We opted for a bus to come pick us up at our hotel and the driver Hillary was terrible! Doc booked a small , air boat tour in the swamp. Only 5 of us on this boat and rest of bus had different colored bands from us. Our tour took longer and most of bus were already waiting for the smaller tour folks. He took extra steps above and beyond to personalize our trip in the swamp. He cautioned the 3 of us that the front seats would get wet--- yes indeedy, wet fun. We saw baby gators and their mama who made hissing sounds. The other small group got to hold a baby but our driver said best not to upset the protective mom. He told us that out of 200 babies only a small percentage will survive. He gave us a better show: did you know raccoons and gators like to eat marshmallows? He even fed the raccoon with its outstretched paws and told the huge gator to give him a kiss. The gator opened its mouth twice with sharp teeth and let him put his face there. He even pet it on its head. Couple more gators came swimming fighting for their share of marshmallow. He told us they could fight to their death. Never tipped anyone a Ben Franklin before but our tour driver earned it. read more

This was by far my favorite experience in New Orleans. The bayou is peaceful and beyond beautiful. The staff was fantastic. They sell snacks and a variety of drinks, prior to leaving the dock. The boats are in great shape and seem to be very well maintained. There are alligators everywhere, but I always felt safe. It is hard to express how eye opening the tour was. I wasn't too sure about the swamp tour since I got it on Groupon, but our tour guide Matt made the experience really fun, and the company of the group of girls I was with made it even better! They lure the alligators with marshmallows and even give them names. Someone in our group mentioned not eating gators after learning how sweet they are, but all was forgotten when I had alligator and duck sausage gumbo at Boussards, lol. The tour was super informative and we all had a great time overall. I would highly recommend them in a heartbeat. This time, we didn't get to try the neighboring restaurant, but everything on their menu sounded delicious -- even the smell coming from the place was tempting. We kicked off our Go City 2-Day Pass with a full adventure-packed day: 3 activities + 1 dinner = totally worth it. Activity 1 started with New Orleans- Swamp Gators- Ultimate Swamp Adventures Westwego, LA This gator-filled swamp tour was such a highlight! Normally $32, but included in our pass. We booked the 9:45AM tour and took an Uber ($35 one way). Drivers warned us: Westwego = strict speed zones. We even saw two cars pulled over! Our captain, Nick, was awesome. He's been doing this over 4 years and gave a fun, info-packed tour through Bayou Segnette. He tossed marshmallows to gators (yep, real ones!) and joked about their "sweet tooth." Turns out Louisiana has had only one fatal gator attack ever! Who knew? The tour ends with a beautiful photo stop, and we tipped Nick $20, totally earned. Seafood Market + Ice Cream Break After the tour, we strolled to the nearby Westwego Shrimp Lot (recommended by our Uber driver), then crossed over to Family Dollar for a much-needed ice cream break. It was really humid and hot! Then we went back to the French Quarter by uber for our next Go City adventure: a river cruise on the Creole Queen. read more

Seriously enjoyed ourselves on this adventure. Made reservations for an airboat 6-8 people tour ($88 ea) at 9:45A on a Friday. Arrived early to check in and when we finally boarded, we were in the front row of the boat. Our boat pilot was Capt Dan, a young 'fella. He spoke clearly, loudly, was humorous and willing to answer all questions, no matter how silly they might have seemed. He was knowledgeable of what to do and what not to do and gave us plenty of instructions on staying safe. We visited with alligators - who like marshmallows - and a momma raccoon, who also likes marshmallows! He was careful in the small areas and let loose in the open, producing water sprays which felt good on this hot day. There were a few birds to see, jumping fish and some turtles, but the bayou wasn't quite as active on the day we went. We returned a bit early, but that was fine with us; we saw what was there to see, and we can always visit another time. read more

Captain Trey was amazing. I can't rave enough about our adventure here. I am really not a bug person and usually freak out when close to one but I must say this was still so much fun. He was knowledgeable, funny, and interactive speeding through the swamp at times. My 14 year old had a blast and their was another 13 year old on the boat too so anyone under 18 had to wear a life vest. If you question safety, I'm here to answer that and say they are very safe. Captain Trey tried to even find a baby gator for our teens on board to hold. He definitely knew what size gator was okay to bring up. I love that he seemed to treat these alligators with respect, giving them names and marshmallows as a treat kinda like a pet rather than an animal in the wild. He was well worth the money paid and then some which we gave in a tip. Thanks for a most awesome adventure and up close experience. read more

