I also checked a branded shop which quoted even more. Paul quoted me to replace one caliper but when I went to pick up, he said "I changed both calipers but for same quoted price". Paul gave me ride as well to pickup the car. Extremely satisfied with their service. More over Paul is a Gentleman you can trust and never charge anything extra. Usually I don't write any review but their service force me to write a review for them.

They dropped us off at a Walgreens and AAA said they would take 2 hours, so we searched. It turned out, Paul's Carteret Gulf was right around the corner. They sent our guys to get us and within 2 hours they fixed our pulley and we were on our way. They were so efficient and if you ever have car problems around here I would advise you to go here.

A couple of months later a totally different issue occurred so I took it back to them and they fixed it, before I even left the shop a loud banging noise that was not there before, so I went back in and told him about the noise and he said to bring it In later because they were about to close. He said no worries it's an easy fix the latch behind the ac may have just cracked. It's common he said. I told him that I would bring it the following week and he said no problem. I brought it in the next week and another gentleman was at the counter. I don't know how but I knew he would try to haggle me. Which he absolutely did. I told him to just take the car out the shop since I realized I would never stop coming back. Never again!

I called and the gentleman was very nice and his calm demeanor put me at ease. I was about 5 minutes away and they got me in quickly. The customer waiting area is spacious and very clean. There are magazines to read and they had on Drew Barrymore's Talk show. The price was very reasonable. I will make sure other service members know that this ecological option exists here, versus trying to drive around and add additional mileage just to burn off fuel.

Perhaps he is still the owner on paper, none of my business. I believed that the new owners were, Julie and her husband. I did not go to GT to make friends, but high quality work. However, Julie is rough, arrogant and lacks any semblance of HUMILITY and appreciation of customers. I stopped going to GT as the front desk woman "Julie" was consistently rude and dismissive. As to my standards and expectations, Customer Service is not limited mechanical work, it also includes respect, kindness, being treated with dignity. IMO, the "Owners" response to my comment reflects an unwillingness to accept constructive feedback, the need and desire to try to insult, rather than embrace, hence, reflecting a lack of humility, or ownership, full stop. In possessing a civil litigation background, I ask questions, not intended to put one on the defensive, as it may. Julie's husband (a seasoned mechanic) is kind. I just could not tolerate Julie, who works the front desk, and for the most part answers the phone calls as well. She displayed impatience with my questions. She is the conduit to the mechanics. In any business, the front desk gives the best impression on the appreciation of customers or lack of. Julie should be grateful and thankful that GT Automotive is doing well. This is demonstrated in having a high bar on respect and kindness to all customers. My comment should not be misconstrued as a vendetta as alleged, nor do I consider my comment a "bad review" as further alleged. Which needs proper torquing and proper placement for filter and oil ring to avoid oil leaks compared to the plastic cap and covers that tend to break and leak when not fitted properly. I am posting this review regarding an engine replacement performed by G & A Auto Diagnostic Wheel Alignment Center Inc. that has resulted in ongoing mechanical problems, safety concerns, and unresolved financial issues. On January 24, 2026, I paid $7,067.15 for an engine replacement. Immediately after leaving the shop (within approximately 2,000 feet), the engine began backfiring and the check engine light came on. When I contacted the mechanic, I was told to "break the engine in" and informed the engine came from a junkyard with an unknown history. The next day, I discovered a significant oil leak. I reported it and was told to return the following week despite the severity of the issue. Since then, I have had to return multiple times due to persistent problems that remain unresolved. I am currently unable to drive normally without repeatedly clearing the check engine light, raising ongoing safety concerns. I was later told the engine had not been tested prior to installation, which in my view is a major deviation from standard repair practice. After all these months, the mechanic (JR Cisneros) has now presented three options: 1. Remove the engine, issue reimbursement, and allow me to source another engine for him to install, while still charging labor costs 2. Wait for the one junkyard supplier this business uses to locate a replacement engine 3. Keep the defective engine and have him rebuild it for a separate labor fee Additional issues include: * Disconnected wires hanging beneath the transmission * Incorrect battery terminal installed, creating safety risks * Flywheel sold as new but appearing old and rusted * Charges for parts that may not have been necessary, as original components were reportedly reusable * A recently purchased alternator found to be damaged after the repair Communication has been inconsistent, with limited meaningful updates despite multiple attempts to follow up. I was eventually given options not disclosed at the time of service, including engine removal with conditional reimbursement dependent on a third party, an indefinite wait for a replacement, or paying additional costs for a rebuild. As a result, I have incurred additional transportation costs and lost income opportunities due to the lack of a functioning vehicle. My request for a full refund and reimbursement remains unresolved. Based on my experience, I would advise caution when considering major engine work from this shop due to unresolved mechanical issues, lack of transparency, and ongoing safety concerns.
