The Grass Valley CA library is a historic Carnegie library that is on the National Register of a…read morehistoric places. How awesome is that!? Very! It's a functioning library (part of the Nevada County library system) and historic building. The library is tiny. The first floor has computers and laptops, magazines, newspaper, fiction and non, music CDs, and movie DVDs. They have a self checkout. Downstairs in the basement is the children's section. The library hosts children's programs. There is no dedicated parking lot, it's all street parking. If you are in the area and appreciate historic buildings, drop on in. The librarians are use to folks stepping in to check out the architecture and to use the restrooms. But do keep in mind it's a library.... ssshhhh. HISTORY lesson: It was built in 1915 with a Andrew Carnegie grant. He funded the construction of about 1700 American libraries during 1883-1929. Grass Valley was awarded $15,000 which is equivalent to about $380,000 today. The town constructed the library near the childhood home of its distinguished citizen, Josiah Royce (1855-1916). The library branch was named in his behalf as well. He was born in Grass Valley. He was a smarty pants, a world renown philosopher. He was a Leading proponent of his time in Absolute idealism dealing with the meta physical view. Huh!? That is too academic for me to understand. He graduated form UC Berkeley and went on to teach at Harvard.

Eh! I have nothing against the Superior Court of California-Sutter. All Court Employees have been…read moresuper professional and the latrines are surprisingly clean and fully stock of toilet paper. It's just that going to court gives me anxiety as the reason why I deducted 1 star, LOL! But I do know we have them for a reason. As their mission states, "To resolve disputes assuring that individuals are not deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law or denied equal protection of the law." (Superior Court of Sutter). Sometimes you win a dispute/case and not pay anything and win your freedom or anxiety of owing a fine/bill, sometimes you lose a dispute/case then pay the fine, and sometimes you are summoned for jury duty just to watch the trial. The trial may not be Judge Judy like trial where there's some humor into the case, but the judge does show some slight humor in regards of tying the case back to the Law if found guilty. As the judge will not show favorites between the defendant and the prosecutor. Tips to win a case: 1. Provide important key evidence! Such as photos, videos, documents, and/or witnesses to make your dispute much stronger to win a case to prove yourself innocent. 2. Hire the best lawyer. (optional). 3. Be confident and have good body language. Speak professionally (avoid curse languages). 4. Treat all court employees nicely (never show aggression). 5. Be prepared to share your story in a clear concise manner, provide timelines if possible and stick to it if you'll be summoned again. 6. Stay kind and calm at all times. 7. Attend your trial if you can make it. If you can't make it (re-schedule in a timely manner preferably 2-3wks in advance prior to your trial date). Tips to lose a case: 1. Don't be over confident or too cocky. 2. Steps from 1-7 from "Tips to win a case", just exactly the opposite. LOL! Important note: Attend your jury duty if you've been summoned! It's part of being the world's greatest American Citizen aka You to partake. Plus who knows, you can sorta mentally prepare down the future if you were to be in the same situation as the defendant on how to win/lose a case if you were to be in their shoes. Namm sayinn.. I recently visited the Yuba City DMV and had a very frustrating experience. The office only had one…read moreregistration kiosk available, which caused an unnecessarily long wait. Many people, including myself, came prepared to quickly handle simple registration renewals. Still, instead, I was stuck waiting close to an hour because the kiosk was occupied by 20 or more people, most of whom were elderly and non-English speaking and needed help. I ended up helping these people who aren't technology savvy, as the DMV staff wouldn't do anything, because I value my time. What made the situation worse was that the staff would not allow payment for registration at the counter, even though several windows were open. It seems unreasonable to restrict customers to only one method of payment when the line is so long and people's time is valuable. Allowing registration payments at the counter would have sped up the process significantly and reduced the frustration for everyone waiting. The DMV already has a reputation for long lines and slow service, and experiences like this reinforce it. While I understand that kiosks are meant to streamline services, having only one machine and refusing counter service defeats that purpose. I hope the DMV reconsiders this policy and provides more kiosks or allows counter payment as an option, so customers can have a smoother and more efficient experience in the future. Solution: Install more Self-Service Registration Kiosk to replace the counters. FOR F-CK SAKE! If the people behind the counter are so lazy and see someone just playing on their phone. What exactly are their role at the DMV counter? Is this how my "renewal registration" dollars are spent? What a waste!
