My dad LOVES the sushi house and raves about them! He has been coming here/ordering takeout from here the last several years. I've also been here with my dad in the past and they have great service and sushi. When we came to visit family we ordered from here twice. We got an array of sushi both times - raw and cooked. I'm happy to say that I've found a good sushi spot to go to now in PA! I was extremely pleased with the food from Sushi House. I ordered a California roll, Philadelphia roll and shrimp tempura roll. They were all excellent! The restaurant is not currently doing in dining service, only pick up. The only thing I noticed, inside the restaurant was clean but the counter area was very junkie and cluttered. I think they should make it look a little neater for appearance purposes. Sushi here is good, not too expensive. We usually get the combo/platter offerings. Order pickup regularly. Never had any problems with orders, and has always been ready when they said. I like the location because it's either on the way home from work or errands we commonly run. If you live in similar area you will probably find that is the case as well. We alternate between here and Ginger Wok which is just a little better quality but essentially a small town over. Would recommend and plan to continually order from them in our take out rotation. read more

Lone dining at a sushi establishment is never as much fun as ordering with friends, but the servers at this restful stop in an unassuming Morrisville strip made me feel so welcome. Sushi house stands apart with the number of special rolls offered. The range of available fish varieties is standard for the area, likely dictated by local tastes. The Ruby roll that I ordered, filled with an assortment of fish and topped with spicy tuna and roe, was very good. The yellowtail and jalapeno appetizer, nestled on sushi, would have been more pleasing had the peppers been thinly sliced or shaved. As served, they dominated the palate. So, I came here on a whim because I wanted chirashi. The place looks very unlike a traditional sushi restaurant. But, then again, it's in the same place as a Little Caesar's. Although, now I know whee to go for my chain pizza cravings. The place has a bunch of cheesy sushi signs that made me second guess my decision. I mean, all I really wanted was vinegary rice and raw fish either dutifully placed on top, or wrapped up around the rice. I'm not discriminatory. How bad could it be, right? Well, then I walk in. Like I said, not a very traditional sushi place. Sure, they got an aquarium with love fish inside, and a sushi bar in the back, but with the banners spelling out SUSHISUSHI above the bar, I should have been even more wary? Was i? READ ON!!!! Ok so I sit down, peruse the menu, decide I definitely want the chirashi. So I order it. You know how good the service is? After placing my order, I was asked AGAIN what I wanted to order!! These chuckleheads saying they get bad service must be either blind, forgetful, or just plain in observant. I got so much service it was like double service! Anyway, the food finally arrives. What am I treated to? A big plate, with about if teen sashimi pieces scattered about, and thinly sliced cucumber buffering the fish and the rice. The rice? About a tiny bowlful. Now, I'm not one to complain when people buck trends, so I won't. This was simply not the traditional way one serves chirashi. Normally, chirashi is a bunch of sashimi pieces in a large bowl overflowing with more rice than you could possibly finish in a week, not a plate full of islands (if islands be a disparate set of food items). (Okay, maybe disparate is the wrong word.) I ate it all and was starving for more because I was expecting heaping mounds of rice. Bit, it's just not traditional. Very forward thinking of this place to not look like a traditional sushi dive and to not serve food in a traditional way. Kudos to you! read more

What can I say? I live in the area and wanted to try this place for a while. I am not a big fan of discount sushi but sometimes it can make a good quick easy meal. When my wife mentioned that someone we knew really liked the place I decided to give it a try. Ordered tamago (egg), dragon roll (eel) and spider roll (soft shell crab). Wow, in a bad way. The egg must have been frozen and recently thawed since it was super moist/wet (it doesn't need to be moist at all); the eel was ok but there was hardly any of it; and the spider roll was horrible and inedible. Guys if you are reading this, please hire someone who really knows what they are doing with discount sushi, you should not be servicing people this stuff. read more

