She picked us up and made the ride enjoyable before we even arrived. Once there, we checked in at a charming little house with a cute gift shop while we waited for our boat. The airboat tour itself was incredible! We got to feed marshmallows to the alligators, learned so much about the swamp, and met some amazing gators, including Benjamin and Stone. The highlight was getting to pet Pee Wee, the adorable 18-month-old alligator! The staff was knowledgeable, fun, and made the entire experience memorable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting New Orleans. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

The boat ride through the marsh felt exciting--almost like drifting quickly over water while still being smooth and safe. We were able to get up close to alligators, which was an unforgettable experience. Beyond the scenery, the guide shared interesting insights about wetland conservation, the preservation of Louisiana's coastline, and local history and culture, which added real depth to the tour. Overall, this is a fun and engaging activity that's suitable for the whole family. Highly recommended.

There are a few airboat tour companies near New Orleans, but we decided to go with Airboat Adventures due to the price and positive reviews online. I booked the tour online through their website. If you want something more private, go witha smaller airboat, which is a bit more expensive than the large airboat. But because we're chickens, we decided to go with the larger airboat that held more people. The tour offers transportation to their location by bus for an extra fee, but we decided to drive our own car since they provided on-site parking. I do recommend driving your own car, because the drive was absolutely scenic. A lot of green and we got to see all the beautiful houses built on stilts on the way. Not to mention, it's about a 30 min drive from New Orleans. When we arrived, there were plenty of parking. They also had bathrooms inside and on the exterior of their store, which were very clean! Inside the store, you can check out a live albino alligator and take photos while you wait. You can also wait outside on the dock -- plenty of seating and you can grab a drink at the bar. The tour was amazing and so was our tour guide. The weather was nice, we saw a lot of gators sunbathing a bald eagle, and its nest. It was more than what I expected! Everyone in my party had a great time and more memories were made! Side note: Airboats are very loud so make sure you keep the headphones on!

She made it feel like you were visiting with a friend who knows the good stuff about New Orleans, the swamps, etc. We saw gators, owls, all kinds of birds and, though it was raining, it was gorgeous. My partner and I have some experience paddling and wanted plenty of time to see wildlife and get deep in the swamp for the best scenery, and for us the extended tour was the right choice! I'd recommend it to visitors to New Orleans who love nature, the outdoors, and/or getting a fun and unique workout in during vacation. We were on the water for about 4 hours. Sunscreen, sunglasses, shoes you don't mind getting wet, and PLENTY of water are a must! There are stops at a truck stop right before and after for the bathroom and buying any drinks/snacks, plus a stop on dry land during the tour. Our guide Nick was clearly dedicated to both paddling and nature even outside of work, and our tour felt less like a scripted performance as some tours can be and more like a buddy was showing and telling you things he was passionate about. We saw several small alligators, barred owls, hawks, turtles, and water birds. It was unseasonably warm so the reptiles were a treat to see, and it was awesome getting to see owls out in daylight which I'd never be able to pick out myself. Bring binoculars if you have them! My only small complaint, which has nothing to do with the tour itself: the AI-generated content on the company's Instagram page is kind of weird. Photos and videos from actual tours would be more honest and enticing!

He cautioned the 3 of us that the front seats would get wet--- yes indeedy, wet fun. We saw baby gators and their mama who made hissing sounds. The other small group got to hold a baby but our driver said best not to upset the protective mom. He told us that out of 200 babies only a small percentage will survive. He gave us a better show: did you know raccoons and gators like to eat marshmallows? He even fed the raccoon with its outstretched paws and told the huge gator to give him a kiss. The gator opened its mouth twice with sharp teeth and let him put his face there. He even pet it on its head. Couple more gators came swimming fighting for their share of marshmallow. He told us they could fight to their death. Never tipped anyone a Ben Franklin before but our tour driver earned it.
