We had a terrific time. The boats were well maintained and they followed safety to a tee. What impressed me most was the sincere care and knowledge this team has for the environment and maintaining it. I would highly recommend this as your next airboat ride. read more

Would recommend it was so much fun. The tour guide was very informative. We got to see a lot of alligators and they were huge! read more

We were looking for a tour that was more authentic and in a smaller boat so we could get a little closer to the nature we were hoping to see. This is it. I would say it was more like going on a boat ride with a friend than a commercial tour. Our guide, Loren was fantastic. You could tell in the way he presented the swamp, the animals, the environment, that he is a true conservationist and has a great respect for the wildlife there. We saw many animals and too many alligators to count. The boat ride was so smooth it was like we were on glass. After crossing the country and visiting several places our family unanimously say this excursion was the highlight of our trip. We would definitely do it again. read more

Had a blast on this tour, recommend if you want to ride an air boat through the bayou!

This was Hands Down the Best experience! Loren was our guide, was very knowledgeable about the gators. They even have names for them and know where the larger ones hang out. Loren explained a lot about the eco-system of the swamp. Never was I worried or uncomfortable being my1st time around maybe 7 gators at once. The Big-gins have different territories, so there where many stops along the way. Highly recommend. read more

Great outing today with Swamp Adventure! Saw lots of alligators and learned more about the swamp. Can't wait to do it again

10 out of 5 stars.... ok I'll settle for 5 out of 5 but to be honest this adventure was amazing. Captain Rodney is the man and made sure to provide laughs along with showing us some amazing things in the swamp lands of New Orleans. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area as you'll get to see spiders, turtles, and some up-close and personal encounters with alligators! read more

If you're in New Orleans for a few days you have to venture off the beaten path for a few hours and take a Swamp Tour! When are you gonna be in Swamp Territory again? We took a tour on a Monday Afternoon. A big bus came and picked us up from our Hotel and took us to a little shack off the freeway, looks sketchy but they don't really need much there. We took the small 6 passenger air boat. Our tour guide was Rodney. He was very entertaining and informative. They give you gnarly earmuffs to block out the sound of the wind as you're gliding through the water. We came across at least 10 different alligators. Rodney has different names for all of them. He teaches you how to make a "Quack" sound while he feeds the alligators right there off the side of the boat a raw chicken drumstick. At one point I got to feed an alligator and pet it on the snout (it's on YouTube if you search Swamp Adventure). Rodney also pulled up on a bank and got his stick and pulled in the HUGEST brown spider you will ever see in your life... It crawled over my arm... I was scared $hitle$$ but I trusted the guy. He stuck it in this old man's ear... it was quite the experience. I will never forget it! Great time! read more

Loads of gators and lots of other wildlife too. Captain Lauren was awesome and kept everyone entertained. Loads of fun.

Great tour and experience from start to finish. Captain Gary was an awesome guy who knows how to keep the tour fun and interesting, a real mans' man kind of guy. Here is the checklist to follow: -Bring Cooler and Beer -Put Beer in Cooler -Get on Boat with Cooler and friends and Captain Gary -Ride on boat very fast -Enjoy the air and the view -Enjoy a few beers -Enjoy a few more beers -Talk to Gary, ask Gary any question you want, let Gary tell you things (best southern accent in town, and really funny guy) -Let Gary feed Gator, and let Gator almost get on boat -Ride some more and drink some more Sound fun? I thought so, now go do it read more

My mom and I did this tour as part of a package through Tours by Isabelle in April. SO. MUCH. FUN. You get a taste of the swamp, see the flora and fauna, have the air rushing through your hair as you fly down the water, and if you're brave hold an alligator chick. (Note, I was not brave but my mom was.) Rodney our driver and guide was funny and informative. He even stopped at one point and picked us a lily when he saw us pointing at them. The Airboat ride was exhilarating and I'd suggest wearing dark clothes because you may get a bit of splash on you... and well... remember... it is a swamp. They provide you with ear protection because the 454 engine is quite loud. But you make stops along the way to look at points of interest, birds, plants, trees, flowers.... alligators, so you can easily hear one another once the engine is off. The gators get CLOSE. So... be prepared to have them sidle right up to the boat. I'd suggest keeping all of your limbs IN the boat as you never know what they might want to chomp on. Note, I would totally do this again! Thank you, Rodney and Swamp Adventures for a great time! read more

This airboat tour was the highlight of our trip to Louisiana. Our guide was very knowledgable and entertaining. He knew where to find all the alligators - we saw a ton of them! We saw a snake and lots of big spiders along the way too. This is a MUST for anyone in the area! read more

What an amazing adventure. Seriously a must do! Captain Rodney knows his stuff. We lucked out and had the boat all to ourselves. We saw all different types of alligators, birds, turtles, fish, and trees. The fan boat part was amazing. We could maneuver into tight spots and areas without much water. Again this tour is a must do. read more

Must do for anyone spending time in NOLA. Only a short distance from the city and great way to see up close the bayou and wildlife guided by top notch guides. The airboats are the best way to see these treasured areas and our guide Eric was amazing at giving us up close and personal experience with alligators. I have experienced other tours and they seem to know exactly where to go and keep safety priority number one. I can not recommend this adventure enough. read more