I did NOT want to visit a swamp and no one was going to convince me to go!! Yall, I am so glad I had the opportunity to do this tour. Captain Nick was fantastic; he provided educational tidbits of the swamp, alligators, answered questions, allowed us to feed marshmallows to the gators (safely of course), he even kissed a few!! That is on brave man!! I loved his stories and you can tell he really loves sharing his knowledge. I was on the pontoon (covered) boat. I loved that he called the gators by name and more importantly HE RESPECTED THEIR SPACE!! I highly recommend this tour, we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. The shuttle driver Hilary was so nice and that accent of his...my, oh my! I have no clue what all he said, but he got us to and from safely! I lost count of how many gators we saw, some even swam next to the boat until we reached another gators territory LOL! We also saw 2 Anhinga birds and insects that are native to the area. It was a little cold that day but the guide was knowledge and we still saw lots of interesting things.

We booked a airboat excursion for 4 (2 adults and 2 children). Did it on line and there did not show an age or height requirement for airboat rides. Paid it in full. Arrived in time and went to check in and we were told at that point that our 2 boys were too small for the airboat rides. You have to be over 48 inches. This did disappoint us, they were very nice and put us on the pontoon boat. There was a huge price difference and we now have to wait 3-5 days for refund. Praying it comes in and I don't have to deal with that. I hope they update their website to correct this issue, from how they acted it must happen often. Our pontoon boat excursions was good, not crowded on boat, our guide had a lot of knowledge to share. We saw lots of alligators, but no handling of them. Which did disappoint us some. Will update if refund doesn't come in. read more

Captain James was a wealth of knowledge and a lot of fun, I brought my Mom and Grandma who is in a wheelchair and he made sure she was taken care of and took the time to talk with us after. Amazing Time!!! This is a must stop if you are looking to have a great time. Let me start from the beginning. The wife bought 2 tickets for us from "All about Orleans". We met up at a hotel around the corner from us along with other and got picked up by a bus that fit about 30 people. You get dropped off right In front. To the left is the office to check in. Once you check in they give you a wristband and you wait under the patio until they call your color of wristband. You jump on an airboat that seats 4 and has NO seat belts or restraints. Lol. The guide explains some safety rules and how the alligators can eject themselves out of the water and onto the craft. Then you take off into the swamp and we made some stops because there were some poisonous snakes hanging from trees on the banks. I actually was the only one that didn't see them but everyone else did. You see gators, Bald eagles, snakes, raccoons. Our guide stopped in some marsh and located a mama croc and her babies. He jumped out and carefully grabbed one and we all took turns holding it and I talked to him a bit, told him I love him or her. They are the best thing to hold and appreciate what we have here on earth. Once we were done about an hour later, he carefully put him back with his family and we left just as we came. We headed back and during the trip coming and going he will step on the gas and you get to feel the water hitting your face and knowing you could fall out cuz your not strapped in when he makes those turns. You can take drinks along with you as well. I recommend this business for their EXCELLENT service, ease of booking, and the total experience. I really like how they appreciate and preserve the wildlife, ecosystem, land and waters. I will forever remember this trip and activity and I suggest you come down here and create your own. read more

This was so fun. My kiddos loved it. When we come back to NOLA we're definitely doing this again. We opted to have them pick us up from our hotel which I don't usually do but it's not just a ride. On the way there the driver gave us a mini history lesson on a bunch of things we drove by making the price so much more worth it. Every aspect of this experience was awesome and worth it. Cody answered all our questions and taught us a bunch. I am only knocking off a star because a rude tour guide decided to run into another airboat which ran into our airboat, thinking it was funny. It's not funny when you have kids on board and could have gone overboard! Overall, I'd recommend the tour and our guide (in the photo) was great. He made the kids laugh when he was driving fast on the airboat and turning corners fast. He knew where all the alligators were and pointed out turtles on a log (one or two would fall into the water). The best part was holding the alligator. Another guide caught it and handed it to our guide. Everything was great until the 3rd tour guide ran into the airboats - a little bit of warning would have been great but I guess he wanted to be responsible for settling down my kids after falling into a swamp! Since March is still cold, the alligators aren't typically in the water so wait until the warmer months to see them in action! I'd recommend you wear a hat and sunscreen for the tours on the airboats. read more