Being very particular that I must not be able to smell or taste "fish" when I eat sashimi, I am always nervous about where I go to eat Japanese food. Trying this place for the first time, I was very impressed. The sushi & sashimi were very, very fresh....no fishy after taste at all. Besides the sushi and sashimi, they also had a big variety of very imaginative rolls. The service was also excellent with very attentive and friendly waitstaff. I really enjoy this place. My husband and I often go on weekends, and it's great. The rolls are large and fresh, and we have always had pleasant and prompt service. Our normal waitress even remembers our favorite dishes. Also, as anyone who reads my reviews already knows, clean bathrooms are a HUGE sticking point with me. As a regular to Sushi House, I can honestly tell you that it is a great place to get quality sushi at a very reasonable price. It is definitely a "hole-in-the-wall:" there aren't usually more than four tables being taken up at a time. My family and I are definitely foodies, we have eaten at some of the most upscale sushi places in the area and Philadelphia and yet we always end up back at Sushi House with Sharon. If you decide to eat-in, the service is attentive, and courteous. The sushi chef prepares a wide variety of hand rolls, as well as sashimi. If you actually like sushi for what sushi is supposed to be then don't even bother looking at this place. If I can give this place a zero I would. The only thing that was fresh was the avocado on top of the sushi that was barely filled with fish. The wasabi was fake, the seaweed salad was fake, the ginger was old, the rolls were average size with the majority of it being rice, of course. We ordered the kani salad that was just a cluster of tempura flakes and cucumber straws with about a total if a teaspoon worth of crab meat. The service was appalling. The waitresses switched in the middle of our meal and didn't even say anything. The second waitress appeared to be on drugs and would rush over to our table only to stare at it and run away. She asked us if we were OK almost every two minutes. It actually made me feel really uncomfortable. It really bothers me that this place has a sushi chef that would dare to make sushi rolls the way he did. I'm going to post a picture of the atrocity. Don't go here. read more

The Sushi House has officially been upgraded from 4 to 5 stars. I had a 4 star review on here for several years, but it was written when I'd first found out about The Sushi House. I'm always hesitant to give a place 5 stars right away just in case part of why I like it is just because it's new. But The Sushi House is great and I honestly don't know of much in the area that even comes close. I know some great places that specialize in somewhat similar cuisine, but they're all either further away or different enough that I don't consider them worth comparing. Check out some of my other reviews if you're just in a sort of "Asian Food" kind of mood and decide for yourself. What I love about The Sushi House is that 1. It's very nearby. 2. The food is great. 3. The prices aren't cheap but reasonable and 4. The staff the staff the staff! It's a small place that can easily be missed, but despite this fact if you go on the right night you'll be surprised by how busy it gets. Most of the time when I'm just picking up or stopping in at random times there's only one or two tables occupied, but now and then it's just about filled with is great to see. It's a quiet place with an impressive offering of Sushi plus some really good meals. I'm partial to the Shrimp Udon, in broth or sauteed depending on my mood. If you have friends or family who don't really branch out much when it comes to what they eat I'm sure they'll be happy to see several Habachi and Teryaki offerings. If you go more than a few times the staff (pretty much the one waitress/manager) will be calling you by name in no time. She's a lot of fun, jokes around, and even tried to help out a relative who wasn't exactly a chop-stick expert. The Sushi House is very welcoming and it makes a better experience. He's probably grown up now as I haven't seen him lately, but it was always cool seeing the little boy behind the counter on slow nights. He couldn't have been more than 8 and he was scanning cards and printing doubles of my receipts better than most teenagers. read more

I have been going here for years. The sushi was always good. However, on my last visit I walked in right as the sushi chef let out a loud sneeze while preparing my order. He did not wash his hands and my food was exposed to the sneeze as it was not completed and covered. A few days later I became very sick, missed work, and got my significant other sick. Any establishment that puts customers at risk by working with a contagious sickness shouldn't be in business. I was a routine customer and will never eat here again. read more

I decided to get a "Sweet Potato Roll" from this restaurant and went in. The restaurant was empty and I placed my order. The woman "Manager" was very rude when it came time to pick up my two "Sweet Potato Rolls." She said "10.00 minimum I give you soda" I told her that I wasnt interested in a soda Im headed home to have a drink! She then angrily got my order placed and out I went. This place's sushi is better than most sushi joints. Even though the yummy roll is more expensive than most of the sushi's on their menu, the yummy roll melts in your mouth with the cream cheese and it adds a crunch when you bite into the fried shrimp. read more

I went here on a Thursday night with a friend, we made a reservation but certainly didn't need one. The staff was very patient as we took a long time to decide...the menu was huge! Came here with a coworker for lunch. I ordered the Monkey roll and a house salad. House salad was very good, the dressing was great! Too many places overdo it with the sesame, but this place wasn't too bad. Now, for my roll...it was delicious! But it wasn't the Monkey roll. It was a Mango roll. The white tuna in my opinion was alright, but I do have the caterpillar roll and TGIF was really yummy! My mom had pork katsu but that was disappointing, it was quite bland and dry, not to mention it was oddly place over a random be of lettuce... Katsu in my opinion should be served over a bed of rice.
