Not a Safe Space for Gender-Diverse Patients! As a non-binary person living in Kern County, being misgendered is a distressing and painful experience that I already face far too often. A medical provider's office should be a Safe Space--especially for patients who trust their provider with their health and well-being. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Leslie Figge, NP. Leslie has been my provider for about eight months. During a recent physical, instead of respectfully asking about my behaviors or needs, she awkwardly asked, "Do them do ___?" While this may have been an attempt at inclusivity, it highlights a deeper issue: neither Leslie nor her office staff have taken the time to properly educate themselves about pronouns or the healthcare needs of non-binary patients. Inclusive care isn't hard--it starts with asking, listening, and learning. After eight months of regular visits, the continued misgendering and lack of awareness felt dismissive, ignorant, and uncaring. Because of this experience, "they are finding a new provider." I would strongly caution gender- and sexually-diverse patients to be aware that this office is not a safe or affirming environment. read more

She's a brand new doctor for me who I saw for the first time on April 5,2024, and I liked her. She has a small town office (which I love!) along with a nurse practitioner, and her daughter is the receptionist. Everyone was very friendly and Dr. Hall listened to me and showed concern for my health issues and was very prompt in arranging referrals to see specialists. read more

This Doctor will keep you waiting! Never that busy but you will always get in about 45 minutes after your appointment time. I guess they think that's funny. You want an RX refill? Good luck! If the Pharmacy calls the doctor for a refill and the doctor wants to see you first, you don't get any calls from the doctor's office. You just go without your meds until you figure it out on your own and call to see what's taking so long. read more

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Hall for many years. Her care has always been very good to excellent in nature. We are elderly, and she excels in adult, older care. That said I would probably take my baby/toddler (under 3 years) to a pediatrician in a larger town if I was a rational, responsible parent, as she is not as experienced with very small children. Her office has sometimes been disorganized and wait times are a bit long. However, if a potential patient ASKS the office staff when the least busy times will be, and can plan around that time, waiting time is reduced. I'M APPALLED at the lack of responsibility & foresight patients have expressed in regards to a medical office in a small town! Medical care in rural areas all over this country is quite poor, and we are lucky to have such a caring and skilled doctor here in OUR small town. I really hope that patients realize that every citizen living in a rural area in this country must take responsibility and advocate for their own medical care to some extent. read more

Dr Hall is a good doctor. Her staff on the other hand are incompetent. The wait times are ridiculously long. We were in the office for over two hours for a 18 month old wellness check. Every time I leave the office I say I'm going to find a new dr. Unfortunately she's the only dr accepting new patients and kids in town. The also require the patient call and request a refill from the office. The woman who is in charge of this is extremely rude and unprofessional. The only reason I'm not giving a one star rating is because dr Hall is a good dr and her nurse practitioner is good. Everyone else seems incompetent. I've moved around the country and came back to our small town and this office is by far the most unprofessional and outdated office I've been to. I was also billed as a cash patient while my medical insurance was on file. I received a bill statement for $160. I feel most people would pay it not knowing their benefits. Luckily I know my benefits and had them apply my insurance so my bill was $0. Pay attention if you go here. read more

First of all, I was never once was welcomed or acknowledged by staff upon arriving. Dr. Hall was out of the office, so we had to see Dr. Steinberg instead. I brought my son for a simple sports physical. When I declined an EKG for my 9 year old (he has ZERO medical conditions that would warrant one), and also declined signing one piece of my paperwork (which it clearly stated I did NOT need to sign if I didn't want that release), she lost her mind and stormed out of the office and had someone else come finish helping us for the rest of the physical. I have never been treated worse by another health professional, was so embarrassed that my son witnessed that behavior, will NEVER come back, and will NEVER recommend her/this office to anybody else. My kids have been going to Dr Hall for years. They love her. She always takes time to listen and help her patients. She doesn't rush you or dismiss your concerns. If only she could clone herself and then there'd be two so she wouldn't be so busy!! lol. She has a nurse practitioner in the office now and her office people are much more efficient and improved. Doctor Hall really cares for Tehachapi and it shows. UPDATE - Saw the nurse practitioner last time and she was really awesome with my kids too! read more

Dr. Susan Hall and her staff are amazing! I have been a patient of Dr. Hall's for over 20 years and during that time she and her staff have gone out of their way to offer me the very best healthcare possible. Recently, Kara and Tammie, Worked very hard to obtain approval from my insurance company for treatment that I needed. Before going on a trip to Peru, Dr. Hall called me before the trip and made sure I had all of the vaccinations that I needed. Kathy, Lorena, Irene and Lydia Have all helped me on many occasions and I am very appreciative of the high level of medical care that I have received. Both of my children have been treated by Dr. Hall since they were infants And I highly recommend her as a pediatrician and the perfect doctor for adults as well. read more

