I'm not sure whether they meant the tackiness to be tongue-in-cheek, but being someone half-Thai who stays in Thailand countless times, I take all this in good fun.
But on to the food. You'd expect really bad, Norwegianized Thai food, right? I did, and I was surprised that it tastes pretty good! I had Green Curry which didn't hold back on spices, perhaps a little heavy on the coconuts. It's probably hip to downplay their food, but I have to say it's really not that far off from real Thai food. I wouldn't mistake it with a real fiery Tom Yum in a dirty tent in Bangkok where I grew up in, but it's decidedly better than a generic "Thai-and-Sushi restaurant" in Norway.
