Went twice in one week while I was in town. Authentic, delicious, quick, nicest staff ever. I couldn't recommend it higher if you want yummy sushi and a pleasant experience. We had the assorted sashimi appetizer, Las Vegas roll, Raku Signature Roll, spicy tuna roll, and regular edamame. We left nothing behind.... it was so good we ate Every. Last. Bite. Come here, eat here, take a nap, the come back and eat again! It's that good!!

Finally, good sushi in Saskatoon! We love Japanese cuisine - particularly sushi and sashimi. We have been here twice, and overall had great experiences. The very meticulously plated Goma-ae salad (spinach with exquisite sesame and peanut butter dressing), the delicious Gyoza and the unique and delightful Raku Orange (a special take on sashimi) made for a great opening to the lunch, promising more authentic delights to come. The more mainstream Chopped Scallop Roll and the Toro and Tamagotchi Nigiri lived up to - and surpassed - our high, post-appetizer expectations. On our second visit, we had bento bowls. While they were beautiful and had an excellent variety of things to eat in them, they arrived at our table room temperature (including the shrimp tempura). We are writing this somewhat less positive experience as a new restaurant still getting its bearings as there does seem to be some confusion in the kitchen at times. Overall it is a great experience, and with more time, should become one of Saskatoon's most treasured restaurants. Goma-ae: This is a delicious typical Japanese vegetable side dish. In North America it is typically made with blanched spinach. Sushi Raku created one of the most delicious Goma-ae dressings we've ever had! It had a peanut base, with a ton of sesame seeds. The sesame against the background of the sweetness reminded us of a loved childhood treat - sesame snaps! It looks really tiny when it first arrives, but as we unraveled the spinach we realized it was just tightly wound, and there was much more than met the eye. $5 Chopped scallop roll: The roll was made in the uramaki style with rice on the outside. Scallops are very fresh tasting, finely chopped up, then mixed with tobiko and mayo. Tobikoi s flying fish roe, which are extra tiny eggs. Used in this fashion they don't really add any flavour, but they add a lovely crunchy texture as they pop. The mayo has just enough chili added to it to add a bit more dimension to flavour, but is not at all spicy. The cucumber in the roll ads a nice freshness. Topped with green onions and toasted sesame seed. $8 Toro Nigiri: This is the belly of the tuna fish, which is the fattiest and richest tasting portion. The toro at Sushi Raku is very rich, without the marbled fat, which can actually make it more approachable if you've never had it before. $3 Raku Orange @sushi_raku. This unique dish is comprised of salmon and tuna sashimi, cucumber and green onion, tossed in a spicy orange sauce, and then served in the orange. As a nice touch a couple of slices of tasty orange are served with it on the side. The spicy sauce will remind you of Korean gochujang. The cucumber adds a nice crunchy texture and freshness. It's a great combination of flavours. $10

Excellent food, well prepared and presented. Remarkably fresh for seafood in SK. Price was quite reasonable as well. Staff was attentive. And supper crowd was sparse so we were the main attraction.

Mr C ordered the Shanghai Noodles which has both chicken and shrimp (and it's not the small dinky…read moresized ones!) and it was absolutely scrumptious! Highly recommend adding some chili oil to level it up For myself, I ordered the Lemongrass Chicken which comes with an egg , side of carrots and lettuce and 2 spring rolls Once my food arrived, I immediately noticed the green onion and onion smell (not a fan) but I also noticed the delectable aroma of the lemongrass chicken So, I did what I usually do and scraped off the bits of green onion from the rice and proceeded to eat my meal! Rice, chicken and egg were The rice was cooked just the way I liked and lemongrass chicken were so flavourful! The egg was surprising as I expected over-hard but it was more over-medium so it a even better I tried to overcome the onion scent/flavour from the spring rolls but after eating two (delicious) pieces, I decided I really can't anymore so Mr C got lucky and ate the rest for me (along with the lettuce/carrots hehe).

I ordered the spring roll and laksa. I enjoyed the laksa. It had great flavor and tons of shrimps…read moreand scallops. The laksa broth was delicious. Only complaint was the heat level. My server told me the locals (ahem...Canadians) can't handle the spice. I didn't enjoy the spring roll as much as I should be. It's was served slightly warm and with the peanut dipping sauce. The sauce was different. I don't know what they use but I swore it tasted like there's hoisin.
