We tried calling several times to make a reservation, but no one answered, and we couldn't find any online booking system. It left us wondering--how do people even manage to get a table here? When we arrived, we saw an empty table with no reservation sign on it. However, the chef saw us, came over, and abruptly said, "We're full!" before we could even ask a question, then walked away. One of the staff members also completely ignored us, which felt quite rude and unwelcoming. No matter how good the food might be, this kind of attitude makes us not want to return. They seriously need to improve their reservation system and reconsider how they treat potential customers.

I have been here 3 times now already and the third time has only confirmed the first impression I…read morehad when I first came here. This place is for me the best sushi place as far as quality/price is concerned. The quality of the sushi is just exquisite and definitely equals that of some other restaurants who offer the same freshness and variety but for double the price. Seriously. Nevertheless, it is not only about the sushi. The restaurant offers a separate menu with the house suggestions presenting different kinds of Japanese appetizers that are really delicious and so ... Japanese. The best way to enjoy these appetizers is to order a bunch of them and share them. The last time I went there, my friends and I had the squid carpaccio (in a citrusy juice), agedashi tofu (fried to perfection), eggplant in miso sauce (I'm not a big fan of eggplant, but this dish was a game-changer), layered eggplant with beef (very tasty) and an assortment of tempura (not greasy at all and crusty until the end of our meal). We wanted to order the o-toro (fatty tuna) sashimi as well, but they don't have that one on Mondays, which means I will have to come back. But I don't see that as a problem, :). After our appetizers, we continued our meal with some sushi and sashimi. As already mentioned earlier, exquisite. As far as the place itself is concerned. Well, let's say it makes you feel in a small sushi joint in Japan. The place is small - but cozy -, so reservation is recommended. There is no AC, but only a couple of fans working in times of warm weather, definitely gives it a local feeling. On some days, it can be filled with Japanese people who really know how to enjoy their food, which makes you really feel as if you were in Japan for a little bit. Another nice factor is that you can order a bottle of shoju and leave it there with your name if you weren't able to finish it, so you can continue the next time you come again. Neat, isn't it? So, to conclude, there is definitely nothing that would stop me from going there again. Ok, I forgot to mention that the waiter can come off as a little bit arrogant. However, once you start chatting with him, he is unstoppable. :). The chef on the other hand doesn't say much, but I blame that on the fact that he's very concentrated behind the sushi bar, so no big deal. Can't wait to go there again.

2022 09 13. M0.

Although it started out as going to get sushi, we decided to go for the Kaiseki tasting menu. It was about 8 different courses, we also had an apéritif and a tea at the end. All in all the food was delicious and very well prepared. Nothing seemed forced or inauthentic. The only reason that I'm giving this four stars instead of five is because it pretty much took 30 min per course, and with a tasting menu, you take one or two bites then if you gotta wait 30 min before your next bite... It can get a bit tiring and it'll make you antsy for yournext course. Highly recommend the Yuzu liquor. Even though it took four hours, it was quite delicious and a great spot for an anniversary dinner.

I guess we should have known better. After all, Brussels isn't known for amazing sushi and it was an all you can eat restaurant. Once we sat down, we were surprised at how strict the "all you can eat" menu was. First off all, if even just one person at your table decides to order off the all you can eat menu, the rest of the table has to as well. I guess this is to the prevent sharing of food. Next, if you order something off the all inclusive menu but don't eat it, they charge you. Also, they put a time limit on your eating. I believe its over an hour, but still, thats a little picky. So, on to the food... yuck! I can't stress to you how bad the quality was. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and it literally looked like they took tuna from a can and stuffed it in rice. I can assure you that nothing we ate was fresh! There were some things better than others, but overall I left hungry. If you are used to American sushi, this place is not worth it.

The restaurant also had a rather interesting definition of tempura. If only the staff was nice and the price fair but alas! There's nothing positive I could think to say about the food. If I had to put it bluntly I'll say this place is yet another Chinese restaurant doing whatever they want.

However, prices seem to be reasonable or cheap for the area. Their lunch specials were particularly enticing too. Portions were far bigger than we anticipated. Though, honestly, wish I had just gotten sushi. I picked a salmon bento lunch special and we also got a tori bento. Salmon bento came with a seared filet of salmon with a sauce, two salmon sashimi, tempura + sauce, four gyoza, rice, and miso. Overall, fairly decent and in a bigger portion. Tempura was really nice and the sashimi seemed fairly fresh. Something I later wished I'd just ordered alone. The salmon filet with sauce was so-so and looked good, but wasn't particularly tasty to me. Fried gyoza would have been nicer with a sauce. I'm unsure if the sauce provided was for both of the tempura and the gyoza though. Tori bento had a nice bit of terriyaki chicken, fried egg over rice, more tempura with a different sauce, miso, and kimchi. The kimchi felt a little out of left field for me, but wouldn't complain about getting kimchi. If it wasn't for the lunch prices I don't believe I'd actually have ever came here and would have found it a big rip off. The restaurant is nice for some okay Japanese style food, but nothing I'd desire to pay more than what I had. Service was nice/standard amount of reservation. Maki and sushi looked really good though. If the sashimi was any indicator of its worth then that would have been my first choice had I known. Bento boxes are good if you're looking for something heavy.

And as expected, the ramen as well as the yaki soba tasted like Chinese food rather than Japanese. The ramen soup was bland and there was not much flavour, same for the yaki soba. The only saving grace is the sashimi we had, which was rather fresh. Overall, we were really disappointed with our 40euros spent on Chinese rather than Japanese food.
