The location is convenient. The decor concept is cool (even the toilets are cool and gives a Japan immersion experience!). They offer a Mon-Fri lunch special on plates on the sushi train.
In the end I ordered a'la carte sashimi because it was better value. The tuna and salmon were ok, the scallops good but prawns were obviously pre-frozen.
My biggest gripe here is the service. I really long for the old days of hospitality professionals, not backpackers and poor uni students with no common sense.
They stupidly prioritise cleaning up over serving customers and attending to requests. Had to keep asking for things and they'd take their sweet time to follow through because they had in mind some other task. I sat there waiting for a sauce dish and had to ask a second person....then still wait. Can't eat sashimi without soy sauce folks! I needed a napkin and instead of giving me the one she just laid for a setting she made me wait while she finished setting the places (not immediately needed) and went to fetch another!! Illogical.
But I know I wasn't in Japan when I commented about it and then was ignored completely the rest of my visit (and didn't get the obligatory arigatou gozaimasu as I left the shop). And frankly, that's just plain rude! read more