Anyone coming to New Orleans should do an airboat ride at least once! My husband and I absolutely loved every minute of this experience. Our captain was able to share a lot about the marsh, and even gave us tons of information about gators. He surprised us with a baby gator, and offered for us to hold it. We were able to spot a couple, but he did warn us since it was a little on the chilly, there would be a chance we may or may not see any gators. Fortunately, we spotted one on the way back to the docks just sunbathing. Overall, such a wonderful experience, and such an amazing memory for our trip to NOLA! read more

Shuttle driver Hillary was wonderful. He arrived at our pickup location on time and was so kind and welcoming. He had us laughing during most of the ride to the swap tour location, because of his amazing descriptions of NOLA landmarks. Hillary is awesome. He made the trip to and from the swamp your super enjoyable with his eclectic descriptions and funny way of responding to questions. My friends and I couldn't go to NOLA and not do a Swamp Tour. Before planning your visit, know that the actual tour is not exactly in New Orleans, it's in Westwego, Louisiana which is about 30 minutes away. They offer a bus for around $20 per person; however, it's honestly cheaper to carpool in an Uber, that what my friends and I did. Make sure you sunblock, water, and dress for the weather if you're going in the summertime. Luckily, there are a number of cute little shops outside the tour boat dock where you can stock up on any items you may need. The tour itself is very relaxing. I could tell the tour guide was very passionate about Alligators. I really learned a lot, and he even passed around some jewelry made from alligator bones to everybody on the boat for us to look at. It was very pretty. We saw several alligators around and got lots of good pictures. All in all I really enjoyed riding around in the boat with my friends on the Ultimate Swamp Adventure Tour. I recommend that you go at least once if you live in or plan to visit NOLA. read more

We decided to check out a swamp tour during our trip to NOLA and I'm so glad we did! It's a really unique experience. We elected to go on a smaller boat and due to our positioning in boarding the boat, we sat in the first row. The first part of the ride is slow. I was wondering why you can't be pregnant or young, etc because it was pretty tame. As soon as we got out a bit, our captain let it fucking RIP and we went FLYING. I felt the need to hold onto my sunglasses and I definitely would not recommend wearing a hat. He did some really shifty shit and it was super fun. He hit a patch of some floating mud stuff and, due to our positioning in the boat, we were COVERED in a spray of mud, as you can see from our photos. This was obviously less than ideal (I'm still trying to figure out how to wash GF's down coat) but part of the experience. We were in NOLA during a cold snap in January so there weren't many gators, we actually only saw 2 or 3 and some birds. He brought us to some swamp "homes" if you will which, unfortunately, have been pretty fucked up from the most recent hurricane, but it was really cool to see how some people live out there. Our guide was very knowledgable and able to answer all of our questions. He gave us a really interesting perspective about swamp life. Because of the weather, our trip was a little bit disappointing but it was such a cool experience anyway. read more

We went on the basic guided boat tour, not the airboat, and still had a great time! Despite some issues getting the boat started and having to switch boats. It was a good experience. The guide had some good facts and was sure brave to pet that massive wild alligator! But he's the pro and sure made learning about all the wildlife in the swamps interesting. It was hard to hear him due to the speaker maybe not working super great on our switched boat, and his super thick Louisianan accent, nonetheless he was super nice and made it enjoyable. Would love to come back and try the restaurant someday too! When we were leaving we could tell it had to be good because the whole parking lot was full for dinner! The one day out of the trip where it rained, just so happened to be the day of the swamp tour. Damn weather! Anyhoo, we had our ponchos and were ready to go. The tour started about 10 minutes later than scheduled despite us arriving 30 minutes to start. A good 3/4 of the tour was riddled with rain that felt like needles hitting your skin. No fault of the tour guide or company. The ride back in was better as the rain subsided so we were able to see and enjoy the scenery. Will go back on a warmer day to get the full experience as the speed of the boat was very exciting...just couldn't see anything. Obviously, no photos...due to rain. lol read more

Was a nice last minute adventure! It was raining a bit, so got some kewl weathered ambiance! The ride could have been super cold if I wasn't wearing weatherproof shoes and coat! Captain Ron was very knowledgeable and had an authentic NOLA accent! There wasn't a huge amount of animals, but the whole tour was kewl!