Swamp adventures is the best!!! Highlight of our entire New Orleans trip. Luckily, we squeezed in by calling the morning we went on our airboat adventure. The lady who operates the phones and scheduling was super nice and communicative. We were picked up on time and had a comfortable ride to the headquarters. Please pay more for a small group tour! We wanted to be frugal, but I'm so glad we paid extra for the small group! Also it's BYOB so bring some booze! Our tour guide was so awesome. Captain Gary! He's the man!!! He was cracking jokes and had us laughing the entire time. November is not the time to see crocs, but Gary tried his best and he pointed out some little guys to us. The airboat was so fast because we had a small group and it was a beautiful ride! Book a small group airboat tour, ask for Captain Gary, bring booze, and have the best time! read more

Our group had an incredible experience on this tour! We had a bachelorette party of 12, all of us were thoroughly entertained. Our guide was informational and interactive with our group. Although it was in the upper 90's, the air from the boat made it comfortable. I wouldn't let the heat stray you from going! They are accommodating and let you take your own cooler on the tour. Definitely recommend! read more

Loren took us out and dropped so much knowledge on us. He reallllly knows his stuff. We saw a few little alligators . This tour was awesome.

I loved this part of my vacation. Captain Rodney was our tour guide and he was so knowledgeable, a sweetheart and had a lot of knowledge about the area. His family has been in the area for a really really long time and you can tell when he shares his stories with you. Captain Rodney gives you the full experience, gets to work early to find a baby gator for you to take a picture with towards the end of your tour, feed the gators (he has names for them), and has no fear for spiders (yes I screamed like a girl when the spiders came out). The small boats are really fast and loud. Bring a jacket - even in early October, it was soooooo cold. If you choose to wear your visor or baseball cap, make sure you tie it down because it will fly away if you aren't holding it down. The best part of the tour was the friendly demeanor of Captain Rodney, the spider crawling out of his pocket, and of course, picture taking with the baby gator! read more

Capt. Rodney is the best! We had such a fun time on our airboat ride and he is a wonderful guide. The landscape is truly beautiful and there is a lot of nature to behold. Will definitely be going back next time I have more out of town visitors and will be requesting capt. Rodney. read more

This tour was one of the most incredible things I have ever done! Derrick our guide knew everything about gators (including biology - he was Steve Irwin x1000) and all the related wildlife. We saw at least a dozen gators! I have never gotten so many comments on my social media -- the awesome videos and pics had everyone back in LA freaking out and planning a trip to NOLA. SCAM!!! Stay away. Shady business practices and unprofessional! My wife and I were on a local plantation tour (Whitney Plantation, the most amazing tour) and asked a few staff about a swamp tour and they mentioned a place by the side of the road on our way back to New Orleans. Neither person knew the name of the company, simply offering a phone number (googled the # to find out it was Swamp Adventures). I called and was informed that they had space for a 2pm tour. We arrived as another tour had just come in, and the event at that time seemed promising. We were told the tour would be an 1hour and 40 minutes long (100 mins). That being said, neither captain who was there seemed to want to take us out. After being introduced to our captain, he asked what time it currently was and stated, "Great I've got 8 minutes to relax". First flag went up. At our scheduled time, we headed out after a quick briefing from the captain. I spotted a gator after about 5 minutes or so on the water. Turns out this is one of their "pet" gators, Goliath, whom they feed regularly and keep around to provide an authentic alligator experience with. The captain then proceeded to add a turkey neck to a small PVC pipe with a wire on the end and feed the gator directly. I was shocked at this and seemed counter to everything I was raised (in FL) to understand about wild gator behavior. Second flag went up and this was before he tried to lure the gator towards the boat for my wife to pet it. After moving on down the main channel, we then went into a few thicker wooded areas, spotting only 1 single fish. That's it. Simultaneously, the weather was changing (usual afternoon thunderstorm approaching) and the captain received an alert on his phone about lightning in the area and so we headed back to the dock. TOTAL TIME ON THE WATER WAS 30 MINUTES. We got back to the docks and immediately the woman who booked the tour for us started to turn on the Southern charm. "You guys will have to come back and see us next time you're in town", "You make sure to ask for me and make sure you bring your grandma too"(unclear why she mentions grandparent here). After informing we were flying home the next day and were in the area for a conference, she stated, "Well maybe you'll come back next year for a conference". This was all a prelude to the inevitable which she knew was coming: we would ask for a refund. After my wife finally asked for a partial refund, we were told "It's our policy, we can't refund after the boat leaves the dock." It rains everyday in the Southeast (esp LA) from June through October, almost without fail. Swamp Adventures is likely making a killing off of these partial "tours", by luring unsuspecting tourists out for the afternoon, even with inclement weather approaching, and offering a half-*** tour. They then save on their costs (fuel, human capital) by stating it's their policy to not refund and netting the increased profit. The woman was in her truck pulling out almost before we were. We were not informed of any cancellation policy and it is no where on their website. Beware! This is a terrible shady business, with horrible customer service. We felt like we got played as tourists since we didn't live in the area and likely wouldn't be back. STAY AWAY! read more

