... be prepared to have them sidle right up to the boat. I'd suggest keeping all of your limbs IN the boat as you never know what they might want to chomp on. Note, I would totally do this again! Thank you, Rodney and Swamp Adventures for a great time!

This airboat tour was the highlight of our trip to Louisiana. Our guide was very knowledgable and entertaining. He knew where to find all the alligators - we saw a ton of them! We saw a snake and lots of big spiders along the way too. This is a MUST for anyone in the area!

Can't recommend this tour enough. Our tour guide was personable and fun. His extensive knowledge meet for an informative adventure. We brought our two children ages 16 and 11 and they were thrilled and terrified!

What an amazing adventure. Seriously a must do! Captain Rodney knows his stuff. We lucked out and had the boat all to ourselves. We saw all different types of alligators, birds, turtles, fish, and trees. The fan boat part was amazing. We could maneuver into tight spots and areas without much water. Again this tour is a must do.

Capt. Rodney is the best! We had such a fun time on our airboat ride and he is a wonderful guide. The landscape is truly beautiful and there is a lot of nature to behold. Will definitely be going back next time I have more out of town visitors and will be requesting capt. Rodney.

Derrick even jumped in the water to grab a baby gator for us to hold! NOTE:I am holding it lightly but appears like I am squeezing its neck.

This tour was one of the most incredible things I have ever done! Derrick our guide knew everything about gators (including biology - he was Steve Irwin x1000) and all the related wildlife. We saw at least a dozen gators! I have never gotten so many comments on my social media -- the awesome videos and pics had everyone back in LA freaking out and planning a trip to NOLA. Highly highly recommend.

I was worried that if it were too cold we wouldn't see too many alligators. The weather turned out to be perfect, in the low 70s, and we saw lots of alligators. There is a gift shop where you can buy drinks, snacks, and souvenirs. You can look around the property while you wait for here toward it again. There is a fenced pond rehabilitating injured alligators, a pool with baby alligators that they let you hold at the end of the tour, and lots of information about local wildlife. Our captain was fantastic. He gave us a lot of facts on the wildlife as well as history of the area. He was great at making sure everyone on the boat could see, as he would rotate the boat in a circle making sure everyone got a "front seat." He brought food out to the feeding sites of raccoons, squirrels, and wild hogs, which brought them all running. We saw an old trappers cabin, an old teepee made of palms, a mass grave, and the grave of the local video priestess that died in 1915. And, of course, the alligators. At the end of the thought, the captain showed us some of his pets--turtles, crawfish, and a baby alligator named Bruce, which we got to hold.

We decided to book and drive…read moreourselves there since it was a bit more expensive for us to drive than pay for three people to go from their office in downtown. They told us to be there 15 minutes before our tour start time and we were there 20 minutes before, but the tour guide was 10 minutes late past the start of the tour itself. We thought we were in the wrong place and tried to get in contact with the tour agency. Got voicemail the first time and it was this random woman's number, but then called the same number a minute later and a guy told us the tour operator was on his way and then needed to pick up the supplies. It seems that they should have communicated that earlier and they should have a better system in place. The launch from the boat area was into a busy area right under the freeway and our guide basically was like hangout there and wait for me. That foreshadowed the rest of the tour for us, he basically was distant from us most of the tour, either way in front or way behind and we were a total tour of four people. There was no discussion about what we would see beyond him showing us alligators. At one point we were in the deeper section and a massive log was in the way, he went over and faced the opposite direction while the four of us struggled to get our kayaks over the log. He told us to go around and we got stuck because it was more elevated on the side and just sat on his phone the entire time while we helped each other. I get we were a group coming together, but it felt like he just told us which way to go, but didn't do any real guiding. We even helped him load and unload the supplies from the kayak. I think this tour company needs to be better organized and train their guides on what they should do to become tour guides.

I booked an extended Manchac Swamp kayak tour during a visit to New Orleans in late February,…read morewanting to see the swamp and its wildlife in a more personal and eco-friendly way than the more popular airboat and alligator-feeding tours. My partner and I have some experience paddling and wanted plenty of time to see wildlife and get deep in the swamp for the best scenery, and for us the extended tour was the right choice! I'd recommend it to visitors to New Orleans who love nature, the outdoors, and/or getting a fun and unique workout in during vacation. We were on the water for about 4 hours. Sunscreen, sunglasses, shoes you don't mind getting wet, and PLENTY of water are a must! There are stops at a truck stop right before and after for the bathroom and buying any drinks/snacks, plus a stop on dry land during the tour. Our guide Nick was clearly dedicated to both paddling and nature even outside of work, and our tour felt less like a scripted performance as some tours can be and more like a buddy was showing and telling you things he was passionate about. We saw several small alligators, barred owls, hawks, turtles, and water birds. It was unseasonably warm so the reptiles were a treat to see, and it was awesome getting to see owls out in daylight which I'd never be able to pick out myself. Bring binoculars if you have them! My only small complaint, which has nothing to do with the tour itself: the AI-generated content on the company's Instagram page is kind of weird. Photos and videos from actual tours would be more honest and enticing!
