We asked for that to be made spicy. Our children both ordered butter chicken. We also ordered naan for the table, one garlic, and one cheese. The meal started with a lentil soup. It had a slice of lemon in it which gave it the most delightful lemon taste. I love lemon in my dal so that was a great start to our meal. That was a great indication of what was to come. The lamb was out of this world. Perfectly cooked. So tender. This was the meal I was waiting for. For lunch I had gone to a touristy German place and got lamb that was just so disappointing. However lunch buffet options are VERY limited, not even basics like Tikka Masala offered. Base options from usual Indian Lunch buffets are missing. Menu is elaborate, lots of options, but mostly meat, not too many vegetable choices. Dhal soup was a total letdown. It's just a flavored water with way too much salt and not a single lentil in it. Dhal or even dhal soup always comes with lentils. (At least they offered to bring a new soup when I didn't eat it + 1 star) Bread is also not very authentic, tastes like toasted tuerkish bread, not like homemade indian oven bread. Not in a bad way, just not authentic. Chicken Vindaloo was pretty on point and good, also good spicy level. Chicken Tikka Masala was also pretty good (even though not the typical Tikka Masala taste). Portion sizes were normal, not small but not huge either. Prices run around 12-15 per main dish which includes basmati rice. It's about the same as other indian restaurants in Heidelberg. When I came for dinner, I wasn't aware of the buffet that was going on and ended up ordering my samosa and lamb curry. Don't think they had lamb curry, but they still had a number of decent dishes. My waiter gave me naan, which I didn't realize was a separate charge. Really think naan should be part of the meal. I was also given tea, which I didn't order, and told the owner which she didn't charge me for after I brought it up. Since I was told the buffet was on Sunday, I came back for lunch only to find out the buffet is Sunday dinner only. Course, the buffet was only for dinner, so ended up paying the menu price. Expensive lunch. The buffet information is not on their Web site. Found that very annoying.
