My recommendations: - tan tan men: they say it's spicy but not at all. Very similar to the Paitan but with some "spicy" mince meat. Extremely tasty and my go to. - Paitan: a more pure flavour to the broth and extremely tasty and with great body. I would recommend it any day it's just a tinny wee bit under the previous one. Something else I want to say is that while I have tried the chintan, and I'm not all that keen on it due to a more "fishy" and thin broth, it is still full of flavour

It was so bland, there was no trace of curry flavor, coconut milk, ginger, lemongrass, lime, or anything. It was like a greasy flavorless broth that they attempted to thicken with flour. I asked for more flavor and you could tell the kind waiter felt terrible, but then it came back extremely overly salted and more greasy but still not a trace of Thai curry flavor (or resembling anything Asian at all).

I found out about Mao after a bit of poking around on the web, and decided to give it a go for dinner. The interior of Mao was impressive: a water water gurgled on one side of the room, a large hibachi grill stood in the corner of one dining room, and the decor was minimalistic and modern. The service was quick and professional. I started off with the miso soup--not hard to mess up, and this one did not disappoint. Later I moved on to some specialty rolls: Hot Philadelphia, Dragon and Kani. The latter two were the best: fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented, while the Hot Philadelphia was just ok. Later I ordered a plate of chicken teriyaki, which I was not impressed with. It was strips of dry chicken breast doused in a watery teriyaki sauce--I've had much, much better. Lastly, I had dessert: green tea ice cream, and fried chocolate-banana rolls. Both were delicious. Washed everything down with a nice glass of house red--excellent for 2.50 a glass! I seen this place was well rated and literally across the road and offered the steak dinner I was after so I headed across. Being from Scotland I was a little early for dinner at 8pm but was happy to sit at the bar with a beer until good to go, I hadn't sat for 10 mins before bring offered a table, a lot earlier than I should have I'd suggest to their credit. I sat down and ordered the nachos and a rib eye steak for main. The nachos are very different to what is served in Scotland of course so different to my usual but very good, much better than Scottish version of Doritos with lumps of cheese, salsa and guacamole but then that wouldn't be difficult! The main was brilliant. Not the best I've had but then that is reserved for the wagyu steak I had this time last year in the far East so not fair to compare to be honest. I managed to squeeze in a dessert as hadn't eaten all day and to be honest when it came I didn't want to disturb it as it looked so good on the plate! The flavours didn't disappoint either, simple banana pancakes it's seems aren't all that simple, presented exceptionally and tasting the same I can thoroughly recommend coming here.
