I was locked out of my room, and I did not receive any individual therapy during my stay. The doctors only spoke to me for about 10 minutes total, which didn't feel like enough time to properly assess or support me. The unit seemed very understaffed, and staff did not have patients under control. I was attacked by another girl and also experienced bullying from both patients and staff, which made me feel unsafe. The only positive part of my stay was that the food was good. oh and a girl was being VERY racist there. evil don't go.

I…read morehave struggled with Depression nearly my entire life and had received help from a number of doctors, in-patient care, out-patient care, therapists, counselors, groups, etc. with little to no real effect on helping with my depression. It wasn't until I started working with Jess that I really discovered how to identify and let go of the things in life that were holding me down and aggravating my struggle with depression. She helped me HEAL from past traumas, not just how to deal with the effects of it. For me, depression is a life-long battle and I have worked with Jess for the past 3 years where she has helped me cope with everything from how much depression sucks, to dealing with break-ups, to family interactions, to looking beyond my old self-beliefs. Even when I'm in a "good place" she helps me learn from it and how to manage the feelings/issues around it. Jess has a unique way of listening and guiding you through your own thoughts so that you can effectively articulate and understand what you are feeling and what's going on, but she's direct about it (no soft questions like "how did that make you feel") - She is some sort of emotional-ninja that can get the tough stuff out of you and help you let it go or put it back together so it doesn't hurt. Plus I've never had to remind her of a past event in my life or who a person is or why something is difficult for me - she takes a vested in the person and so she not only gets to know you, but she also comes to understand you in ways I've never experienced before (and never want to lose!). When I first met with Jess, I was quite honestly a bit uncertain by her youth and beauty; however, I very quickly realized that she was more insightful, knowledgeable, and compassionate than anyone I had ever received help from before. JT is incredibly kind and well-intentioned, but the therapy felt one-dimensional. Sessions largely focused on validating feelings without providing structure, tools, challenge, or actionable guidance - all of which I repeatedly asked for. Given that this therapy was priced at the higher end of what we've seen, we expected a much deeper level of engagement and clinical depth. I consistently expressed that I did not feel understood, and that concern never felt meaningfully explored. The turning point came when JT continued asking the same questions and implied that I wasn't going deep enough. When I asked him to take a different approach and ask more thoughtful probing questions, he responded by asking me what I thought he should ask instead. That felt backwards. If he is the trained professional, I don't believe it should be my responsibility to determine how we get deeper in session. He also seemed dismissive of modalities like the Gottman Method and Nonviolent Communication, as well as the self-work I was doing independently. Despite repeatedly asking for homework or guidance between sessions, none was provided. We were looking for stronger direction and more skill-based, structured work, which is why we chose to move on. We're very happy with our new therapist, who also practices EFT but brings a broader, more versatile approach rather than relying on a singular method.

And then meet them right where they are. With acceptance and encouragement and most of all hope and a plan. Her clients are not numbers. They are people that are hurting and she has a gift of healing. To bind the broken hearted and help guide them to the place of seeing how much each of our lives have to offer. I truly believe Dr stone is an unsung hero. Because her life has not been dedicated to peer approval or ackolaids. Her life has selflessly been dedicated to her patients and clients. And Heros are usually not known but to those they are busy saving. And I know Dr stone has saved many. And she has touched countless life's. There is not enough space to list her areas of expertise .
