She employs multiple different adjustment techniques, which means she can adapt her treatments to each individual's concerns and comfort level. First ever visit to a chiropractor!…read more I tore my ACL back in college, 10 years ago now (?!), which (after reconstruction and re-tearing) has turned into a decade of lop-sided life. Since then I've noticed my left side body compensating for my ACL-less right, and then add a year plus of working on farms (read: lots if crawling, digging, bending, lifting, etc), as well being pregnant, and now having a toddler who needs to be held at any given time, I felt I needed to finally get my spine checked out to help me with the feeling of misalignment and uncomfortable and chronic tightness I deal with, especially in my shoulders and mid-back. Dr. Rhett at Venture Chiropractic is great! He explained everything thoroughly and in a way that showed his passion, knowledge and care. He took me through everything step by step in the examination, including the motion tests and the thermography mapping of my spine. It was so cool to see the heat radiating off the right side of my spine (showing inflammation etc)--crazy how different it was to the left. He wasn't pushy when he suggested I get a Gonstead alignment and he explained what an alignment would entail, and asked if I would be interested. Of course I was, and it was very simple. He was gentle and afterwards I definitely felt things had shifted for the better. He explained that it's not a quick fix, that he likes to try as little manipulation for maximal outcome, but that bodies take a bit to adapt because of bad habits, postures and muscle tightness etc, which makes sense. So we'll see how my body reacts in a more long term way to chiropractic care, but if I can gain some better range of motion in certain areas and decrease my neck and back tightness that is a win. Overall happy with my first visit and looking forward to spine comfort progress. So glad to have received care from Dr Rhett who was very kind and professional and made the experience easy, comfortable and informative!

After about 7 sessions over 2 months, he told me that I could just come in as-needed, because he'd already noticed a lot of improvement. I used to sit at a desk all day, and my lower back has been giving me problems for years. I recently moved to San Diego, and I work from home, so now I sit on a fitness orb to help build my core and back muscles. I still do the daily stretches that he recommended, and have even reached out to him to send me recommendation letters and general tips. He set me up to come back in just a few more times over the following weeks before transferring to an "as needed" basis; not an intense adjustment package of multiple adjustments per week for months like the one of the other chiropractors I saw, who shall remain nameless.
