The food is good, but there are enough irritating things about this place, we'll quit coming here. For one, EVERY TIME we order fried gyosa, even if I make certain to emphasize we want it fried, they steam it and we have to send it back. Worse, they then just fry the gyosa they already steamed, which ruins it. Then, what Japanese restaurant doesn't have teapots? You have to hail the busy waitress for her to get your cup, carry it back to the kitchen, and bring your cup back, every time you want to freshen up your tea. Its so silly. Add in one particular waitress who seems annoyed at having to waitress, and we're always bummed when we get stuck with her, there are enough other sushi houses that get all these things right, we finally asked ourselves why we keep coming back. read more

The food was delicious and at first out service was great. My friend and I were treating ourselves so we ordered several options to share. Our server was super friendly and our food came out really fast. After that our super friendly, "can I get you anything" waitress' attitude changed immediately. All of a sudden we were being served by someone who clearly didn't want to be any sort of helpful. It's like you could feel the attitude coming from her. My friend and I also both worked in the service industry long enough you can tell a bad day from a downright rude server. Then had the audacity of ordering a side of garlic sauce and the sauce that comes with pot stickers. That's what we each like with our sushi, it's just our thing. We sat there for 15 minutes, I think probably longer, waiting for that. Two teeny tiny dishes of sauce. She stopped by once and said that she'd go see if they had that ready yet. Ready? Pour in tiny cup and bring to happy customers. I should mention that it wasn't super busy (we caught it right before luckily) This would have been a raving 5 star review but our server really just killed the fun time we were having. Oh, and then we were rude enough to ask for to go containers. She almost (my friend caught them) dropped them on our food and walked away. I'm heartbroken. I love the sushi here!! Unfortunately, the restaurant was full so we sat at the bar. No problems until a cockroach ran right in front of us and into the crack of the bar that seems to lead where they prepare the rolls :(. Weak stomached, we had to leave. Was very excited to try Sushi House due to all the great reviews, but sadly my husband and I were very disappointed. We usually go to Tokyo Steakhouse but decide to try something different. We ordered two appetizers and it took 35-40 minutes for them to be served then 15 minutes later our food came out. It wasn't very busy, so I'm not sure is there was an issue in the kitchen. The portions were small (compares to Tokyo). Also pricy in my opinion. We paid $77 for two entrees and two sushi rolls. All in all im not very sure I would try again. read more

What a wonderful surprise for Amarillo! The sushi was wonderful and the dinner was just as good. I order several sushi dishes, all of the sushi was fresh and properly made. Ordered five sushi rolls for carryout. They were packaged in foam boxes to keep them cool and all of them had pickled ginger and wasabi paste included. They also placed chopsticks, napkins and soy sauce in the bag, but not enough for the amount of sushi ordered. The sushi rolls had a good flavor and were cut into pieces that weren't very uniform. For the price I wish they were a little larger in diameter as they were probably the smallest rolls I've had from anywhere in Amarillo. Overall it was good, but since they're located in a shopping center I pass by frequently I was hoping for above average. Their credit card machine was also having problems so I wasn't able to use Samsung Pay and earn points. I will probably try them again sometime, but won't go out of my way to get there. read more
