Quite unusual and delicious. I tried the 7 course journey so I could experience a lot of different dishes. The dollar is relatively strong right now so the roughly $100 inclusive price was quite reasonable, IMHO, given the venue, service, and quality. Wine pairing is available for an additional price. When you order the journey you get little extras and amuse bouche to start, which is nice. The tuna sushi situation with coconut sauce was delicious. The extra dish of minced scallop neck on the half shell was served on a lovely bed of washed beach treasure like pretty stones and shells. The turbot curry was quite outstanding in flavor. Not everything is perfect, though. A fried mushroom dish was very tough (impossible to bite through) and soggy with oil (likely fried at too low temperature). The level of umami is very high in every dish, where an occasional choice with something acidic or bright would break up the sameness. There was a quite nice Thai fish soup with chiles that was exactly right to switch up the palate, so they are definitely capable of making minor adjustments like that. The pork confit wasn't as tender as it should have been and the accompanying kimchi wasn't authentic at all. In short, I would strongly recommend it for drinks but dinner is probably better downstairs at Basalt.

We looked online and there are so many booking slots available. Clearly we did not suit their image. The girl was so rude. We will save our Krone for places that deserve our money.

They are located at the top level of the hotel. It's recommended to have a reservation to dine. The staff was friendly, but wouldn't accommodate any party without a prior reservation. The food was excellent! I remember getting one of the set menus to share. It came with sushi, yakitori, and appetizers. The set was called (something like) "The perfect day", which it truly was!

We came around 7PM on a Monday and it wasn't too busy. We were able to walk in and get sat right away outside (I definitely recommend sitting outside). It's got a nice view! Our server was very kind & answered a ton of questions we had about what to choose etc. We started with the tuna tartare which was light and refreshing. I thought the avocado on it would be more like cut up pieces instead of more like guacamole. I thought it would be better that way. I didn't love the texture of the avocado they put. We also got the blanched spinach with the goma sauce which was tasty but I wish it was warm instead of cold! It was a pretty small portion as well. Things I really loved: the seared salmon sushi - it was very fresh & the pieces were large! We got the wagyu stick and MYYYY GOD if steak were butter than that's how I'd describe the texture. Sprinkle a little of the flaky salt on it and it's one of the best things I've put in my mouth. Things I didn't love: the miso cod stick. I've had this before elsewhere and it's been way better. I expected the texture to be buttery and for it to not taste fishy - it was neither of those. Also, Ted Dansen & Lilly Collins walked right past our table so overall had a really cool experience here!

First off, you need to have a reservation to eat here. We did not, (party of 4) so we waited a little time for a table. Being on vacation with nothing else going on, we did not mind sitting outside for 90 minutes and having drinks on this beautifully warm July evening. The cocktails and beers were all very good as was the food. Everything was excellent, in fact, including the service which may have been a little slow but again, I think that's just because we are used to the way things are in Chicago and wouldn't be considered slow for the rest of the world. We sat outside for drinks and then inside for our meal. Both seatings were very nice. The bill seemed a little pricey but I think that's typical of Europe in general. Everyone spoke English very well and the menu was easy to understand. Considering the quality of food, drinks, and service we received, it was worth the price. We would definitely go back as this was a short walk from our Airbnb apartment to which we will be returning in 10 days. Great food & drinks!

We ordered -fried rice with chicken (3/5) - pretty heavy on rice and cabbage compared to any other ingredients, very mild, but enjoyed it enough. The baby corn in this and the veggies dish tasted weird, like a fermented / canned flavor (not "fish sauce fermented" - we love that - but like "accidentally overripe fruit fermented"). It wasn't great but I was hungry enough I could overlook it. -pad Thai with chicken (3/5) - nothing special but went down easy -stir fried veggies (#34, I think) (4/5) - vegetables pleasant and fresh tasting, except for the baby corn, see above). -pineapple juice - kiddo ordered this, it disappeared quickly -Thai green iced tea (1/5) - strong off putting medicinal flavor, like aspartame, couldn't drink this -yuzu gin cocktail - husband ordered this, it disappeared quickly Huge portions, as others have noted. We came hungry, but we could have only ordered two items for the three of us and still had leftovers. Overall, pretty middling for Thai food, but we were hungry and they took us in, which for a night where most places had no space was good enough.