We took the small (6 person) airboat tour and it was interesting. Very loud, very fast at times (you will lose your hat or anything else not tied down-I was worried about my glasses) but they give you hearing protectors to wear when going full throttle and believe me, you need them! We saw quite a few baby gators, a barred owl, turtles, blue herons and (drumroll please) a 12 foot gator (see photo). Of course, no guarantees you will see him - this is NOT the zoo - but the guide (he never identified himself) was adept at spotting wildlife so chances are good you will see interesting stuff. If you have back problems, don't like fast and bumpy, don't go - but it was fun and we would probably do it again. read more

Good tour, saw a a total of 5-6 gators. Two of them were at the dock already. I was really looking forward to holding a gator chick, but they didn't have any. If you want to hold one, don't book at this place. Other than that our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I know the title says swamp adventures but when I booked this tour I assumed this was more like an alligator tour with some swamp information. This tour was more like a swamp information tour with a small side of alligator. read more

Solid tour. Take the 6 person boat if you can, it fits into some of the smaller swamp trails. I had such a great time going on a swamp tour. I had gone on one similar in Florida before, so I kind of knew what to expect. However, Swamp Adventures was way more fun and entertaining. I really liked our tour guide. He was friendly and gave a lot of information about the gators. We also got to see A LOT of gators along the tour. I was most excited about getting to hold a baby gator. He was so cute! I definitely recommend trying out a swamp tour! read more

Absolutely wonderful tour. Lived in New Orleans for a couple of months now and finally got around to a swamp tour. Our tour guide was funny, knowledgeable, and laid back. We had a chance to pet the gators and it really couldn't have been more fun. Highly recommend. Don't miss out. read more

i was a little skeptical at first when the shuttle bus that picked us up from our hotel dropped us off at this small shack in the middle of nowhere. but the airboat tour of the swamps turned out to be one of the most fun things i've ever done in my life! i didn't know the airboats could travel so fast and have so much maneuverability -- i felt like i was on a roller coaster ride. a very COLD roller coaster ride (it was mid december). i can imagine the wind is a welcome respite from the heat and humidity at any other time of year though. i was a little disappointed that we weren't able to see any alligators because they were all hibernating during the winter. so make sure you plan your trip accordingly if gator encounters is something important to you. that being said, the tour was still really fun -- very educational and always great to be immersed in nature. our boat captain, gary, was so insightful. he had so many interesting stories to tell -- of the swamps and of life in general. and as you can imagine, it wasn't at all crowded or hard to get a reservation during the off-season. be sure to book well in advance if you go during peak tourist seasons (ie. mardi gras all the way through end of october)! read more

This was a great experience! We had 4 people in our party and we saw our fill of gators! Captain Rodney was awesome! We were able to feed the gators up close and enjoyed the boat ride through the swamp. We were able to bring our beer on the boat which added to the fun! read more

Swamp Adventures - Boat Tours Near Me - Luling, Louisiana

Duck Dynasty meets New Orleans! I really had no idea what to expect when my friend suggested we do the swamp tour but it was so much fun. It did seem sketchy at first when we booked through one of the tour companies at a booth near the pier and that they can pick you up from wherever you want to be picked up. We decided to have them pick us up from near the pier since we were going to be down there. Definitely was a bit confusing for us since we weren't sure where to stand. When the bus was just a few minutes late we got worried and started calling Swamp Adventures they assured us that we were good and sure enough the pickup van did arrive to pick us up. It ends up being about 45 minutes to get to the swamp so I would recommend that you use a bathroom before your pickup if you have a small bladder like me. The location does also have toilets and they were surprisingly really clean. The airboat and swamp has a duck dynasty type feel which is kind of neat. Even though our pickup van had 8 people including my friend and I they do not put all of you on one boat. They split us up into groups of four so everyone had a good seat. For us, we didn't get to see too many alligators as the weather was cold and they don't come up as much. We saw a few tiny ones and our guide did try to get them out but those suckers are fast! There were a couple big alligators (I can't remember the names the company gives them but they do have names) that we saw about halfway through the tour. At first, those two did not move at all and totally looked like big plastic toys! One of the alligators did move its eyes side to side but it still looked so fake. I kept thinking the whole tour was a gimmick and taking the pics in front of them was so cheesy. They both looked so fake I was a bit annoyed but after our guide threw some raw drumsticks at them, the female did move her head. Who knew the real thing could look so fake. He did say because of the cold weather and probably just having eaten they are trying to regulate their temperature by laying still. I would definitely recommend in the colder season to wear your hat, gloves, and a jacket as it does get chilly on the boat. read more

Great experience. Absolutely worth every penny and more. We saw and fed gators with chicken pieces, saw blue heron, bald eagles, silk spiders. Shuttle picked us up from our hotel downtown, provided a cooler for drinks and snacks. Captain Rodney was wonderful, knowledgable and just a smart and funny guy. Defiantly an unforgettable experience. read more