This "practice" is a joke. Unprofessional, incompetent staff. They book months out and seem to have no clue how to run operations. I waited 1.5 hours for an appointment booked 2 months ago then they stopped seeing patients to have a staff meeting. The receptionist was unable to give me a timeframe of when I would be seen and didn't know how refund my co-pay. All of the intake forms are copies of copies of copies. Unbelievable that offices operate this way in 2019. Don't waste your time here. read more

Very rude and incompetent staff. Her PRN was 2 hours late for my kids' scheduled physicals. When I complained about this to the front desk person, he gave me a look and said nothing. The PRN overheard me and said that she was going to explain something about my son's perscription but she would wait if I wanted to finish my complaint. Then she said that since I clearly needed to leave she wouldn't explain anything. This was after SHE was late for the appt WITH NO APOLOGY! In sorry but I have two young children. Making them wait two hours in a doctor's office does not strike me as reasonable. And we were the only ones there! DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE! read more

I made a new patient appointment which was three months out. The day of the appointment I called to confirm since I had not gotten a call. They said that I had cancelled the appointment when they called to confirm. In reality I have a very common name and they called the wrong patient. When the truth was exposed that it was their error there was a hollow apology and a new appointment scheduled for another three months out because I was a new patient. When I attempted to ague my side that I had already waited the three months I was shut down immediately. I decided not to reschedule. Dr. Hall needs to be a good leader and invest in good training for her office staff. read more

Easily the worst office I've ever been to in 30 years. It's not exactly up-kept, the wait times can reach 3-4 HOURS, the people who work at the front desk don't know a single thing about their job and I'm not even sure they know where they are half the time. The Nurses are nice and competent but can only help so much. The doctors? Don't believe a word they say. They are like used car sales men. They make you think things will be taken care of, you won't be left in the dust, you won't be left suffering with no compassion....honey I got news for you. These people don't care about ANYTHING other than their paychecks. They're too good to talk on the phone to a patient or return a message or even refill a medication. Don't waste your time, money, health, gas or life and find a REAL doctor. read more

I went to Dr. Hall because my child had an emergency and she was covering for another doctor. It was one of the worst experiences I've had. I had an appointment for 2pm and wasn't seen until 3:45pm. The receptionist in the front might have been new because it took her about 20 minutes just to process the insurance and she had to ask someone about 3 times for help. The nurse that took us back stated that no children didn't like him so I had to weight and to take the height of the baby myself. Dr. Hall was nice enough but didn't stay very long for the time I had to wait for her to show up. I would not go back unless no one else was available. read more

Dr. Hall was an OK doctor, but her staff was ridiculous and incompetent. My husband and I were looking for a good family doctor that we could both go to in town and all her reviews were great, but her staff could never figure out how to tell you the right time for your appointment (would apparently write down one and then put a different one in the computer because they'd call with a different time, sometimes minutes and sometimes hours different), listen to you when you're trying to tell you what you need, or give respectable service. read more

I have no complaints of Dr. Hall. HOWEVER the NP Terri Steinberg WAS beyond unprofessional and rude to my mom at walk in clinic. She waited a total of 3 hours, was the second person to arrive and the last to leave. A NP student saw her, and then my mom waited another 1.5 hours. At this point my Mom went to ask what was taking so long, and Terri became confrontational instead of explaining that it was maybe a busy morning. Instead of apologizing She asked my mom if she knew the meaning of a walk in clinic! Then the worst part, she proceeded to look at the wrong chart- she didn't even know who my mom was and why she was there and it was the student who had to point out my Mom's chart to her. then WITHOUT even doing an exam/ evaluation on my mom, she sent her home with a prescription solely based on a student's evaluation. THIS IS NOT ONLY UNPROFESSIONAL BUT IT'S UNETHICAL PRACTICE. DO NOT GO HERE. VERY DISAPPOINTED AS WE HAVE BEEN SEEING DR. HALL FOR MORE THAN A DECADE, AND THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME. read more

I had high hopes and was disappointed in the office staff lacking professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to assist. I do agree with the previous review that Dr. Hall was patient, kind, and attentive. She answered my questions with care and a sense of responsibility. But unfortunately I feel the negative experiences reflect my overall opinion of the practice, and I will not return. I'd recommend you find a practice that has a strong staff to support the doctor(s) because a big majority of the visit and communication is through them as well. read more
