I found Mountain Vista after some research. Seeing that they have a good rating and are in network with my health insurance provider, I called them to get more info. I was told by the individual who returned my call that all evals require up front payment and that I would need to go through my health insurance afterwards to get any reimbursement I may be entitled to. I wasn't interested in going that route and decided against using this practice at that time. A few days after my interaction with them, I began to reconsider that conclusion. As I have the urge to get an eval done before the end of the year. I called my health insurance to discuss that scenario. Come to find out, Mountain Vista is breaking protocol within their contract with my health insurance provider. Per said contract, they are NOT allowed to mandate patients pay up front for an eval if they opt to use health insurance with an in network practice. This was baffling to me. As I'm sure Mountain Vista should've known this. My health insurance gave me insight I never expected to learn and one I can use moving forward should I experience this scenario again. With their assistance, I have filed a complaint against Mountain Vista. This situation was upsetting and caused dire frustration for me. Please do your research when looking for a provider. And if you have questions, I highly recommend contacting your health insurance provider. Stay away from Mountain Vista!

And we listen). Same day sick appointments are a god send. Nurses call back quickly to answer questions. My only issue is the well vs sick thing. I like it. But, each time we have been there (not sick) we are asked to walk through the sick section and go to the rooms on the sick side. I finally asked - turns out the doctors have their rooms assigned to them, the rooms are not divided between well and sick (silly me. I thought the patients on the well side went to the rooms on the well side. And the sick patients went to the rooms on the sick side). What's the point then???????? Thanks to the office for a quick response. I appreciate separating sick and well patients, but it completely defeats the purpose when you have well patients walk through the sick waiting area to get to an exam room. Especially now during this rampant flu season. Ideally, you have well patients entering the exam rooms via the door in the well waiting area; the sick patients entering via the door in the sick waiting area. And, I'd love to see air purifiers in the lobby and boxes of masks. We were there a week or so ago, and they had to go to the back for masks.

Caitlin did a great job at first trying to think through the cause and when she couldn't figure it out, she didn't just suggest but told me to move on and force my son to go to school and ignore his pain. We decided to pursue some other avenues and needed a 2nd opinion. We went to Dr Bouzarelos who helped me think through some options. Under the notes, I saw Caitlin tell an admin that a 2nd opinion completely undermines the patient-doctor relationship. Once she heard I saw Dr. Bouzarelos, she called me at work to re-enforce her thoughts. I called the office and asked to switch our primary care physician which Caitlin wouldn't allow. She said that if I wanted to switch, I don't believe in their practice and I was not allowed to see anyone in their practice. I was left without a primary doctor overnight in the middle of a medical emergency. Fortunately, Partners in Pediatrics understood my emergency and got me in right away. They encourage 2nd opinions and would love to hear if I have any other ideas. My son's chest pain has been resolved and we continue to partner on his care. I hope the more senior physicians at 5280 learn from this review and coach the newer doctors. A few other things: I know Caitlin only worked a couple of days a week. Since they won't collaborate across physicians, I often had to wait several days to get any answers back. The front office can be pretty difficult. None of this really mattered to me until I was in a true emergency. I suggest finding a great pediatrician because when your child is chronically sick, it can be very difficult to manage.

I'm not sure how this place is in business at all. Perhaps that is why they offered a Groupon. I arrived ahead of my scheduled arrival time because I was specifically told I was welcome to come early if I wanted to. As soon as I walked in, Caleb snapped at me and grumbled something or another about how he wish someone had told him I was coming in early. It was clearly distressing for him. To be fair, it seemed like he was pretty swamped with the ZERO other customers that were also there. I wish that were the extent of the problem of this place. Then, "the doctor" (Caleb's daddy) arrives and asks if my car is the one parked in a certain spot. I answered yes, it is, and asked if it was not a legal spot (maybe there was a sign I missed). He laughs and says "no, it's perfectly legal, that's just where I usually park since I'm the doctor." I moved my car, because that didn't feel like a dealbreaker for leaving. That was, however, strike two. After multiple condescending questions about how floating works and if I knew what displacement meant, "the doctor" showed me the float pod and pointed out that the water was too high and if I got in, it would ruin the motor. Not sure what that had to do with me. I offered to come in another day. "The doctor" offered me an alternative service of which I had never heard and, quite frankly, would not trust with him at this point. He says I will have an additional float for free instead, which I appreciate. Before leaving, "the doctor" and Caleb start arguing about the water level in the tank, how Caleb didn't think it was an issue, the motor was "literally steaming" the other day, blah, blah, blah. "The doctor" informed me it was "a father-son relationship." I'm not sure if that was supposed to justify arguing in front of an already put-off customer; it very much did not. We are past strike three at this point, and I was desperate to leave. I have already contacted Groupon, because you could not pay me to return to that facility.

One is IT programming and the Med School. Neither have a relationship with their mother. I lost custody during the divorce. But I won in the end. To avoid this trauma, avoid this woman at all costs!
