I only saw one therapist here and it left me more traumatized than before I went in. At the initial…read moreintake, he seemed friendly and knowledgeable. I expected to be starting EMDR within a couple of sessions. Instead, at each session, he would just stare at me, ask how I was and then leave it to me to start talking. There were several uncomfortable silences. I had to keep asking when we were going to start EMDR. He started by explaining (again) what it was and then giving me examples of how it helped other people and himself and examples of the safe places they described and that his happy place was a beach and how the sand felt, etc....I wanted to say that was great, can we focus on me now, (you know the actual patient). Nope...7 sessions (at $130 a session)were all wasted. Oh, I know all about the trauma he experienced with his father and where he went to school and the planet that another patient described but this was just not helpful to me. I asked more firmly when we were going to start EMDR or if he didn't feel that was the right therapy, what else would he suggest. He then told me he felt I was 'resistant' and that I should have just 'gone with it'. He pointed out that maybe we should talk about my belief that I didn't feel I could be helped. I was shocked that a therapist would speak to a patient this way. He prefaced his comment with," No offense but,..." which of course, means something offensive is to follow. I had already pointed out to him that I have done EMDR in the past and found it to be helpful. He didn't seem to hear this though and instead focused on preparing me to deal with the trauma that EMDR could bring up. I assured him I had learned to calm down by deep breathing, visualization, and that I would be fine. He told me that I need more than a '5-second description of some place'. He said that in a rather rude tone of voice. It was apparent he was narrowly managing to keep his temper under control. I have no experience with the other therapists there, they may be great but please stay away from this man. He does not seem to know what he is doing.

UPDATE: So they called me back finally and now gave the excuse that they could not refund the $20…read moreon my bank account due to there being a "fraud" report blocking it and they need my bank to notify them that it was removed. First, even if the bank did, they cannot refund it on the original card because that was cancelled. Second, the extra payment I made was on a credit card and so that is where the refund should go. That has no block. Their billing practice is sketch and so I did file a formal complaint and told them in no uncertain terms that my complaint stands, my low reviews stand, and they can keep the $20 if they feel all of this makes them feel good about their ethical practices in terms of billing and customer service. I have spent too much of my personal time, my work time, dealing with this. Fair would have been that both me and the company work to resolve the issue, but it has been essentially put on me. They took no accountability, offered no apology for my inconvenience, and gaslighting me. This is unfortunate because they have genuinely good counselors, therapists on staff but their leadership and overall ethics have much to be desired. This is my last update because I refuse to give them one more second of my valuable time for $20. Chalking this up to a $20 lesson of where not to do business. UPDATE: Downgraded my rating because I realized that they took my payment without recognizing that they had already took it so now THEY OWE ME $20. I keep calling the number on the automated response to these reviews that they say to call and I cannot get a live person. So now, they are 1 star and I can't get anyone to call me back. They are now claiming they credited it to my account but could not answer how this could be since I do not see a credit back to either my credit card or to my bank account. So the therapists are good as are the staff. The reason for my very low rating is because of the fact that they charged my card on file for a $20 copay owed from ONE YEAR AGO WITHOUT TELLING ME and so I thought it was fraudulent charge, cancelled my debit card, waited over a week to get my new one, had to notify all places that used my old debit card. If they had just called me, told me that I owed $20 from a year ago and ASKED IF IT IS OKAY to charge the card on file, I would have just said yes. No big deal but now they made it a big deal. I will NEVER go back ever. I don't care if they have the best staff on earth. NEVER because them not contacting me is NOT RIGHT. Shame on them!!!!

I went to both Denver and Longmont locations and felt like I was treated subhuman and like a burden every time I was there. I reported Longmont's location to the BHA but they couldn't do anything since Klarisana isn't governed by them (which they need to be). I was left unattended during a bad treatment after they turned away my NEMT ride last year and wanted me to pay $160 of my own money for their "uber health fee" to get home. My case manager said she's never worked with a medical provider this horrible and unreliable. Im thankful that I tried treatments again this year, but this time at Khrysalis. Everyone do yourself a favor and go to Khrysalis for your treatments. They offer IV covered by Medicaid and also offer snacks, eyemasks, blankets, and check in on your multiple times after each appointment. And they remember you each time you come in and treat you like family. Avoid Klarisana. Horribly run company who cares more about quantity of clients than quality of care or patient safety. I'm happy not to deal with this scary company anymore. Avoid them.

Unfortunately, our experience since then has been extremely disappointing. She saw my son individually for two sessions and met with us as parents once before we had a family session after another issue arose. During that family session, she did not address the situation at hand, focused on irrelevant topics, and was dismissive when we tried to redirect the conversation--even after inviting us to 'correct her if she was wrong.' The way she spoke to us came across as rude and disrespectful, which only made our family's communication worse instead of better. To make matters worse, the session lasted only half the scheduled time, yet I expect we'll be charged the full amount. I left feeling angry, offended, and let down. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend her services, and I sincerely hope no other family goes through what we did.
