Food was all very fresh and very delicious. The ginger dressing for the green salad was a 10/10! Our server was patient and attentive and brought our food right out. Highly recommend, would come here again!

Tristan the host was very friendly he created me when I first entered and took my drink order right away. Food was fresh and delicious. The tuna was amazing loved it very fresh. The presentation on all the dishes was great. Personal preference on rolls ask for soy paper I think it let's the flavor of the sushi come out more rather then seaweed paper. Marie, my waitress, was prompt and tentative with her service and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The restaurant was very clean and the missive was good and and a the perfect volume for me. All employees were dressed very professionally. I will definitely come back here when I am in Fort Lauderdale again!!!

Disgusting. Needs a chef. Good location. Cute spot but horrible food. Sauce for teriyaki chicken lunch was gelatinous mess. Sushisaki noodles sauce was horrible. Ridiculous looking garnish of a piece of kale and carrot strips. Sushi: tuna was gray. Shrimp tempura not crispy. Even rice bowl had a crust on it like it had seen sitting out.

Well, yet another expensive (in my opinion) sushi spot in Fort Lauderdale. $5 per piece of nigiri and $12 for temaki. Heart Rock Sushi: 2 for $6 nigiri and $7 temaki AND just as good if not better. Service was decent. Location is good as it is las olas. Good luck with parking. Food tastes great. Just overpriced.

Small little spot located downtown Fort Lauderdale, parking on a Sunday was easy to find but on a busy day I can see this being an issue. The menu offers a lot of specialty rolls, hot entrees, and few veggie options. I wouldn't say this place wowed me, but I will say that the sushi rolls tasted fresh. I guess for $14 dollar and up rolls I was expecting something worth the price, but like I said it wasn't bad just didn't wow me. Probably wouldn't be back but was good for us to kill time on rush hour sit down and have a quick bite to eat .

A nice little sushi place in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. We found parking very easy and there are plenty of parking garages around the restaurant too. We were the only people there at the time, got there around 5. There was a happy hour going on with 20% off certain rolls and the drinks also had a special. We got the special fried rice, it was very flavorful, we didn't like pineapple flavored things so we opted for the no pineapple special fried rice. The cucumber roll was so fresh, it was delicious. I'm usually not a fan of asparagus in a roll but the asparagus was cooked well enough that it didn't contrast with the texture of the fried shrimp in the dragon roll, very good! And of course the shrimp tempura roll you can never go wrong with! Definitely a restaurant you want to try

However, my order was ready when I arrived and the person at the front was very pleasant. I will say that the parking lot is pretty small. I finally tried it when I got home........and was NOT disappointed. The tuna practically melted in my mouth. Everything was fresh, the portions were reasonable, and the food was delicious. Even though I did take-out, the presentation was still beautiful. I tried the Sashimi App, the Seaweed Salad, the Spicy Tuna, and the New York (Tuna, Yellowtail, Salmon, Cucumber, scallion and Tobiko). I loved every dish and definitely plan to return to Kaizen.

I sat in the bar so as not to take up a server's possible four top. I usually opt for this when I dine alone and the key is that Kaizen's staff never forget about you or leave you feeling neglected! The restaurant is clean, comfortable and they have great and interesting videos playing of sushi being made. Love Roll to start and it was amazing as usual. The tempura lobster is always so tender and the entire roll is a textural, flavorful feast! As a side note, it's worth noting the ginger used here is excellent. It's always plentiful and compliments their wasabi which is also fantastic. The wasabi has just the right kick but isn't brutally overpowering like, maybe grocery store wasabi. There is a reason I keep coming back and keep re-reviewing. It's all about consistency over time. In much the same way as a restaurant can have an off night or meal, it's about the trends over time. That's the true hallmark of a truly great restaurant and Kaizen is consistently on point! In fact, it is so good I have a hard time leaving my gold standards of the love and sexy rolls. Maybe sometime in the future, but if you're in

The Icon of the Seas had to wave off stopping off at Royal Caribbean's private island, Coco Cay,…read moredue to high seas. This meant we had the seventh day of our cruise free on the ship. Due to some good fortunes, my brother offered to take care of a meal at Izumi, the Japanese restaurant located in indoor/outdoor Central Park. The meal was what we expected, with good service, OK fish, but unexpectedly noisy environment. He was able to negotiate the a la carte menu down 30%, mainly because the lunch time hadn't been sold out. We wanted to sit at the bar, but were guided instead to a small table right next to other diners on both sides. We knew the table was going to be too small for what we were going to order, but the servers were good at bringing only the plates that fit. One bad result was that we couldn't really sample, but had to finish a plate before there was space for the next...so the chef kinda decided which rolls needed to be tried first. Fish quality is what it is on a cruise boat (AYCE buffet quality), but I found the sushi rice to be quite good, some of it even served warm. We tried seven of their eight signature rolls ($19 each...skipping the philly roll because I don't like cream cheese in my make...eight pieces of normal diameter cut...the sushi rice was good...none of it particularly well made, with some falling apart as I tried to pick it up), chef's sushi selection (4 nigiri of salmon, 4 of tuna, 4 of yellowtail for $25). I tried the spicy miso ramen ($16): good noodles, with the broth being similar to what they have upstairs at the buffet. Note that a lot of prices at the specialty restaurants are heavily subsidized...this a la carte option is not. A better option might be to get it as a fixed price option, for less hungry appetites. Tried all three of their specialty cocktails, with the spicy okinawa not being to my taste, but the other two being fruity and delicious. Izumi is also a Teppanyaki restaurant, and the designers had done a really poor job of doing anything about a noise buffer...it was really loud in the restaurant, many times difficult to hear because of the performances happening (constant clacking of the spatulas against the metal grill, over and over). It got better once the performance was over.

First, I like to add context in what I experience & so I was curious about the name. I didn't have the chance to ask Chef Travis about the name IZUMI, so I did the next best thing and conferred with my ever-ready resource, GOOGLE! So I found that the Definition of Izumi: fountain, natural spring. Meaning of Izumi: Means "fountain, spring" in Japanese. It's usually a name assigned to females, and there are a recorded 654 people in the U.S. with the name, IZUMI! I have always believed that you can tell much about a restaurant, by how well they have prepared the simplest of fares on the menu. Most Japanese cuisine aficionados know MISO soup, so we ordered that foodie staple, and let me just say, it was DIVINE! Dahhhhling, the FLAVOR on such a simple but important food item, was a party in my mouth. It's the soup my Asian soup WISHED my grandmother used to make...and we aren't even Japanese! But for a brief moment, at least till the soup was all gone, I wished she was! Needless to say, it set the stage of my picky palette! The Chef's Specials are as unique and passionate as the owner, in terms of taste and presentation. I can say passionate after meeting Travis, who's fire in what he puts into his creations is palpable and infectious! If I wrote about the considerable amount of food we ordered, it would take a week. Just look at my review about the MISO alone, and you'll get the gist of what I'm saying. Ferdinand and the maitre'd were unbelievably attentive and far exceeded the max stars allotted for this review. We truly appreciate being so nurtured throughout that incredible meal. IZUMI is offered in most of the Royal Caribbean Cruises Specialty Dining experience. Do yourselves a favor, and make your cruise extra special by going to IZUMI. They put the true meaning Royal in Royal Caribbean, when it comes to customer service! Thank you Travis & Navigator of the Sea Team! I'll definitely be back!
